Easy Microwave Hot Chocolate with Cocoa Powder, Sugar, and Milk

This Easy Hot Chocolate recipe is made in the microwave with cocoa powder, sugar, and milk. Use your favorite dairy free alternative if needed. It’s creamy, rich, and full of chocolate flavor.
Full Recipe:
Ingredients
2 Tbs. Water
2 Tbs. Sugar
2 Tbs. Cocoa Powder
Pinch of Salt
1 Cup Milk of Choice or Dairy Free Alternative
Drop or two of Vanilla extract, if desired
Marshmallows, if desired
Instructions:
1. Add water, sugar, and cocoa powder, and salt to a 10-12 oz microwave safe mug.
2. Mix briefly to start dissolving sugar.
3. Microwave on high for 20-30 seconds.
4. Add milk and mix well.
5. Continue to microwave in 30 second intervals stirring each time until hot.
6. Add vanilla extract and marshmallows.
7. Enjoy!

A tiny pinch of salt helps bring out flavors as well. You can use vanilla powder in place of the extract as well ! I always make cocoa from scratch! You can always adjust the sugar level to your personal preference.

Don't need the sugar: use maple syrup.
