In this video, I show you how I make the crochet soft eyes for my amigurumi animals! I hope you enjoy it! Valerie __________________ Shop my patterns: www.oldsoulcro...
I'm not kidding when I thought the eyes in the picture were safety eyes and I was so confused as to how you were crocheting eyes if you used safety eyes. The highlights look perfect. This is so good.
Thank you so much for sharing this!! I struggled finding a way to make eyes I liked for items I wanted to gift to friends for their babies, this worked perfectly and looks wonderful!
This is a life saver! My stuffed bat came out WAY too big and my biggest safety eyes still looked way too small!! I’m excited to give this a try! Thanks so much :))
Thank you so much! I have started some crochet critters for grandchildren and don't want to use the safety eyes. This is perfect and I can handle crochet rather than embroidery for the eyes! Such a well explained lesson!
I am so happy to have discovered your site! These eye tutorials are SO helpful! I have been crocheting a bunny for my baby granddaughter, and I've been SO challenged with the eyes/facial features.
These are amazing!! I didn’t have any safety eyes for a baby Yoda and this tutorial saved me. I’ll never use safety eyes now because these look so much better 😍
Hi Paslayas! Thank you so much for that compliment! I like to think of my animals as vintage, but modern, so I think the term "old" fits them perfectly! I love the idea that they could be heirlooms!
I was looking for eyes for a bear hat for my granddaughter and I came across your video. I said those eyes would never work!! But I tried them anyway, after sewing them on the hat…the hat started to look at me 👍🏾🥰🥳 thank you!!!
This is exactly what I am looking for. I wanted to find something to replace the plastic safety eyes on my toys as I am afraid of the safety hazard (even though I glue them and properly attach the backing, you just never know with kids). These are a perfect solution, thanks for the tutorial.
I only have this really thick black yarn so I thought I'll give it a go. I only needed the first 6 stitches and it was big enough 🤣🤣🤣 oh well at least the rest was useful this time 😅
These eyes are much simpler to do especially as im a beginner. On the owl, there's a yellow section, did you just stitch thst part too add a bit of colour?
How did you crochet in fabric? It looks cute on your amigurumis! I'm working on a cow amigurumi and it came bigger than expected. I just need to add they eyes and this is helpful because I don't want to buy safety eyes haha. I want to add some color to the eyes tho
I love these eyes, I hope they work for you too! I have a video where I talk about crocheting in to the fabric. I punch a little set of holes in the fabric and then crochet in to those. I use a lot of fabric on my other patterns, for ears and bottoms of feet etc.
i tried this method and basically put extra stuffing in that spot, and put less stuffing in the area right around it.. takes a few tries to get it absolutely right, but it looks adorable once it's done!

Omg me 2
No literally same💀
Aww, thanks you guys!

Amazing!!! Now I don’t have to worry about buying expensive safety eyes, this is also much prettier!! Thank you😊
You're welcome! I'm glad I was able to provide a solution for you!

Your amigurumi's are so beautiful! Soft, with an old look and feel to them♥️. Old in the sense of heirlooms

Best tutorial on magic ring that I have seen. Great job. :D
Very helpful! Thank you. ❤
This reminds me I need to start making your animal Christmas ornaments. 💜💜
This is so helpful, thank you!
Thank you! I needed this
Awesome thank you very much !!!! Im so grateful i could hug you right now lmao
Very helpful! Could I do this with the plush yarn (the same material as the stuffed animal) or is it best to do with a thinner/acrylic yarn?
you could if you wanted. It will just make it bigger so you'll have to decide if that's how you want it.
@@oldsoulcrochetco.7887 got it, thank you!!
Wonderful pattern to crochet eyes for my first amigurumi giraffe! Great tutorial, thanx.
Thank you! I just used this on my very first amigurumi, perfect tutorial.

I am not really good at embroidering eyes
But crocheting them looks easy.

Do you have a video sewing it to the proyect? Im doing a cat its white so im not sure the right way to go in this one.
Hi Mirelys! Not yet, but if you look at the chubby bunny crochet along there is a good example in there.

Hey, I'm Valerie too.... HIIIIII!!!!!! 😃
Hello!!!
Thank you, that is so helpful!
You are welcome Renna!
Awesome! Thank you!
I love the alpaca!
Thank you!
How can I make the eyes bigger? I’m making a 34.5 inch Dino, so the eyes need to match his head. Like close to 50mm eyes
Easiest way would be to follow this same tutorial, but use heavier weight yarn.
thank you
How do you make the eyes dimpled like that? It seems like there is an "eye socket" almost?
i tried this method and basically put extra stuffing in that spot, and put less stuffing in the area right around it.. takes a few tries to get it absolutely right, but it looks adorable once it's done!
Hehe
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I like these better than safety eyes.
I can use this for my doble large crochet bee
