- This is actually my second one I bought TWO 🤦♂️ I didn’t video the first one. I have S/N 040 and 043 I actually received 043 first 🤷🏼♂️ my buddy Gary got his first (026) and the run video in the dirt at the end is actually his I haven’t had either of mine in the dirt yet. They are both 100 S versions with hydraulic quick coupler for the bucket. If you google Kabolite K988 you’ll find resellers I bought mine from Cleo B at HydraulicHobbies.com if not listed under hydraulic models send him an email tell him Frank sent you 😃 I did a pre-order on both and paid less so I don’t know the exact price but the standard version without hydraulic quick coupler and 2 auxiliary lines and cheaper radio should be in the $4000 range and the 100 S upgraded version with that and upgraded radio around $4500 or less. I have no control over what resellers charge is up to you to do your homework and price shop but Cleo B always treats me right. 🥰

Damn, that is a huge wheel loader. Awesome details to the Real thing. They should have a straight blade bucket for this one. But damn, 5 stars on this model.

I run a 988k for my job at a steel mill. I want one of these so bad. Only now learning as an rc addict that this level of scale thing exists. I'm most certainly going to get one this is beautiful

The first one either had a broken fitting or I broke it because of no oil and me lifting the bucket/arms and them rapidly going to the end of the cylinders I’m not sure. My friend broke the same exact fitting on his while he was operating it loading a truck. I believe a rock fell down in the area where the cylinder lowers and it hit the fitting I was there when it happened. The particular hose does a U turn and puts a lot of stress on the nipple of the fitting. When I put the new fitting on mine I put a zip tie around the cylinder/nipple so it shouldn’t happen again. I also cut the new hose a couple mm longer I feel it was too short. This one here is the one I kept and have had ZERO issues with it just did two shows with multiple people operating it and everyone loved it. It’s probably my favorite model and I consider myself an Excavator guy. Not sure what you mean about the tire changes???

Just ordered one. Does it have a low battery warning built into the machines or do I need to run a lipo saver?
it has one built it it makes a high pitch noise you can set the low voltage alert on the screen inside the cab with the 3 little buttons under the display on the dash
The manual shows the sliders on the left and right side of the Paladin ev lite controls “auxiliary oil road”, can you tell me what this does? Also, what is the “hydraulic return “ switch for?
yes the left and right “sliders” (track levers if it was an excavator) are for the 2 extra hydraulic auxiliary lines if you got the one with the hydraulic quick coupler bucket. I don’t plan on using them so I remapped my sound to the right side so i can have both thumbs on the sticks and use my right index finger to “beep” the horn like when your loaded bucket is in the air and a truck is backing under it and you honk to tell it to stop. Or honk when loaded to tell them to go. The left one I use for the quick coupler. I turned off the two channels in the radio for the two valves I’ll never use for the aux hydraulic lines. The hydraulic return is for self centering steering I found it to be useless. Nice try but FAIL in my opinion. I shut that channel off also BUT ended up having to turn it back on because it limits the steering angle when on and for some reason would do this even when I disabled it so I had to put it back on a switch. I mixed my pump on all my hydraulics so the pump only runs when I move a control. I don’t even idle my pump the delay is minimal the pump is nearly silent. I moved the pump switch to the right dial down bottom and rarely turn it to idle but you can if the slight delay bothers you. You can fix the boom drop by using expo expo to delay the valve opening so the pump starts first before the valve opens. I should probably make a video on all this stuff 😅

I just received mine, do you run AW-46 hydraulic oil as the manual says or do you run AW-32? I have a JDM 360L excavator and they recommended running AW-32 in it. Just curious. Please pass on any helpful tips for this loader if you have any! Nice video too.
I have both can’t remember which one I put in but it doesn’t matter. 32 won’t hurt anything. Go inside under the cab and cut or unplug the single wire that comes off the steering channel (4) I think that’s the stupid turn signals and clicking noise it stops that. Also in the right side (fake) tank the drive ESC is in there pull the jumper out for the fwd-brk-rev and that makes it fwd/rev with no brake then add delay on the radio. I’ll try and make a video for you.

Hey, me again. How do you remove the right side tank? I removed the cab to do some stuff and after I got done nothing happens when I press the power switch. No voltage display, esc beeps, nothing. I might have accidentally plugged the power wire coming from the rear fan into a lead coming from inside the right tank. I don’t think I fried anything, didn’t see or smell smoke. Is there maybe a breaker or something I might have tripped? Any ideas before I get the multimeter out and start taking things apart?
What website can I get one from. And how much weight can this one actually pick up.

