this helped me a lot by realizing that people do eventually get past bullying. i think being nice to people is a lot more rewarding than just being horrible to people for no reason
3 months ago this guy who bullied me my freshman year of high school (16 years ago) who I have not even thought about since he was a total douche, DM'd me on IG and apologized for "his actions in 2007" and it made me laugh so hard because like clearly I was living in his head rent free for so many years and he had so many regrets about his own actions. I really am a firm believer that bullies are facing their own shit whether it be at home or just within themselves so I feel worse for them than I do for my younger self.
this is so true, my mom is a teacher and most of her students that have behavioral issues or who pick on other kids have a super rough home life:/ learning that from her made me rethink so many interactions i had in school
I can relate soo much. One time his girl younger than me in middle school grabbed my face and wiped my eyebrows and makeup with her thumbs so my makeup was all smeared and gone. I guess she was curious if i was still pretty under my makeup lmao.

As for high school I had people talk behind my back cause I didn't have that many friends cause I didn't vibe with a lot people. I was kind of in my own world and I was also just a lot more mature than most at that age. High school experience wasn't terrible, tho cause I had a small group of friends and that was all I really needed. It all just made me realize being different is okay and you don't need to be loved by everyone, but by the few that matter.

I know some people who got bullied pretty bad growing up or grew being the only Asian in the neighborhood and then being bullied because of it. Not to say my experience isn’t valid but I recognize other people’s as well!
That really sucks, but thanks for sharing! I let my own experiences of bullying change me into someone I didn't like. But one day I just decided that no matter what happened to me, I was never going to let it change me. One thing I try to remind myself is that you can never run out of kindness :)

I also went to visit her and she did nothing that she promised me we would do after I spent my money to visit her I kept a positive attitude tho the whole trip to just make the best of it even tho we hardly went out and when we did she took me to do her returns at the mall..but this and so many other things building up and I just feel very taken advantage of and just treated pretty shitty she texts me and ft me but I haven’t responded since she is back a day or 2 ago I don’t want to start a problem but Idk I just feel very hurt by her

Another older guy i worked with who's in his 60's told me when he was in high school the Italian kids in his class used to strip him and take his shoes and he had to go home shoeless. I don't remember being bullied, more like perverted dominating behaviour from hot boys in school that went just a little too far. i guess a form of bullying as well. It seems like bullying has always existed. Sadly people can me so mean and shitty!! God bless those people, they were probably shamed or ridiculed at home themselves and need to do it to others to feel better about themselves. I like your take on it , that you were kind of happy it was you it happened to as you can take it better than another potentially could. Thats sweet, so empathetic and enlightening that you were able at such a young age to take it with such a buddha state of mind.

When i was younger i went to daycare from 8-13 and there were teenage cheerleaders who also went to the same place for cheer, and they would tell me “let’s do a stunt” and then they’d all pick me up and swing me and then they let go and threw me across the room. another time there was a rumor going around in hs that i had a 3some?? i didn’t. and also that i was gay? i’m straight. so there’s that.
and then another time my best friends at the time in hs created a group chat without me and talked crap. another time when i went to the mental heath hospital because i was extremely depressed on my birthday, a girl told guys in the soccer gc that i went to an asylum.
I was walking home and had someone throw a slice of cheese at my head while driving by. another time I had black hair for a bit and kids would sing emo songs when I walked by 4 people chased me down in a car while I ran and called me the P word and threatened to jump me lol and I've been bullied for being chubby when I was younger a lot, but none of it phased me Im chillen and im pretty ambitious actually now.

I was bullied too. In middle school I have braces and my main bully was the one picked on me. I just wanted them off and I did, I felt better.
