This video is about building bushcraft shelter in the forest - winter camping, snow. There are some bushcraft skills, making a fire, preparing firewood, cooking over a fire. It turned out to be a mixed hike bushcraft. I could not finish building the roof of the shelter.

I'm building my own tiny cabin in the woods in Maine all by myself then a shed, so your videos really help me on my budget. I know size doesn't matter but I'm only 5'4 110lbs so I fully admit it's such tough work on me but I can do it!! Thank you for helping me and many others. ❤ ~Sadie
That has to be one of the happiest dogs I've seen.
Outside with nature and not stuck in a house with no exercise.
And I love to see the big bowl of food he gives his dog. Some of these type of channels, we either see dogs not fed much or not at all. The huge bowl of mixed food looked appetising and filling for a big dog.

Once it started raining I was almost pleading for you to swing the tarp over the cabin and get inside, start a fire and get warm. An incredible amount of work in a short time. Looks like the pack is a USMC ilbe, and even though it’s been some years I’m internally having a fit seeing the pack not neatly tucked and squared away 😂 Guess some things never change when Marines get out. Those are great packs though.
Is there a publication on packing a pack?

Your food looked so good I could really smell it.
Then I noticed a plate of food on the table near me. Got so absorbed in your video that I abandoned my supper completely. And I thought I was going mad because smelling your food was not possible.

Great when build structures like this give ideas for a simply cabin, which could be used for a few seasons. This one of the best, and pallet build done in the past was brilliant.

The stakes you drive into the ground should be burnt at the ends to prevent them from rotting too fast. It closes the pores that draw water. ☺
But I'm happy to see you debark the logs you use. Helps them dry and not rot.

Just a tip, but if you're going to sharpen the upright logs, car them in hot ashes for a while before hammering them into the ground as that will stopp rotting for a long time.

It’s an impossible activity in the dark night wild without great courage.
You should try a Silky katanaboy 500mm folding saw. Cuts logs like butter. So much easier than a small saw like you have. Love all the shelter ideas you have.

Great video friends, and we have spring soon, the snow will melt, we will plant vegetables, fish in the river, prepare hay for the winter for rabbits
Roof first. Then you don't have to deal with as much mud.
A hard work...but 20 m. teen rope,cost coins and a few nails too.For example witn-out them is OK...but to go in wilderness in a weekend is lost of time & powers,acording me.

ps, the swale behind is a great idea. we have a hillside behind the house and the contractor made one there at the base of the hill. its only about 20 foot from the back wall. i think ive said it before, but, were in West(bygawd)Virginia.
