There was a disagreement with the church about Christmas trees when I was in my teens which resulted in our family walking out of the church. When I came back a few Sundays later on my own, no one talked to me. I was 15. It shattered my faith and I walked out for 16 years. It took me too long to come back and the worst thing is knowing when Jesus asks me for an account of that time, my answer will be based on the actions of other church folk and not on His grace. 😪 I had to rebuild my faith from the ground up because I hadn't made this important distinction. Thank you for speaking up about this because if you're not careful, a dysfunctional church can leave you with an account you cannot explain. And if you're not seeking for yourself and only keep your eye on the pulpit, you're going to unknowingly tie your faith to something within the church rather than God and his righteousness.

I've always Seek God for confirmation and he confirms. Especially if you're seeking his will and not your own. I think today our desire are too personal. I find the more I pray for his will to be done in world events the more it helps me.
