The V90's battery cover is not superfluous. Easy battery replacement, and having a spare battery or 2 is great when chargers aren't handy.

I agree! Also, the same could be said for the Miyoo Mini battery compartment door. Overtime, rechargeable batteries can become faulty. Having easy access to the lithium battery and being able to change it out has become a very resourceful feature that people often overlook.

There is a port of Doom for the v90 that looks and runs great. Better than the GBA version :)
In addition:
Camelot games will not run on this (Mario Tennis, Superstar Saga). I have not tested Golden Sun. I think this is a general problem with the emulator on this device.
Fire Emblem Sacred Stones has framerate drops on bigger maps, however it is still completely playable. The frames only drop when the "turn change" screen comes on screen, as well as when the opponent bot makes a move during enemy turn.
I have the Q90 which is basically this device's close cousin. It uses the same inners, but with a different form factor. Meaning, when it comes to emulation, will be just the same.
It's weird that it struggled with this selection of games because these machines run 3D GBA games just fine, such as Mario Kart, GT Advance, Krazy Racers, Tekken Advance, and heck even Asterix and Obelisk; without any frame drops at all.

Same conclusion. I think the v90 is a pretty capable little handheld, specially for the price. Ips screen is very good and sound is quite ok.

I am impressed by your video due mainly to the DL links. TY for the links to download. I personally use my V90 more than my "Anbernic 351P" as I can have multiple save states on the V90 and it helps me slug it out thru games like "Super Punchout"! I wish I could play "Mike Tysons" Puch out on it.... someday. Excellent video bruh. Peace!

When I got mine, the save data kept getting corrupted at first. But then I realized I wasn't powering off the system before turning it off with the switch. Lol

@@xamergt Im guessing the console doesnt sleep/turns off when you close the lid/screen.
@@cleangoblin2021 i found what he meant,this little console needs to inside the menu choose power off,like in the computers,and afterwards you switch off the power switch,that way you will not have corrupt saves
Hey, great and informative video! Im having issues with mine and I was wondering if you knew the solution to it. My problem is that I cannot or I dont know how I start my GBC-roms in GBC-emulator. They only start in GB-emulator, even tho in the SD-card files I have them in the correct (GBC) folder. Thanks in advance!

Great review. I have the Pow Kiddy v90 same yellow color. Great machine. though one thing you didn't mention is that your fingers and hands can get tired since it is a smaller form factor than the gameboy advance sp. Still i feel it is a great machine and it pays for itself because it supports so many emulators. Great review and have a great holiday.

@@8-Bit_Flashback Does the v90 let you save your favorite games and then easily find them when powering on the unit or do you have to sort through thousands of games just to find one?
If Powkiddy would have used for the v90 handheld an OEM Gameboy Advance SP housing (with same dimensions as the original and much better quality thicker plastic) as well as positioning the start and select buttons exactly where they were on the GBA SP.. the v90 could be a true GBA SP killer. the only thing it lacks is quality on the housing IMHO, the hardware is also not as great, but for emulating GB / GBA games (what this device was made for I believe) it's fine.

I really wanted a sp style clamshell handheld so badly LOL since I never had the chance to have a sp back in the day. Now I'm about to buy RG35xx sp but I heard complainings about its button being stiff and loud, also it's bit chunky from what I can see and I think the price is a bit high considering I only want to play GBA games so I'm opting to think of buying a v90 once again after 3 years LOL.
The fact that l2 and r2 are not working yet is killing me lol.
I have this for 2 days now. About 4 hours of gameplay.. so I switched the theme the first time to the zelda theme it was ok. The second time i was looking for themes I accidentaly clicked on the start button while looking through the themes and the screen went gray. So when I turn it on it shows the nxhope bootup screen but then it just turns to gray screen and I can't do anything.. any help?

Can you put a bigger battery on this to last as long as the sp at 8 hrs?
yes. the default battery is 1020 mah. it will lasts me about 4 hours. You can put in a 1600mah/2300mah battery to last upwards of 7-9 hours. Also, they are great if you are adding bluetooth mods. The extra power sure does help

Yes, the emulators included support a save function.
GBA messes up the scaling on NES. GBA doesn't have enough pixels. POWKIDDY does!

For GBA games it is.
GBA runs in 3:2 aspect ratio.
V90 has a 4:3 screen more compatible with Sega, arcade, NES etc