If you still need help message me again it weighs 45 pounds and will pick up close to 30 pounds probably you can turn the PSI up if it’s too weak when you get it with just the twist of a knob on the pressure relief valve (PRV) it has hard lines and thick soft tubing so it can handle more than what they ship it preset at.

here you go it’s the same exact tire as the JD MODELS (RC4WD) 870K I’m actually ordering some with the correct tread design from Premacon the inside diameter is incorrect it’s smaller but a friend thinks he can make it work. I don’t hate the tires it comes with but they went through so much to design everything from the ground up they should have done proper tires also. The air cleaner is the same one from the 970 excavator and the exhaust stack (chimney) as they call it is the correct shape just should be BIGGER it actually looks fine and probably what size you would think it should be but the 1:1 is HUGE that’s my only “complaints” about the machine and I’m not really complaining just pointing out facts. You will love the machine. You will need oil for it be careful taking it out the lift arms will raise and as stated in the video I broke a fitting on the first one lifting it out. The hose does a U turn and it’s not real flexible hose. A friend turned the pressure up on his he says the lines are rated at 8 mpa and it has insane power.

Frank, I removed the cab to do a couple things and now when I press the power button nothing happens, no voltage is displayed at the rear of the loader and no ESC beeps. Just was wondering if you’ve had this happen before. After I installed a telemetry voltage sensor and powered the loader up to test it, I noticed the grill fan wasn’t running. The wires coming from the fan had what looked like a power connector (pos/neg) that wasn’t connected to anything, so I thought it got disconnected when I removed the cab. I found a power lead with a jst connector so I plugged in the fan wire to it. That probably wasn’t very smart, but I then tried to power on the loader and there was a beep and then nothing. Is there a breaker or something I might have tripped? Maybe something got fried but I didn’t smell or see any smoke. Any help would be appreciated.
Hard to say without having it in front of me. Did you try and uninstall the telemetry sensor and put it back the way it was? Where are you located? Just curious I travel the USA. I’m near Austin TX tonight then Laredo and working my way back to Washington DC.
I haven’t tried uninstalling the sensor, but I don’t think that’s causing the problem. After I first plugged it in, everything was fine until I shut it down and tried to power it on again. Couldn’t hurt to try it though. I’ll let you know if it works. How did you remove the right side fake tank? It looks like you have to remove the outer panel first so you can have access to the hex bolts. I live in Michigan. I drive mostly regional, though I do some long haul stuff from time to time.
HEY!! it just hit me 😅 you know that the “joystick” inside the cab is also an on off switch right??? it moves left-right if you didn’t know that and hit it BUT I’m pretty sure mine was in the off position when I got mine so you should know about it but maybe it got bumped and you just didn’t think about it??
I didn’t know that. Apparently mine was in the on position when I got it. I’ll check it out this weekend. I unplugged the voltage sensor I installed and that didn’t help. Thanks for the tip!!!
Hey, I forgot to ask you this. When I was looking things over under the cab I noticed a servo connector wire that comes out of the cab that wasn’t connected to anything. Do you know what channel on the receivers that goes to? I might have pulled that out when I took the cab off.
Do you know where I can get good Cat decals for this loader?
the ones it comes with are actually really nice and pre-cut BUT the one says 998K 🤭 I never even noticed until a buddy told me and he said he never noticed a friend that was over pointed it out. ALSO they have the logo mirrored it’s on the other side. It is in front of the C on CAT and the 1:1 is after the T on CAT. I have another friend that just bought my buddies #0026 and he’s getting into making decals I’ll see if he can make some are you wanting just like a 1:1 ? they have older and newer versions on the 1:1 also. The ones they are simulated are the newer version.
My loader only came with Kabolite decals, no Cat. What do you mean by 1:1?
@@gotoschlric2001 OH!! my buddies was the same he didn’t get any CAT with his. This model is 1:14 and the full size machine “the real one” is 1:1 ours are “real” they are just scaled down so I tend to say 1:1 vs real As it turns out the only thing on mine are the 998 instead of 988 the CAT is correct. I’m still waiting to see if my other buddy that is getting #0026 to see if he will make some. I’ll let you know.

OK well my buddy that was making decals made the 988k and it looks pretty good but it’s just black and white… He’s not making the CAT because he has the ones like mine and he can’t make color. You might have to make a trip to a sign shop and get them to custom make them they can use white vinyl and print it in color. Sorry
