Thanks for instruction. The method with the plastic card was extremely easy, without the need to download more stuff from your dashboard. I have not imagined, but the effect of cleaning really is impressive.

Thank you for this video. I'm in the USA with the sound "off", as I can't understand your language, sorry to say. But your video speaks much clearer & better than some of those posted here from the USA. Well done, and thank you. Might I ask what oil you used to lubricate the fan shaft? I'm thinking I can use something like bicycle chain lubricant. What do you say? Thanks again and I can't wait to clean our 530i's sampling fan and make it quiet again. Thanks again, sir!

      Thx for watching my video.
In my case, I used engine oil because I didn't have any lubricant at that moment.
      Any lubricant should be fine.
      Enjoy cleaning your fan. :)

@@RCstagram Thanks! Did you disconnect the battery before you unhooked those cables in the HVAC system? Thanks again!

      @@user-qd8sz6oc5n No I didn't disconnect.

@@RCstagram Thank you. Any special insight/tricks to get that 3-wire connector to release? I'm having a tough time removing that plug, and getting the little connector at the other end of the HVAC to release from its plug as well. I don't want to break anything. Is there a hidden release on that small plug that I'm not seeing, or did you just pry on it to get it loose? Thank you again. I was able to get the panel to pop out easy just like your video, and I'm thankful for it. I didn't believe you had to remove the radio to get it out!

@@user-qd8sz6oc5n Yes. 3rd and 4th connectors were quite tough. In my case, 4th one was much more difficult.
As far as I remember, there wasn't any hidden connector inside.
      Just need time.
It took more than 1 min to take the 4th one out in my case.

    Great video.
Do you have any idea how to return panel with display to panel with buttons, so that the small copper contact parts, not pops out of their socket?

      @johnjoseph1005 Před 5 lety

Get 2 books that are the same height and place the books on the side of the panel not touching the buttons. Now you. An easily out the board back in.

If you don't have a thin credit card, you can remove the cup holder and simply slip your hand in under the module and (gently) pull out one side at a time to release the spring clips.

Hey Jason, I was wondering if you could help me figure out something. My BMW e39 won't go into sleep mode. I can't figure out what's staying on once I take the key out of the ignition. Any ideas?

Good video Jason. My fan won't shut off, even after i shut my car off, the fan is constantly running. This is causing my battery to drain. Do you think if i clean it like you did in the video it will return to functioning normally?

I am not sure it will stop running when you clean this fan.
By the way, it is normal. The fan is running after taking the key out and close the door. It might be 2~3 minutes.
I don't think cleaning the fan could solve your problem.

It starts running when you open a car door to start sensing the air temp. When the car is new most don't even hear it, but after it collects enough dust then it becomes apparent. It does shut off after a minute or so when you leave the car. Roll down your window, shut the door, and stick your head in through the window after a few minutes and listen. Then you'll know it does indeed turn off.
