If you have a question which needs answering please be aware that as a medical student myself I do not have the time to answer every question I get asked, as a result I will be holding a Snapchat Q&A quite frequently in order to answer as many questions as I can.
Interviewer: "Why Medicine."
Interviewee: *"Why the hell not."*
go big or go home amirite
Favorite quote from Scrubs
Interviewer : Why Medicine?
Me: Well after both my arms got amputated i was really inspired to become a surgeon and help the way the surgeons helped me
😂😭😂😭😂
The interviewer is gonna be like, how are u going to do that with no arms?
“why medicine?”
“ummmm i watched grey’s anatomy?”
I came to your video when I got an invitation for an Interview, today i got my acceptance letter. Thank you so much for what you do, keep up the good work
@Lateisha M They said they got the acceptance letter
Heyyyyy, just a massive appreciation post! I first came across your page during my days in 6th form and thanks to your advice etc. I am now scheduled to graduate as a Dr this summer! Thank you so much for your videos! Alhamdullilah and can't wait for you to be back here posting again!!!!

Can you do more interview prep videos? What was the Southampton interview like ?
It's really helpful.. Thank you 🙏
I've been asking myself why do i want to do medicine and your video helps a lot like i can relate to some of your example so that makes sense hehe. Thank you and pls wish me luck upon my iv ! 😭
I got my appendix taken out and now I wanna be a doctor.. LOL!!
thanks for posting,
Your videos are sooo helpful!!! Is it possible for you to talk about any ethical questions?
Just wondering when you applied to Southampton, did you apply to the bm5 or bm6 programme?
thing is, i genuinely like responsibilities, but i dont like sports so im not in a team and im not a prefect because i see it as effecting my grades, i mean it would be coo having responsibilities and stuff but i skipped the opportunity because i dont really ike it
Very useful :)
nice video idea :D
could you please do a video about your experience with A level chemistry , btw grate videos.
May I make a special request for medical school study habits and tricks though.
the doctor i worked with on my work experience told me to mention my family members who are doctors and their influence on me during the interview?!?! what to doo???
Hey bro, your videos are inspirational and quite helpful. I wanna ask you a question, I missed the UKCAT exam last year and l don't think l did really well in my A level exam this year. Do you think it's worth retaking year 13 and how likely is it l will be accepted by medical school? If l don't get offers, is it worth doing Extended medical degree program?
I wanna do medicine because my sister had meningitis at the age of 1 and I was 8 at this time and I couldn't bear watching her suffer. That's probs what I would say and (btw she did have it)
cheers man
Can you do a video about how to take notes from CGP Books?
Zalekha Munir hes done one already
most schools list chemistry as a prerequisite subject now.. but thanks!!
Just subscribed.
did you pass the medical entrance test or you chose other alternative?
Can you do a video focusing on work experience and volunteering work related to medicine?
Hey, KCL medic here! I'm going to be posting this video soon! I have a bunch of other videos on my channel aimed at helping other students get into medical school. Feel free to check it out and leave me any feedback or suggestions! :)
How did you answer confidently and expressed your thoughts effectively despite having English as your second language? I can speak English fluently but I just lose it when I’m nervous. I have a lot of thoughts but sometimes find it difficult to express them. Got any tipss??
Think of it as a conversation between 2 people, not an interview, in my head I used to think that they already like me as a person which is why they’ve given me an interview they just want to know if I’m able to communicate normally with them
What are you doing mbbs? Or MD? And what are you planning to specialise in
Ryhan could you do more interview mmi type questions please! Have an interview next week and finding it hard to struggle
Tahmid Islam Salaam, what course and Uni? and How was it? I got a Kings one for Dentistry tomorrow and I'm so nervous😂
Isaac Khan salaam bro - it was for medicine and it was Bristol uni. Have to say it was hard but that was because I was proper nervous - I would say be confident and just go for it and don't overthink any question they ask you
Tahmid Islam Thanks for the advice bro. may Allah grant us Success in our chosen endeavours Ameen. Good luck in the future man!
Salaam did you get your offer from bristol?
Isaac Khan did you get the place, also did you have a panel interview or individual interview
Can you do more interview type videos?
Love it
+Cameron Ure cheers big C
is it a valid reason to say you want to do medicine to volunteer abroad and help the less fortunate who don't have access to fee healthcare?
