- Are you interested in escaping the high New York City rent and housing costs? Gain Freedom From High Rent and Housing Costs with a DIY Micro Campervan. Dave converted a formal US Postal service Dodge Caravan into a high-top van dwelling for full time living in NYC. Throughout the New York area there are vanlifers popping up in nomad communities like Van Alley looking for a more affordable way to live and work in the city. At a recent event at Brooklyn Campervans in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn NY, there were many examples of like minded people and the tiny homes on wheels.
Dave purchased a fiberglass 6” raised roof for a Dodge Grand Caravan conversion van and tried to put it on a regular Dodge Caravan, which is a shorter wheelbase and shorter length overall. That is when he discovered that this new high top would not fit and it inspired him to cut the roof off and add an additional 18 inches of structure and then he was able to use the top to give him full standing height.

This is what DIY looks like. This is what I'm talking about. When you do the IY like me and others. Nobody has that particular brand that's why d. I. Y is the best. It's an individually different vehicle from the next. When you go manufactured, they're all the same, the same camper vans, that's all I'm talking about. This is cool as hell. I don't know if he lives an atom to always just for sure. I will soon find out.

This is living proof I'm telling people you can make your own campaigns cheap by cheap vans all over the place for $34510000. Good vans, turning to a nice home or a disaccompaniment to travel awesome. I love it everything difference like this. I love now. You're talking. This is top of videos. Neat, but way too much weight up high. This thing WILL tip over at some point.
They may look that way, but I did get on the roof after we film the video when I shook inside. The size seem pretty stable not top heavy at all.

I’m not sure who made the top. I think it was from like accompany that had contract with USPS. It was only like 6 inches tall and he made it 18 inches tall or it’s pretty cool the way it was crafted.

This is living proof DIY is the way to go I swear DIY I eat? DIY I have sex DIY I do everything DIY that's why DIY is the best so to speak, of course, like my camper, my camper trailer, nobody has it, nobody has nothing looking like it and that's why I love about d. So it shouldn't be surprising that some van lifers might want to emulate Jesus.
