Hagler would beat Monzòn, he never fought a southpaw. If Hagler was given a title shot when he should have, he'd make more than 14 defences. Monzòn isn't mentioned as much because he was a nasty beast, a woman basher and proud of it. Other middleweights of note; Harry Greb, Mickey Walker, Stanley Ketchel, Sugar Ray Robinson, Charley Burley, Tiger Flowers, Jake LaMotta, the division is deep. All those guys are remembered favorably. Monzòn, not so much. Like Jimmy Saville. 🤜🫨🤛
@@colincampbell7928 Although Monzon had a sad end and his story was stained by the incident with his wife... it does not take away from him that he was a great middleweight... although I maintain that the best middleweight so far has been Marvin Hagler... I It hurt when Shugar Ray Leonard was given the fight... He never lost that fight, which is why Hagler repudiated the decision of the judges in Las Vegas and never went back into the ring.
@halcondelared Hagler was the best. I boycott Leonard because of the way he treated Hagler. There's only one Sugar Ray and his name isn't Leonard. Another great middleweight, Ezzard Charles in his early days. He beat Charley Burley twice as a middleweight in 1942. 🤜🫨🤛
