- Its time for an old school hot hatch comparison!
Will is lining up the classic FN2 Honda Civic Type R, alongside a Renaultsport Clio 200 with cup pack and finally a R56 Mini JCW.
Making it interesting today, the Civic and Clio are both packing 2.0litre naturally aspirated engines while the Mini has a mighty 1.6litre Turbo-charged engine.
On paper, the mini should be the best car but we all know that's not always the case, its all about the driving experience when you are behind the wheel of these cars.
Will the V-tech win will over? or will his love for RenaultSports sway him?
We will be diving into all aspects of these cars, the gearbox's, the handling, fuel economy, driver comfort and more! So stay tuned to learn more about these cars and how they compare to each other.

I preferred my ep3 to my clio 172 civic engine gearbox was much better handling wise about the same clio had better steering feel
Get yourself a clip-on mic, it'll make all the difference.
R56 easily the best car. Owned a 197 and an ep3 and the r56 for day to day use is a no brainer. Get a quaife lsd and ohlins suspension and they’re mint
This is an N14 I'm quite sure being a 62 plate mate.
Definitely an N18, I've just bought another 62 plate which is also N18

I was just scrolling through CZcams and this popped up haha good video comparison. I remember you came to view my Clio RS200 Gordini which i unfortunately sold when you got back to me!
Hands down the Clio RS200.. Im not biased i've owned a fair few hot hatches over the years Clio 182 and the 200.
One of my pals had an EP3 and another had a Corsa VXR and straight line speed we all would just sit next to eachother , it was just whoever had the best best start. If anything the VXR was quicker only because it's turbo lower down power it would just go in any gear. But. The clio on some twisty roads nothing comes close to it..
I loved my Clio but power chasing these hot hatches is just soo expensive, unless you have £1000's to put into it for a meg swap/Supercharger or K20 turbo.. It's just not worth it , Especially when you get gapped by most youngsters in a Skoda Fabia VRS or Seat Ibiza Fr PD130 doing 50-60 mpg and leave you in a cloud of smoke..
That's why i just switched to the Darkside and have probably more fun because it costs less.
