- Little trip with my girlfriend on my beloved Moto Guzzi 850 T from 1973. Great ride enjoying the sound of the Guzzi and the beautiful landscape of lower Austria.

Hi! Ich hab gerade Deine Kaufentscheidung im Caferacerforum nachgelesen, da ich auf der Suche dananch war, wieviele der 850 T gebaut wurden. Hab 2020 eine T BJ 75 aus Holland importiert und ung´schaut gekauft, weil ich unbedingt eine alte Guzzi wollte. War schon ein Risiko... Sie hat auch schon 120k Kilometer auf der Uhr! Hatte auch einiges an Restaurationsarbeiten zu tun (Kreuzgelenk, Elektrik, vordere Stoßdämpferkartuschen etc.). Seit 2 Jahren läuft sie, nebst a paar Kleinigkeiten, super. Ich war damit voriges Jahr zur (inoffiziellen) 100 Jahr Feier in Mandello über Dolomiten und Stilfserjoch. Sie war einfach nur fantastisch! Übrigens: Ein Freund (er hat auch eine von BJ 74) ist damit heuer im Mai von Nordgriechenland über Albanien, Montenegro, Bosnien, Kroatien und Slowenien heimgefahren! Freu Dich an Deiner Guzzi und genieße die Fahrten! Möglicherweise sieht man sich mal (bin aus der Oststeiermark - ich könnte mir vorstellen, dass wir in ähnlichen Revieren unterwegs sind). Hallo Robert, würde mich sehr freuen, wenn wir uns irgendwann mal begegnen würden :) Ungschaut kauft ist natürlich mit einem Risiko verbunden,aber die 850 T war das allemal wert! Freut mich, dass du ebenso begeistert bist. Meine Guzzi hat beinahe 100tkm und ich werde denmächst daher auch in ein paar Arbeiten investieren müssen. Bislang habe ich nur die Ventile eingestellt, den Lenker gewechselt und auf KN Sportluftfilter mit geraden Stutzen umgerüstet.

Go Pro Hero 9 Black mit Media Mod, mounted close to the body. In the future i will invest in an extern microphone to get the best possible sound :)
Hello. Has the timing chain been replaced with straight-cut gears? I thought I could hear that gear whine at 0:50 onwards on the over-run.
Or the sound of the handlebar controls those things came with breaking .
I am thinking of getting one and I am new to old guzzis. So excuse the ignorance, but that loud tappet or valve noise is quite normal, correct?
No need to excuse yourself! This is also my first old Guzzi and yes, the loud valvet noise is quite normal. In Austria we call it "Tractor" because of the unique cahracteristic of the engine sound. You really hear and feel an old Guzzi and it's totally addictive.
