Oh gosh Lora, My heart broke when you showed how your doll was scarred. It’s ok it is not easy to customize dolls. You are so brave to try. I have never tried eye swaps. I like her little sports story. The freckles look really good! Nina turned out adorable. Every doll has a story right? Thanks for sharing your journey. Big hugs 💕

Nina came out looking so sweet! But ohhhh, I’m so sorry about Malia 😭 I must say, though, I LOVE that you turned it into her backstory and personality. That is 100% the way to handle this sort of thing! It makes her more interesting as a character. And she still gets to have those gorgeous amber eyes!
This is why I won’t attempt eye swaps myself! I know it can happen to anyone, but it certainly would to me. I’d rather trust someone more experienced than do it myself. Maybe on a beat up doll, I might try. Maybe. The freckles make Malia’s scarring better. I hardly notice the scars! She’s still cute! 😊 Nina looks good, too.
Thanks!! I totally blame myself for rushing the process on Meliah instead of being patient. I used a hair dryer to soften the vinyl when I was struggling with the 2nd eye, and held it too close, for too long of a time. Then I smelled the melting vinyl! 😱😰😭😭 It's definitely a feeling of victory and accomplishment when the ordeal is over and you haven't messed up! 😆 but I'd never do an eye swap on a new doll, either.
The scar makes her look more real since most of us have facial scars one way or another. Having scars and sports go together! But you did well with the freckles.
Thank you so much! One of my sisters has a similar looking scar over her eyebrow from face planting (during childhood) while she was sliding on a slippery floor. So it *could* be believed 😆 . But it taught me a lesson not to rush the process next time!
@@dollahlah-54321 Eyeswaps are SO hard, and SUPER challenging! I could never do that! I greatly admire your skill. I tried to take the eyes out and put them back on an old TLC head from a Rebecca just to see if I could, but I never got them back in LOL. I also purchased the eyeswap service from dollofakind. I'm sorry you damaged your doll, but she still looks cute! Not too noticable. At least you managed to swap the eyes, more than what I could ever do. She's going to be a joss base with turquiose eyes and a blonde wavy wig like Tenney's! I'm realy exited.

First, I LOVE Nina's head tilt - I also find the tilt endearing. Second, I'm so sorry about Malia's mishap! I think the freckles help and making athleticism part of her story is a good idea. Some liquid dripped on my daughter's Camille WW and it actually started eating into her chest. After I cleaned her up, Camille had a "scar" almost the size of a dime on her chest. Our solution? A band-aid! My daughter loves her just as much now as she did before and the notion that sometimes we get hurt and some hurts leave scars is an important lesson, right? Anyway, I've seen the tiny band-aids AG makes and couldn't help picturing Malia with a little bandage on her cheek there :-)
Aw, thanks Kristie! Yeah, I should definitely try to make a teensy weensy bandaid for her. 😄 And I'm glad your little one loves Camille just as much as ever. Sometimes the scars make the dolls even more loveable... or at least, cared for 😁
That's sad! 😪 Nina came out good! I think the eyes come apart, so you may have been able to keep the old casing with good lashes?😮 I have a swap I need to do, and I'm not looking forward to it!! Thank you for sharing your experience! Everything does not go perfectly with AG customizing!😢

I just purchased the seconds turquiose eyes from doll of a kind for a custom!! They are stunning.
