- Princess Eugenie, who was treated at the hospital for the disfiguring back condition scoliosis when she was 12, was unveiled as the patron of the appeal in April and will take part in the Nightrider challenge, in which 3,000 cyclists ride a moonlit 100km route around London on Saturday evening [9th June 2012].
The specialist neuro-musculoskeletal hospital in Brockley Hill, Stanmore, aims to raise £15million over the next five years to equip its buildings with the latest technology and create extra facilities once a basic rebuild of its entire site is completed.
Princess Eugenie also discusses the recent Diamond Jubilee events.
It was lovely to hear her talk about her "Granny" and "Grandpa". It was also cool to hear of her overcoming scoliosis and how she is giving back.
Princess Eugenie seems like a very grounded and very caring young lady!
A lovely and well-spoken young lady!
I think it's lovely how she doesn't feel the need to call her grandparents Her Majesty and His Royal Highness. It's lovely to hear her call them Granny and Grandpa. Also, my sisters friend had scoliosis and had a 6 hour operation, so I know how it can be, she is so brave and sweet.
The Duke of York, is still close to the Sarah, Duchess of York. They lived in the same house (or neighbouring houses) for years, after their divorce. I don't see why, he wouldn't wave back.
Why do Pippa and Kate Middleton feel the need to sound "posher" now that they're part of the royal family? Whereas this sweet girl isn't trying to do anything but sound like a normal girl.
That's because when says " Granny . ! YOU KNOW WHO she's talkin' bout.
I wouldn;t say, that the Princess is particularly, a junior royal. There is a lot more, further down the line of succession, than above her. Plus her father is The Duke of York. It has been rumoured, that both the Princess and her sister, will increase their royal duties, after university. Their father, The Duke of York, has publicly said, he wished for his daughters to do more Royal duties in the future. Both Princess Beatrice and Eugenie, have already done a few Royal duties.
Lovely and very pretty indeed!
She seems so sweet. Also she is veryy pretty.
Brave lady well done.
100km ride would be challenging for anyone, rods in your back?? Awesome effort to even contemplate. How did she do? The kids following this ground breaking procedure no doubt appreciate the evidence walking in. Three cheers to you Princess. Yes we all love your Granny.
a bright, tough articulate and smart young lady
Surely nobody expects them to become a queen, and they will be pushed further down the line as William and Harry have children. But of the Queen's four granddaughters, they are the only ones who are styled as princesses, and for that reason alone, ought to have full royal duties. Also remember, they are in the same position (though not the same circumstances since the Prince of Wales does have kids) the Queen was in when she was young: daughters of the Duke of York. Who knows what may happen...
I understand that she is a "junior" royal, but given that she is currently sixth in line to the throne, it's a shame we don't see much of her or her sister. Hopefully, they will carry on more royal duties as they graduate from college (if they wish to). IMO, they would be excellent ambassadors for the Queen. But it appears (perhaps appropriately) that the emphasis is going to be on the immediate line of succession, especially with Charles reportedly saying that he wants a scaled-down "Firm".
I'm saying this because it looks like Bea is asking Eugenie "where is grandmother"...and then they wave...
Such a terrific, beautiful , unpretentious young lady!
Wow. Did not know that about her.
More likely Sarah as both The Duke of York and The Countess of Wessex appear to be hesitant in publicly waving back.
I don't think so as their boat was travelling a few feet from Granny's boat. More likely their mother or boyfriends waving from the riverside.
