Hw much money would you have to be born into before you could afford a home like this? Too bad Nantucket has become a bubble for the unthinkably rich, creating a life of immense instability and struggle for anyone from a working class background.
This is true, and as a Vermonter I know how wealthy second home owners can price working native voters out of buying homes. But it’s also the tourism that helps or even completely sustains the economy for working people in places like Vermont or Nantucket. Nantucket doesn’t have whaling or even enough fishing it’s the tourists who eat at the restaurants, buy the art, shop at the stores etc... And of course the carpenters, landscapers etc that maintain these homes. It’s not as bad in Vermont but I do think that’s something both places need to grapple with.
Question, home tours are not necessarily for selling the home and the owner wants to show the world their home. It's their choice to have pics of their home going around. Of their choice and accord?
My only suggestion would be leave out the narration as this guy sounds like he’s less than thrilled to be there. Besides the obvious video speaking for itself. Any additional information you could’ve captioned at the bottom.
Omg!! It's JUST as beautiful as MV!!!
I was born & raised on mv.
Miss the place a lot...but as it was in '70s...lol.
