    Those were the days for the BBC. What a show Grandstand was too.

    This, of course, was Peter O'Sullevan's penultimate Grand National commentary.
    And Des meant the *Brazilian* Grand Prix - the Belgian GP didn't take place until August, and pole position there went to Damon Hill's Williams team-mate and championship rival Jacques Villeneuve.

    Just shows the decline of BBC Sport. Des is closing out the National, and he mentions the Grand Prix and the FA Cup SF, all in one weekend on the BBC. Sad really.

      That's what's going wrong at the BBC. Slashing sports rights left right and centre. Only the cup semi final with the National and Horse Racing on ITV and F1 on Sky (Ch 4 Highlights)
