  • "The play of eight immortals who forget the worries of the present world and devote themselves to dancing"
Satire and laughter, sincerity and joy coexist in the works of Goblin Party, a creative group that aims for outrageous personalities and serious exploration, and those who exhilaratingly deconstruct familiar subjects and stories. Following 'Silver Jangdo', 'Once upon a time' and 'Hongunyeong', which transcend the gap between tradition and modern times, this time, he challenges to write a new tradition with the National Dance Company of Korea. Attention focuses on how the dance movements and compositions created by the eight dancers, who have been reborn as immortals, freely move between Jungjungdong and Dongjungjeong, unique to Korean dance, and how they will shake the landscape of dance.
Choreography: Goblin Party (Ji Kyung-min, Lim Jin-ho, Lee Kyung-gu)
    Composed by Ji Kyung-min
    Costume designer Han Hyun-min
    Starring Jang Yoon-na, Jeon Jeong-a, Hwang Yong-cheon, Song Ji-young, Lee Yo-eum, Jo Seung-yeol, Park Soo-yoon, Lee Tae-woong

I regret to say that the show did not live up to expectations at all. My god it was very painful to watch the first half of the show and it was a relief when I could leave the theater during intermission. I’m definitely not an expert of modern dance but I thought the music was horrible and what the dancers were trying to express did not resonate with me at all. I had fond memories of the old theater but I sincerely think that I will have to reconsider visiting again in the future for any performances.

Why not you give English subtitles?
