  • Welcome to Wonderful Wednesday! This weekly series features a free tutorial centered around a theme chosen by my followers. The theme for July is "Christmas in July."
You can find a linked supply list for the products on my blog at:
    wp.me/p34lmI-7qO
    Basic Instructions:
Score an 11" x 8 1/2" panel of heavy kraft cardstock at 4 1/4" and 8 1/2". Fold the small flap inside the card.
Trim the gift card wallet die cut to measure 8 1/2". From the pointed tip, measure over 4" and score at 4" and 4 1/8". This will form the flap. Place magnets as seen in the video.
Cut pink cardstock liners to measure 4 1/16" x 8 5/16". You will need 4.
    Cut (2) 2 5/16" x 8 5/16" liners for the inside flap.
    Cut (3) 3 7/8" x 8 1/8" patterned paper liners and (2) 2 3/8" x 8 1/8" to go over the pink panels.

I don't see this collection as Christmas, but more of a winter collection...I think poinsettias can turn just about any collection into Christmas! Nice decision on Victorian Velvet ink distressing...a pleasant break from the usual brown. Love the tassel look...unusual design element. Beautiful work, Kathy! You definitely insp[ire me to stretch my creativity...thank you!

Yes, Martie...it works for both Christmas and winter, which is why I purchased it originally. I love the way the addition of seasonal items make it read "Christmas", but using it with winter embellishments take it in another direction entirely. It's a beautiful collection, and the neutral color palette gives you lots of room to play around. I used to work a lot more with fibers, and I'm finding myself drifting back in that direction. I love the texture that fibers add to a project. I so appreciate your kind words! Happy crafting, my friend!

Hi Kathy! Wow! This is a gorgeous card my friend. I love everything about it. It is stunning! Thank you for another great video. Your videos always get me through those bad days. I’m playing catch up now since I haven’t been able to watch since the last time I commented. Thank you again for praying for John. Your prayers are very much appreciated. Love and hugs, Marla

Hi Kathy! Your card is absolutely gorgeous! I still love your style. Thank you so much for the tutorial. I don’t have this collection. I’m on hold right now with buying card making supplies. I just really haven’t been in the mood to make anything for the last year. It’s just hard keeping up with everything right now and I can’t wrap my brain around card making these days. I have a lot of Heartfelt Creations collections I need to use. I know I will get back to it someday. But with being gone one week out of the month to Rochester I get behind with my regular everyday household chores. I also go with John to his blood tests appointments which are here in town. When he has the aggressive chemotherapy he has to go get his blood tested 3 times a week. His blood levels went down pretty quickly a couple of weeks ago. I’m thankful for your videos. They help me not think about what John is going through for a while. And reading God’s Word each day gives me strength to get through this difficult time. The battle is truly the Lord’s. I’m so thankful for His promises to us. His Holy Spirit has spoken to me and told me John is going to be healed of this cancer. He has told me He is using these immunotherapy and chemotherapy treatments to bring healing to his body. He has spoken to John as well. We both have asked the Lord to give John many more years for His service. John is confident that the Lord will get him through these treatments and he is at great peace. I was so fearful in the beginning. I had a hard time even accepting that he has this difficult to treat Mantle Cell Lymphoma. We have been told they can treat it but not cure it. They told us Mantle cell always returns. But many people have been in remission for 10 to 12 years. They said when it returns they will treat it again but in a different way. But we are trusting that the Lord will keep it from returning and increase John’s days here on this earth. John heard the Lord talk to him one Sunday when he was in the sound booth running the slides at church. He whispered to John that he is doing excellent work. He has told him he will get him through these months of treatment. Proverbs 3:5&6 says: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your path.” This is the path God has us on. He has told us He is using this for His glory and to help others in their cancer journey. We just found out a man in our church has also been diagnosed with cancer. We don’t know what kind but he and his wife (older than us), (and we are 65 and 66), asked us about our experience with Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. She told us the doctor here is referring him to Mayo. So it must be a kind that they don’t see here. That is what happened with John. He went to an oncologist here and she had him do all the tests needed to diagnose what cancer it is. When she found out it is Mantle Cell she told us they never see it here in Cedar Rapids. So she had a friend at Mayo who works in the hematology department and she was able to get them to get him an appointment quickly. Mantle Cell is very rare. Well friend, you probably found out more than you wanted to know. But I wanted to thank you for those prayers you have been praying for John and for me too. I look forward to seeing more of your videos. I pray all is well with Dale and his health and you are in my prayers as well. God bless you with strength and good health. Love and hugs!

Haha! Yes, I work while the starter proofs and while the bread is rising/baking. I have to keep an ear out though...sometimes I get so absorbed in the studio that I forget the kitchen. Ooops! Thanks, friend!

Loved this card, you've inspired me to use some of my paper stash as always. I liked that die, see lots of possibilities, but checked the Button Farm website and did not see it listed.

Where did you get that glue bottle gun? I have a problem with my hands and that would really help. Thanks.
