Well, personally, having grown up on the music of the 60s thru the 80s, and have pretty much heard most of the songs first reactioners are listening to 100 times already, I would suggests, just in order to get the full emotional impact of a song, allowing it to play through the first time, and replay it again and make your commentaries. Just a thought. But overall, I'm just elated that so many young folk actually appreciate these phenomenal artists for their contributions. They were and still are PHENOMENAL!!!!

Best thing is that it's still shared around the world bringing joy to endless generations! Their voices are "heaven sent"!!! Sad for me, but, Andy, Robin, and Mo are now mesmerizing GOD with the gift HE bestowed on this beautiful family. Hope you enjoy them for the next 45 years as I have for the last 45!

The Gibbs were, in my opinion, the most multi-talented families in music history. They wrote their own songs as well as writing songs for many other musical greats. In 1967, they wrote a song called To Love Somebody which appeared on their third album titled BeeGees 1st, but their first internationally, as the first two albums were only released in Australia. BeeGees 1st was released in July '67. Otis Redding was set to record To Love Somebody on his next album. Sadly, Otis was killed in a plane crash, Dec 10,1967. I thought for the longest time that they didn't record it themselves until after the death of Otis Redding. Their brother Andy Gibb had a very successful solo career as well until his death on March 10,1988. Just 5 days after turning 30. Andy had developed myocarditis, inflammation of the heart, which was brought on by a viral infection While most people recover from myocarditis, Andy's body was unable to fight the infection due to his history of drug use. Soo sad!

The general public didn't realize how incredibly talented the Bee Gee's were because much of the music industry downplayed disco music for many decades. Now, what do you think about them? I grew up in 70's loving the Bee Gee's because I was raised in a family of musicians and singers knowing just how difficult it is to sing at this level. Their harmonies are incredible, and I have yet to hear anyone or group with their level of ability. Sadly, Barry is the only Bee Gee to still be alive. I play their music almost daily. They are incredible.

Maurice Passed in 2003 and Robin in 2012. They were so amazingly beautiful together the way they harmonized. Barry be strong and thank you for sharing this beautiful song by the Bee Gees.

At one point in late 70's early 80's there was an irrational anti-disco movement and they took the brunt.

    A little background info
The Brothers Gibb ...... Professionally known as 'The Bee Gees.'
Maurice (on the right) had a congenital bowel defect, i.e he was born with it. While on his way to surgery for his intestines, he had a heart attack, yet the doctors operated anyway. (I heard Barry say this on a video.) He was in the hospital for only 2 days! Maurice (pronounced Morris) passed in 2003.
Robin (on the left) had the same bowel defect, but it was diagnosed in time to operate and save him from the same fate as his fraternal twin, Maurice. During that operation, they discovered colon cancer. He passed in 2012.
Andy, the youngest brother, who had his own moderately successful career, died of Myocarditis, which is inflammation of the muscles surrounding the heart. He passed in 1988, at the age of 30.
The 3 brothers were also married and had children.
Barry (in the middle) said, "I am the last man standing." Barry is the eldest of the brothers.
On September 1, 2021, he and his wife, Linda will celebrate their 51st wedding anniversary, which is also Barry's 75th birthday. They have 5 adult children, and 7 grandchildren. The Bee Gees have sold over 220 million records worldwide. They were also writers for other musical artists. Barry just completed a new project called 'Greenfields: The Gibb Brothers Songbook.' It is very nice!
On a side note, their sister, Lesley is the first born. She was 77 in January, 2021. She lives a quiet life with her family.
After the movie was completed, (Saturday Night Fever) the director felt the movie needed a different style of music. In comes the Bee Gees. Their songs replaced Boz Skaggs and Stevie Wonder!
You will like: How Deep Is Your Love ---- Staying Alive ---- Night Fever -- Emotion

To Much Heaven has literally saved children. The Bee Gee’s wrote & released it in 1978. It was already topping charts world wide when they performed it in Jan. 1979, for The United Nations Children's Fund fundraiser, “Music for UNICEF.” They then donated all royalties & publishing rights to UNICEF, the 1st band to make such a donation to charity. The last official tally I saw was as of 2011, saying UNICEF had received more than 10 million British pounds from it, for emergency food & healthcare. Elsewhere someone said it hit 20 million as of 2019 (but I haven’t found an official source for that).

@@dannyoneil5058 Please provide a link to your source, as I find nothing about Harrison donating both royalties AND publishing rights to All Things Must Pass. Publishing Rights are not confined to a specific recording. They control future use of any version, including whether or not to allow another artist to cover a song, to allow any version to be used in a movie, commercial, etc. (& how much must be paid for that use). The Bee Gee's gift was unique in giving UNICEF control of the song itself, not just the income from the Bee Gee’s version.

Thank you Amaka for making this video. I hope that men are watching. What you see here are men singing in a way to be heard. Their octave is closer to a woman's and therefore more endearing. I may croak like a frog when I try to reach those musical notes, but I know that the effort to speak in a way that she hears is critical. What a woman needs is a man that through sheer effort and practice can speak to her heart, not as a man being a man, but a man learning his wife's language.

I really enjoyed your reaction video! If you get a chance to, listen to( More Than a Woman!) When I was 16 years old I snuck up on my girlfriend's porch and played that song on the old cassette recorder. It only took about thirty seconds before her dad ran me off LMAO. 2 month ago we celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary.! Happy happy for me, Pat myself on the back LOL

The Bee Gee's mean "The Brothers Gibb". There were 4 brothers from Australia. Barry is the lead singer, his 3 younger Brothers are Robin, Maurice and Andy Gibb. Robin is the only brother still alive. Robin is still married to the same Lady after 50 years.
100% of the money made from this song was donated to UNICEF. Over 11.5 Million Dollars.

I think you meant to say that Barry the oldest brother is the only one still alive and has been married to his wife Linda for 54 years this year. Robin died in 2012, Maurice in 2003 and Andy in 1988.😥

They can sing in a lower register, too. Try Nights On Broadway.
