I was curios to see what I would find on Amazon, looking for the cheapest but legit looking disc golf set. I found this 9 disc set plus a pretty sick bag for $39.99 and just had to give it a try. My first time out at Caseys house and playing his course. Man I wish I had something like this growing up. These discs were surprisingly fun and actually useful. - Sport

This was a great set for me cause the only course near me when I started 12 out of 18 holes were over water. Needed something I could lose and not cry.

I love how even Simon calls it a "Simon Line". I feel like 30 years from now that could still be a term in disc golf as much "hyzer" or "spit out". Paul n Paige may have the world championships, but only Simon has a specific shot with his name on it.
Or rather a specific type of shot: something incredibly stupid that doesn't make any sense but still works because Simon.

Simon, these were the discs I bought last summer to introduce my church group to disc golf. They were affordable and, most importantly, customizable with a Sharpie. 😂 Thanks to this set, and amazing CZcams vids like yours, my 5th grader and I have fallen in love with the game and hope to one day rub elbows (or throw discs) with pros like you. We still use the putters for practice, and these make for a great loaner set for friends we introduce to the game. (BTW, you and Casey threw those discs 10,000 times better than we did right out of the box. 🤗)

@@maxmotors9497 believe it or not, that same 5th grader is now in 7th grade and one of the newest member on INNOVA's Junior Team. And, yes, I would still recommend those, too.

YOOOOOO this video is special to me because these are the discs I started with. I didn't know anything about disc golf but a course was built in my hometown so I figured I'd give it a shot. I bought these because they were cheap, and now I have fallen in love with the game. While I now have a more traditional bag, these will always have a special place in my heart because they were the first discs I ever threw. Still have them in my room.

I'm amazed by the size of his property. I mean, having a 9 hole discgolf course on your lawn is not a small thing.
It is an 18 hole layout, we just played some of my favorite holes. We do have the land for a seriously sick course, this is just what I have been able to put together by myself 😅

Just watched brodie's in the bag videos with discs worth $100's all together.
Then I watch simon and casey split $40 on 9 discs and still nearly ace their shots.
To be fair, Casey has home course advantage. Literally.

I expected the cheapest disc period, not Disc golf so the promotional plastic disc made by some random Chinese company, not the old Instep set of discs.
@@18bigegan I Think they did at the same time the only real Disc Golf type disc that was Sold was the Wham-O MaxFlight a larger 190 gram max Diameter Disc so about a 23 to 24.5 cm diameter. Now It seems that Walmart does not carry Wham-O discs and the last time the stores did in the early 2010's it was the U-Max or the name of the Ultimate disc Wham-O makes.

Looks like a great bargain, if you are trying to introduce the sport to new people, kids and adults alike. Probably could be a permanent set for venues such as church groups, after school programs, PE classes, and however else you want to be creative. Nice video Simon!

Many years ago I got a set of Franklin discs at Wal-Mart and those things were the worst discs in the history of man kind. They were warped and wouldn't fly for crap

The Baysinger Disc Golf channel did a video using the Walmart discs. Pretty entertaining!
Over the years I've found many unique lost discs in our local parks and they seemed much cheaper(quality) than these. In-Step had the Saturn, Pluto & Mercury. Franklin had the Sparrow and there was a Halex discs driver that was so understable that it almost spiraled when thrown.
Ha, this was literally my first disc set. I still have a few around after many years of losing some in the woods. They are usable and I will not be surprised if Simon can work his usual magic.
Nice challenge. How about adding them in your bag for the tour 😃? At least you should throw them on your next skins match 😬.
Also, @Simon, a challenge suggestion. Choose each other discs, go with the worst possible choices without going "ULTIMATE" 🙂

We found some of these abandoned with no names at our home course. We keep them with the club discs now but they are so hard I would never thrown them in a round.

my first set was like franklin or something 10 bucks for 3 discs. Got me into the sport so i won't bad mouth them. This seems like a great way to see if your kids really want to play disc golf. After a couple of times on the course buy them a nicer set if still loving it.
Please try the franklin disc starter set, so understable, I could throw a hyzer spike and it’s gonna turn into a roller quick lol. Very domey as well

for 1st circle putters it could be smart for small budget players to buy several cheap knockoffs because you could get many many more reps when training.

In finland we have discs called "elixir" they are sold in little boxes and In one box theres a putter,midrange and driver for 10euros. I think it would be cool if you ordered them and tried them like you did In this video. The disc are like 95grams each:D
Seems like a great little starter pack to get for the kids! We all know kids dont take off on everything. What a great cheap way to introduce them to the sport. AND they could draw their own stamps haha

These discs are what I bought my buddy for Christmas. No one in my friends group ever played before but I thought it would be a good cheap introduction to the sport. Now 5+ years later almost all of our friends are into the sport and play every week. These discs collect dust now though.
I have this set! My dad got it for me. One driver made the bag.

Anyone else slow down the video to watch Caseys form...? Dude puts so much speed on the discs you can audibly hear them ripping through the air.
The blue is actually a midrange. The red is the putter. For a starter pack I got a company branded them this way.
My mom bought me a cheap basket 2 years ago for christmas and it came with thoes discs. Driver and mid are pretty much garbage but the putter isnt that bad. I could rip it very straight and holds most lines lol

I have these. The mid and driver are not that bad. The driver serves as my roller. Plus, I throw these over water or when great danger of losing a disk.
Funny. I got the same package off Amazon as a gift. The package came with an orange Beast for some reason too, making a total of 10 discs to start my collection (I just started playing 2 yrs ago) . I've been using the blue putter (I'm a 100% turbo putter) and red midrange 100% so far. I throw a Blizzard Champion Destroyer 100% for my driver (yes, I only throw these 3 discs). I still suck enough where it almost doesn't matter what i throw. Hey, man, they got me started and now my son and I are addicted to disc golf. I've also used the discs to preach the sport, getting a few other families to throw with their kids as well. Call them the evangelism discs!

Actually purchased these for the kids to throw around. They actually function like a decent starter set. It surprised me. I'll go out and throw them as pretty stable discs to practice drives. Definitely not high quality, but giving them to kids below 8 they were fine with them. Also drew some pictures on them with sharpies to get their own personal discs. If you need decent discs for absolute beginners can vouch for them. If the people like playing the game, then I would suggest they go get a real basic starter set of real discs.
