- Should you buy the BlackRock IBIT Bitcoin ETF or the Fidelity FBTC Bitcoin ETF??
Both have significant advantages, but some are more retail focused and others are more crypto enthusiast focused. The fees are different, the self custody is different, and the size of both asset managers are different, which should all play into your decision.
If you're looking to buy into any of the bitcoin etfs, you should look at doing it before, or around, the bitcoin halving.

Excellent!!! Explained everything I needed to know in an easy to understand yet very detailed way. This guy knows what he's talking about!Probably going to go with FBTC,but have to do more research.
I am clueless about crypto. Thanks for making easy to understand videos. What type of account at Fidelity do you recommend holding FBTC? Roth?
You can do any of the retirement account or tax advantaged accounts if they’re available to you. If your employer does a 401k then you can use that. If you want to do it on your own you can use a Roth IRA. If you just want to do it from a checking account you can also do that.
My employer uses Vanguard for my 401k so I’m currently just buying FBTC through my checking account
Thanks for the explanation, which are the platforms can etf be traded for non us citizens?
I’m not exactly sure tbh
Sealana has everyone buzzing, but the charts aren't reflecting the hype...yet 👀🤔
Hi Dawson I plan on holding FBTC for 10 years, is that a good time frame for big returns you think? Or is that too long?
I think it’s plenty fine. BTC should do pretty well on a 10 year time horizon. Some people will say sell if it gets super high like over 100k and buy back at lower prices due to the 4 year cycle but that can get complicated because you’re timing things. I think we can probably consider BTC to be like the SPY where people just buy and hold it to fight inflation and make long term gains
Hey do you know if blackrock or fidelity have identified their wallet addresses? Can you do a video on that?
Well blackrock doesn’t have a wallet they just hold BTC on Coinbase. I don’t think Fidelity has identified their wallet.
@@dawsonallen There aren't public wallets on coinbase? I would have thought coinbase would publish their own list of anonymous wallets. I really think I might move all of my bitcoin to Bitwise since I think they disclosed their wallet address. You should do a video on the importance of these ETFs and them needing to give more transparency with their wallet addresses for people to verify
@@dawsonallen Shouldn't we only be putting our money into bitcoin ETFs where their wallet addresses are identified so people can self audit and spot check their holdings to what they say they hold?
HOWS YOUR ASSETS DOING
Good
Do 50/50 IBIT/FBTC.
That’s a reasonable strategy definitely
I DO NOT SEE IBIT MOVING IN PARALLEL WITH BTC. HOPING IT IS NOT A SMART SCAM.
It’s not a scam
