    Thanks Jack. This is a really clear introduction to some powerful concepts and techniques. Your momentary oversight and immediate corrections of some steps helped to consolidate the learning as we were going. So I was glad of it. If it was deliberate you made it look natural!

      Glad that you find this useful. It was not deliberate, but luckily I managed so save it. Everytime I create a tutorial I will usually complete the same on another site for reference but as I get carried away, I tend to forget the steps I took, so that's what happened. 😂

I wanted to ask in minute 26:22 why do you select the custom field type as "link" instead of "url" I have tried both and I don´t understand the difference, both worked in my case. Not sure If can be any difference in SEO selecting "link" or "url"

I was wondering if it was possible to apply a full page template in bulk (based on category)? i.e layout all the blocks with text, images etc and then apply the full page design to existing posts that were built using classic editor. Assume I'd have to convert them all to block first..

    You use square image in your template, but everybody says to use 2:1 aspect ratio images for optimal appearance when sharing on facebook, etc. How do you get around this?

    • @JackCao
      @JackCao  Před 3 lety

      When you run Facebook ads, the best image ratio is 1:1. 1,000px by 1,000px to be exact, and it will give you a very nice featured image on Facebook feed. So, applying that to web images, I think 1:1 is most suitable for FB. 2:1 will give a landscape look though.

Thanks for the help.

    • @JackCao
      @JackCao  Před 3 lety +1

      I don't think you should add javascripts to the custom fields. If the custom field entity is a "Link", it will only detect link. So, if you want to add an Amazon Affiliate Link, make sure that it is only the link you have added, not the entire Javascript.

      There are no problems with site speed for Gutenberg as it load codes when needed. As for Elementor, it loads a lot of unnecessary codes. The main reason people switch to Gutenberg is because of site speed, plus Gutenberg is getting easier and easier to use.

    • @JackCao
      @JackCao  Před 3 lety +1

      Yes, it is necessary. The biggest benefit is the hooked elements because it allows you to add designs to any parts of your website, it even allows you to stick elements like the sticky header or footer. Blocks Pro gives you the dynamic content. I mean if you just need the bare minimum, you don't really need the pro, but if you want design flexibility and custom layouts then you will need the pro versions.

    All of things you say is easily possible with most page builders like Elemetor or ... and they are not just much cheaper but also have much more options and are much more stronger what you get in Kadence pro Theme.
    There's no logical reason pay much more and get much less 😂😂😂
    Using page builders and create a single post page template and you are good to go... along much more features that Themes like Kadence are NOT able to offer at all.
    I personally can't understand why to use such experience Themes...

    • @Nima-Norouzi
      @Nima-Norouzi Před 3 lety +1

      @GeekTimeline I tested a lot since last year regarding optimising and ...
      As my experience, there is no much difference between some page builders and even Gutenberg, with a little tweaking. It's not enough to sacrify all other things because your website might be load few milliseconds faster.
      And again, as I tested the same websites built with Elemntor and Gutenberg and speed testing, I didn't find difference mora then maximum if %10 , which is not negligible at all.
      This is my idea, you cab argue, but the reality is that if someone use page builders correctly, there is no much gap in between, but at the same time you loose a lot if features that you can't get them with Gutenberg or other Themes, and even if you can get them you need to use several extra plugins which is worse.

    • @JackCao
      @JackCao  Před 3 lety +2

      @@Nima-Norouzi I agree with you to the extend that you are proficient in speed optimization, which most beginners are not. In fact, most business owners and bloggers, would not want to spend time to learn speed optimization, so they would need page speed out of the box.
      I see you mentioned about testing both elementor and kadence and find little difference in speed? Did you do the test extensively and being unbiased? Because I've done that and have seen Kadence speed much better than Elementor out of the box. I've shared it on my channel as well. Feel free to watch it.
