After so many years, finally a chronologically correct Metroid game. A sequel to my favorite: fusion.

Believe it or not Metroid fusion was the most recent chronological Metroid game.
Samus was altered by the x parasite in fusion.
It even says Metroid 4 before the title screen if I remember correctly

And ya fusion was the latest because the X parasite makes an appearance in Dread, according to the trailers anyway

Let's give a round of applause to Best Buy for selling some copies 2 days BEFORE the Direct and a week AFTER the latest trailer advertising the Special Edition in it. At this rate we'll never get a copy.
It's an easy fix, offer them through the Nintendo online service. It worked for valve

Metroid is back baby!!! The more I see the game the more I want to play. It's very impressive how polish they got the graphics to look on the switch.
Especially when Nvidia discounted the Tegra X1 (The chip set the switch uses) back in February

@@youarebusteduser I doubt that Metroid won't do good in Japan. So maybe that's why they're focusing on the west more. Also that's untrue I looked at Japan direct for today and Metroid was present.
The graphics literally look like an indie studio of average talent made it

I want this kind of support from Nintendo for an eventually F-Zero game release.

@@enriquegomez8114 Yes but the last main Metroid game came out 19 years ago for the GBA. They doubted the success of more Metroid.
The prime games were selling less with each new one. Other M got bad reviews. Metroid was in a bad spot until they remastered Metroid 2.
Even then they we're hesitant for more. They still had Prime 4 behind the scenes but I'm sure they were doubting that as they scrapped the whole thing and restarted with a new studio.
F zero is not as popular as Metroid. Only more Hardcore gamers or those that grew up with SNES and had lots of games even know about it.
If I ask my non gamer uncle about Metroid he'll say "Oh yeah". If I ask about F zero he'll have no idea. The only thing he knows about it is Captain Falcon is in smash
the backgrounds in game look so freaking good, this game is visually outstanding

The Hype Cannot be More Real
It's been a long time since I've felt this level of hype for a game.
after the second trailer i thought the story would be samus being hunted down by the galactic federation because she disobeyed direct orders during metroid fusion
That might still be the case.
Same here. That is what I always expected for a Metroid 5 after finishing Fusion. Having Samus becoming a fugitive or something, exposing corrupt members of the GF and such. Not bad though, I just hope they can make it end in a high point if they mean to end the saga with Dread.

I'm glad to see Nintendo paying Metroid the attention it deserves. Now we just need a new Earthbound game.
And a new Star Fox game, too.
And a new F-Zero game
This may sound surprising, but I'm actually fine if we never get a new Mother. The franchise already ended 15 years ago and I think it had a strong ending. If Itoi really wanted to do Mother 4, he would already have done it by now (and the series just wouldn't be the same without him).
I have no hope we'll get the original Mother 3 officially translated either, but a remake with a global release definitely would be awesome
I don’t need a new mother game. But I do need a new itoi game. He’s already said he has no plans to make another mother game, so why not just make a completely new series? I’m sure that earthbound humor would seep into it somehow.
By the way, we need an Earthbound remake, dude. Not a new one.

GAME OF THE YEAR!! Looks sooo amazingg. Also, start the video @ 0:42 and watch Samus as she enters the beautiful Chozo temple. The camera angle changes too....so awesomeee.

This is probably the best Metroid game ever made, after beating this, I can say that with full confidence.
Super Metroid = One of the best games of all time
Metroid Fusion = one of the best 2d games of all time
Metroid Zero Mission = one of the best GBA games
Metroid Dread = ???

I don't have a Switch, but this is probably the most cool looking game coming soon on any system.
Nintendo is usually strict on releasing on their own consoles, which is sad. Sales number would go up if they went on PS4, PC and Xbox as well. I do own a Switch so i would probably buy it.
@@agamersinsanity if switch games released on other consoles, no one would buy a Switch. The switch is much weaker than other consoles they depend on their awesome exclusives for console sales

@@kevinbuchanan67 The prime games are a compromise that accidentally worked. It was originally supposed to be third person. But Retro had little experience in that area. So they opted for 1st person instead.
