  • Fighting through traffic in the Gen6 Camaro SS 1LE on track at Sonoma Raceway. Open passing rules, courtesy point-by is encouraged. (2017-10-08 CFRA at Sonoma Raceway, Group A, Session 2)
    - Bone stock 2017 Camaro SS 1LE
    - Third track day in this car
    - Still on original set of tires (Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3)
    - Still on original set of brake pads (Ferodo)
    - DOT4 Motul RBF600 brake fluid
    - Front alignment setting: -2.6deg, slight toe out
    - Rear alignment setting: -1.6deg, slight toe in
    - Track mode -- PTM Sport 2 (I usually switch to Race mode after 2 sessions getting comfortable in the car and after the tires and brakes are dialed in)

Just came across this video. Terrific driving I have the same car maybe one day I'll get it on Sonoma raceway since I live fairly close. These cars sure do seem to be track monsters...👍

Looks like you are a better driver than the guy on the Z/28. I’m contemplating on buying a 6gen 1le or a z/28. Both are fantastic cars and now that the Z/28 is in the $40s it is very tempting.

Yeah I think you cannot go wrong either way. The cars are pretty closely matched and priced now. Z/28 is definitely a rare car, although the 1LE is probably a better street car.

Look up the price for OEM rotors and pads on the Z/28 vs 1LE SS. The Z/28 is also more hardcore and doesn't make a good street car. The 1LE seems to be the best of both worlds.

The direct injection 6th gen lt1 or lt4 is junk in comparison to the ls7

Thanks for this, I'm glad I saved 35 grand and bought a 1LE over a Z28... I'd never find anyway Lol

Well, this wasn't really a fair comparison between drivers IMO. But even with the same driver I imagine the 1LE is a superior car. Thanks for the comment!

I admit I got a little frustrated but I'm also not one to go make a boneheaded move.. :D

Nice driving. I assume you left the Z28 way behind after he forced you to show up in the corner? I run into this problem constantly and normally just run time attack style now due to same frustrations.

Am I the only one who thought this was a video game?

Heh the simulations are getting increasingly realistic, and the real-life videos have telemetry overlays now, so I don't blame you. And of course I both types of content on my channel ;)

Excellent driving. Thanks for the share. Your car was much faster around the turns compared to the other 1LE. Any mods or suspension settings?

machinis Thanks for the kind comments. The car is bone stock here (details in description).

What data logger are you running?

    • @MarkGottschoRacing
      @MarkGottschoRacing  Před 5 lety +2

This is the OE Performance Data Recorder (PDR). It's a factory option on the car.

    • @Hole_Motorsports

Mark Gottscho never put together that all those videos with this logger were on GMs. That’s awesome.
