    Hi guys
    While it is great to have an Australian reviewer and I generally enjoyed his work, some technical details seem to have been overlooked.
    It appears that the earc port4 is HDMI 1.4b. I don't think that will pass HDR or Dolby Vision from an AVR to the TV. Can anyone please verify?
    It is worth noting that the HDMI licencing organisation has declared that ALL HDMI ports be named HDMI 2.1, dropping all other classifications. You now have to check what each ports features are individually. Totally confusing rubbish which opens the door for deception and confusion.
    Fortunately TCL have not followed this convention and name their port classification using the old method, ( ie. 1.4b, 2.0, 2.1 ) in their published specifications.
    Cheers. 🍻👍

  • @romxxii
    @romxxii Před rokem +3

    Frankly if this is anything like the C825, the mini-LED backlight is nothing home to write about. Yes, you can get very great image quality in Dolby Vision, but you get terrible blooming with anything white, even from something like small pinprick lights. The white of the subtitles can just overwhelm the lower third of the screen, and for some odd reason the Google TV version of Netflix doesn't follow your global subtitle settings.
    On the plus side, I just hooked up my C825 to my PC's 3090 with an HDMI 2.1 cable, and VRR and Gsync mostly work. It bugs out in some games (e.g. Control) but others feel smooth and responsive, even when the frame rate dips below 60.

      I have a 4 year old TCL and it has been fantastic except for the slow processor. Upgrading to one of these 😃

    The remote is rubbish. No numbers so channel surfing is not user friendly. TCL 43 P 725 3 months old failed totally with minimal hours of use Waiting for TCL to follow up warranty claim after 48 hours. Not impressed.

      Keep waiting and stay on them....their arseholes ha to change my TV after 1 month and upgraded to a 65" tcl c825. TCL was a nightmare, speak to a manager, not the plebs otherwise nothing gets done. Replacement TCL is great though....but retailer should be the one you should be dealing with as they are the one that is responsible other Australian law. Should straight swap, repair or refund.... remember consumer affairs is your friend, o use them

    I've looked at TV in good guys, having purchased the c825 last year. I wanted to see if any improvements, it ain't, the sound quality is infinitely poorer and picture quality is only just marginal when compared to the c825. And the c825, I'm pretty sure the same features, so go to a retailer and get a cheap c825 just for the infinitely better sound quality.

      Bah, TV speakers are still ordinary.
      One can get a sub $500 logitech 5.1 with 167w sub vs the 20w sub on TVs....

      @@davidignjatovic3081 no one arguing that...but you'll pay extra $500 minimum as well as another device taking up space and power. And if you don't want that, this tv is excellent, as far as built in tv sound. Better than some cheap arse sound bars....clarity, bass and volume.

      why buy one of the top TVs and neglect sound...

      @@davidignjatovic3081 yes why would you buy a top tv that neglects sound? That's why the c835 is inferior to the c825.... slightly better picture quality but infinitely poorer sound.
