Few months back I successfully did this by watching some random CZcams video, but I didn't know that I have to revert my IPv4 settings to automatically identify a network, because of this I was not able to use my internet via ethernet, it took me 1 week to identify this. It is nice to see that you that you should revert the settings.

So here portable devices are gaining its value but high performance portable disks are too expensive. Still data centers are works under SAN why? Because it's connected through filberchannels not by traditional ethos and disks. NAS is always a headache even it's connected through network not by dedicated routing fc ports. Pendrives are focusly developed for small medium data transfer to satisfy portability not for performance and data efficiency. So disk performance is too important than medium a data transfer it's either pendive mmc or hdd or SSD. You can send 1Gig data to etho port per second but if disk cannot perform well then data pumping out from sender rejected by interface which is technically called discards and errors.
Yeah, even in the data center we don't rely on just TCP file sharing mechanism, there are other protocol say SMB for file sharing which is based on RDMA for overcoming some of these troubles. But for local home use this is sufficient.

In case you can't find your network go-to control panel => Network and sharing centre => Advanced sharing setting => here just turn on the "network discovery" and "file sharing"
As per basics of subnetting, in a network there should be one gateway address, one broadcast address and remaining valid IP addresses which we can use it for end devices like PC. So don't use each other's address as a gateway address. People might argue, why we care about gateway address within a network. When you use only two devices, it is ok. But when you try to connect more devices in a network, it will not work. So always use one gateway address per network and don't use the gateway address for end devices. Happy networking 😉

I used to do this at Linux and Unix machines, it's a normal task every day I connect from terminal, yet this method is good for home network. a2D explanation is simple and crisp.

In the 90's the network adapters needed a so called "Cross over cable" which would match the Tx and Rx lines on both sides. Modern Network adapters are able to do this via a normal cable
nice. even my 15k asus motherboard now cant do this without a crossover cable, tried and tried and tried and gave up and then with 100s of videos being searched found that it needs a crossover cable and had to buy that for about 400rs. That seemed to solve the problem. Still i wonder how windows, which makes software for everyday people, make such a complex process of getting to transfer files between computers. It should be a plug and play process. This is bullshit. 100s of tweaks and settings to get file sharing to work.

Good video bro 🎉 know this since my college days. When I used this 12 years ago while i was working for a bank, people were crazy to see this. Basic networking, every bank/bug company connected with each system. If you are using home wifi you can enable file sharing between wifi router , phone and all pcs.
It depends on both Storage device R/W speed and Network Speed in the sense which one has the lowest speed i.e bottleneck. Usually the most widely used ethernet is 1Gbps which is around 125MiB/sec, so if any Storage device has a higher R/W speed (SATA & NVMe SSDs), then ofcourse the network is the bottleneck, otherwise if a person uses an old 5400 RPM HDD which in most cases doesn't have a 125MiB/sex R/W speed then in this case the HDD is the bottleneck.
If u get" couldn't connect anonymous" ,make sure in ur advanced sharing settings -> all networks -> enable public folder sharing and disable password protected sharing in your desktop. Thank me later❤❤

I personally use Nearby share for windows for image sharing btw Pcs and mobiles. This is very resourceful for Pc to PC transfers.
