- Dr. Chris Chang received his PhD in bone physiology and Certificate in Orthodontics from Indiana University in 1996 and is a Diplomate of American Board of Orthodontics(ABO). He is the author of iAOI workbook, ABO Case Reports, Orthodontics, Jobsology and publisher of International Journal of Orthodontics and Implantology(iJOI).
Dr. Chang frequently lectures worldwide on a wide range of topics, including Damon system, impaction treatment, OrthoBoneScrews, implant-orthodontic combined treatment and Jobs’ effective presentations. As a private instructor since 2006, he has taught over 2,000 doctors from more than 21 countries.
In addition to teaching and publishing, he also founded Newton’s A, Inc. and Beethoven Orthodontic and Implant Group, based in Hsinchu, Taiwan. His passion in digital learning has led him to produce a complete series of orthodontic and implant continuing educational video course and an App, Beethoven Dental Encyclopedia. He has been actively involved in the design of orthodontic bone screws and application on impaction treatment.
His latest focus is implant and orthodontic combined treatment.
Dr. Chang’s lecture emphasizes easy and simple approaches for orthodontists and general practitioners in dealing with common orthodontic problems, such as Class I, Class II and Class III complicated by deep bite or open bite, with the combined use of Damon and miniscrews. 1:25 how to put an IZC screw - LA, go 90 degrees. 1mm deep into bone only if you are aiming 90 degrees (not recommended). To allow more depth, aim 60-70 degrees so it is more stable but you must allow room for bracket in nearby teeth

9:55 Position yourself at 12 O clock for inserting in Q4 if you are right handed. For the Q3 areas, move yourself to 1 o clock position so your hand ergonomics is straight towards buccal shelf (11:00). It seems you place the screw right where Attached gingiva and Mucous Membrane meet (12:55).

It means using your hip and palm to fix the patient's head as an antagonist to the force you applying on the screw.
