Chorus sounds awesome. Sampling looks fun
Nice one Leon! Thanks for using the Strat Today! Be Well All!
Those Korg units seem to have a sound of their own. Very cool!!!
Was waiting on this one! Love these units. Between 85-88 Yngwie used 2 of these in his small rack. The sampling is awesome!
Didn't know that about YJM!
Came for the strat (love that guitar), left with a smile. Not bad, fun. Well said. Korg had their own thing going on. I gravitated more to Digitech but a few friends had Korg gear and they sounded great. 👍
Just startling watching and it already sounds great. I don't think you can play anything bad with effects because you understand them so well. Very cool. I always learn something with these vids. Very cool...
Thanks for sharing kind sir. 🤟💘🤟💘🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟
Love this unit!
Old Korg/Boss units have a nice sound when you overload them. I saw a mini rack Boss parametric equalizer for cheap and had never seen one, but decided to see what it was. Turned out you could drive the input with just the unit itself and also drive the output as well. And it was a pretty neat sound. Especially accompanied by the parametric eq to emphasize some drive worthy frequencies.
Excellent, I love the grit of these. I have the 3000, Daniel Lanois inspired my buying it. Great machine and great demo. I loved your sound on sound , Bill Frisell vibe
Dan Lanois should be a household name, an absolute innovator!
@@LeonTodd I agree 100% such a great talent on every level. Always innovating.
Oh, man, does this unit not take me back. I bought one when it first hit the stores - perhaps about '85. And I can't tell you how many times I stayed up until 3 a.m. tweaking sounds, both clean and using a fuzz or distortion with my Strat. I have demos I made with it and they still sound fantastic and modern. Got it in my music room and haven't used it in 20 years - think I'll see if the bad boy still works! Also, I enjoyed throwing synth sounds through it. They were expensive, for the time, but such a great and diverse effect. If you use it more subtly, in ways that you don't over-saturate your tone and sound, it's amazing. And seems like I hooked it up to two amps to get a stereo effect, which was also fun.
That was my first delay. It’s got a great sound and a nice set of features. I ran mine off the line out of my Mesa Mk IIB then into a Yamaha G50 “back in the day.”
Great rig!
That ambient sampling demo at the end reminded me of Aphex Twin, you just need to add some break-core beats to it and you are done! :D
BYO breakbeat!
I changed this unit for the sdd 3000 stompbox for the dual delay u can get, but the sound of the sdd2000 its smooth and the modulation its way better tho.
Hi Leon, i have the SDD 3000 you can borrow if you wanna do a review in the future, thanks for all the great videos
That would be epic!
Looks like you tried a lot of things except the foot pedal options. Is there something for you there? Besides on off there's a few other sampling tricks imho you could loop your guitar and play above it
put the trig in on the delay thru an out trig out on a drum machine, you'll get a very interesting sound on these early delays in my experience
Oooh that sounds fun!
If i already got the sde330, would you recommend this unit?
Where do I step on it to make it work?
the sampler sounds decent
A few years ago the SDD3000s were only like $100-150 USD, now upwards of $700 on reverb! Should have grabbed one early on lol
There was a time in the early 2000s they were selling for well over $1000. There were serious rumors that The Edge's guitar tech was buying up as many as he could find, driving the price up.
You might wanna check out the "SDD 2000 to 3000 preamp mod".
Do go on!
Your intro that you’ve been using sounds soo good. Did you use the fractal, or ada for it??
Great channel, been following you for a while! Rock n roll
That's "Playing God" from the last Ragdoll full length - main rhythm tracks there were a double of my old 2 channel recto and another double with a splawn nitro.
@@LeonTodd great song!! Thanks for taking your time answering Leon. Keep up your great work!
Legends... Lol..
Cheers 🍻
Hey Leon, If the stereo delay channels are out of phase, wouldn't that, in itself, cause a degradation in tone? It's sounds a bit tinny and metallic to me. Seems odd, or is that what you expected?
It gives you a "wider than stereo" psychoacoustic effect
Love your Strat Leon. Been my guitar of choice for 40+ years. Can I ask what pickups you are using? Also, as always best way for me to start my day brother. Thank you. Have a great day!
Suhr Michael Landau pickups
Thanks Leon
How does this compare to axe fx delay with modulation ?
The mod on this gets pretty extreme pretty fast. Wouldn't be too hard to cop on the Axe - try the vintage digital delay mode
How does this model compare to the SDE1000?
It has 2 fewer knobs.
What year is that strat??? I love it!
1977
anyone has done a fractal preset to emulated this?
I still like the DEP 5 Digital Reverb unit is much better
I love the DEP-5 so much!
nice one. actually sounds pretty good, i think. the sampling thing can get interesting, especially if you play stuff back lower/slower than original. check out david syvian's "cover me with flowers". lots of little sampled fragments of guitar in there, many detuned. czcams.com/video/mdtOVLJl478/video.html
Far out I LOVE this, there's this week's album for the car sorted.
@HA!!! There's the toilet comment again!!!
fact 90% of CZcams viewers are on the toilet in mono.. 😂
Late to the party
never too late.. I just got hold of one these SSD-2000 s
@@Radar23 lol I just meant I watched the video much later after it came out than usual
2000 -- a lot of talking - no instruction on the unit