I guess they could ask why not work for a charity that also does that
I got 4 offers from diff universities and it is so bothering me. Thankyou for the englightment
What is the difference new EMDP and MBBS?
Guys my interview notes are now available to buy online !! Go check them out and give me some feedback - www.ryhan.co.uk
Where do you apply at
My mom died of cancer and my brother also had cancer, should I mention that this is the reason I want to go into medicine.
Nic C thats so unlucky, can cancer occur more often in certain families?
Interviewer: why medicine
me:DOCTOR MIKE
hi ryhan your so amazing please can u tell me how chemistry changes after gcse in A level
+Moushumi Akhtar there's a lot more maths in chemistry during a level and a lot of complex topics like enthalpy, entropy, and rates of reaction some of these take time to understand
If you mentioned something about like family experiences in terms of health, would that be worth mentioning?
+THESITHLORDS3 yeah that would be alright!
I just completed my medical study can I get job in uk
no mr thakur
Help! I want to do medicine, but I haven't taken biology and chemistry at a level, I've only recently wanted to be a psychiatrist, as previously I wanted to be a teacher. What do I do????
have yo8 tried speaking to your careers teacher or like your form tutor or head of year coz they'll advise you what to do and basics try talking to the head of chemistry and bio or head of science and see what they say. But if you do want to take those a levels then you've got catching up to do. My friend changed hers from psychology to Bio, just recently, so I guess its still not too late for you.
saira masood I’ve spoken to them and I think I’m going to follow clinical psychology path instead 😊
the UK unis have a course A101 which is medicine foundation, you do 1 year of foundation course which they will teach u chem and biology and get u up to the level of someone who has done a levels bio and chem and after u'r done with that, u can enter medicine
Currently i'm doing A Level Psychology, Chemistry, Sociology and Business. Is there any sort of good science degrees with just A Level chemistry bro?
biochemistry, biomedicine, natural sciences,
Bmx 121 What universities?
honestly either go to one where u dont have to live out or apply to the london unis(other than oxbridge) i.e. ucl kings queens imperial. i might be wrong
Bmx 121 I'm from Manchester, I intend to go away down south for University... You reckon I should?
personally im doing final alevel year, i live close to surrey university, its a lovely uni guilford is nice posh place u can do science degrees over there but they dont do medicine, i went to imperial but its a bit squash(and competitive to get into).
seriously unless you are going to good uni in london just dont live out
why medicine? because I like looking at the human body.
Disagree with the advice about not mentioning chemistry. For graduate entry medicine, chemistry is a requirement when biology is often not necessary at all. It’s important for undergrad too.
What if you be really honest and say ''I want to become a Doctor because it pays well''
They might ask why not do something else? There are plenty of easier and faster ways to make money.
petroleum engineering
wot happened to the beard?
+Madeeha H I got bored of it 😂
Why did you have 5 choices? I thought it was only 4?
5th would be a back up :)
u can apply for 5 in total, but only 4 of those can be medicine, the other one could be back up like biomedical or some course that is close to healthcare
DAAAAMNNN brooo you engaged????!! I see that ring!!
+earhhh jj looool nah it's on my right hand so I'm still single
Ryhan Hussain isnt it on your left?
bob wibbles It's a video man our left is his right
I wanna be a doctor and choose medicine bc Ive had too much of greys anatomy. 14 seasons man I cant help but want to become like them
I still haven’t watched that series yet
Ryhan Hussain its unrelated and weird but I got my exam results yesterday and it was a disaster I think I just ruined my future
He just gave advice on what not to say. He never answered the question.
Please bro send email id some discussion medical job
This is an example of inexperienced late teens people giving bullshit answers to appease the interviewer. It would be better I think to ask the interviewer if they want a bullshit answer or the truth. They will say the truth. The reason I want to do medicine is the MONEY is good when I start work. Also because I'm a smart bastard I will do medicine to wank and have a prestigious job. Or if you are say asian, maybe your parents locked the door and made you study until you are a flaming doctor. After you have been honest then you can go into the bullshit. I enjoy biology, I enjoy meeting people ( what a lot of bullshit that one is), I enjoy helping people. Keep it concise, assertive and don't ramble.
answer is money money and money you dush...
Doctors don't make that much money tbh
