Mr. Paul Renfrew seems to be happy that I have left the faith of my forefathers, now he wants me to take another move to deny the existence of any deity, and moreover to accept Christ myth theory. While I sincerely thank Mr. Renfrew for inviting us to ponder over our beliefes. But sorry to cut it out Mr. Renfrew.
      1) Our universe is so well-organized, from big galaxies to tiny microscopic chromosomes. Such world could not have been created coincidentally. This is no different from one claiming that ink was coincidentally dropped over a paper, giving us a written masterpiece of literature, say Shakespeare for instace! Does that sound plausible for you?
      2) Denying the existence of Jesus is pretty silly. Even Atheist/Agnostic scholars now, such as Bart Ehrman, confirm the existence of Jesus. One can even claim that the sun doesn't exist, but should we believe him?

That video they made, "The Gospel for Mormons" really helped me when I was coming out of Mormonism. I had only been a member of the LDS Church for about 6 months and had found out some of strange beliefs or as the Mormons call it, "deeper doctrine" that the missionaries do not share with potential converts or new members. I was really upset after finding out the deeper truths about Mormon doctrine and at that point I wasn't sure if I even believed in God. That video as well as other videos of Jeff's really helped bring me to Christianity and realize that just because the Mormon church was false, it did not mean that Jesus wasn't real. I have shared the video with a few of my Mormon friends when they have asked what my reasons for coming out of the religion are. It is a great video with a gentle and non-confrontational approach. :)

Belief that YOU are in the "Family of God" and actually thinking that you can judge who is as good as you are, by this, is tribal and divisive. *People need to humble themselves:* “And whoso knocketh, to him will he open; and the wise, and the learned, and they that are rich, who are puffed up because of their learning, and their wisdom, and their riches-yea, they are they whom he despiseth; and save they shall cast these things away and consider themselves fools before God and come down in the depths of *HUMILITY,* he will not open unto them.”
“Yea, and many did preach with exceedingly great power and authority unto the bringing down many of them into the depths of *HUMILITY* to be the *HUMBLE* followers of God and the Lamb.”
“For the natural man is an enemy to God and has been from the fall of Adam, and will be forever and ever, unless he yields to the enticings of the Holy Spirit and putteth off the natural man and becometh a saint through the atonement of Christ the Lord, and becometh as a child, submissive, meek, *HUMBLE,* patient, full of love, willing to submit to all things which the Lord seeth fit to inflict upon him, even as a child doth submit to his father.”
“And again, believe that ye must repent of your sins and forsake them and *HUMBLE* yourselves before God; and ask in sincerity of heart that he would forgive you; and now, if you believe all these things see that ye do them.
“And again I say unto you as I have said before, that as ye have come to the knowledge of the glory of God, or if ye have known of his goodness and have tasted of his love, and have received a remission of your sins, which causeth such exceedingly great joy in your souls, even so I would that ye should remember and always retain in remembrance the greatness of God, and your own nothingness, and his goodness and long-suffering towards you unworthy creatures, and *HUMBLE* yourselves even in the depths of *HUMILITY,* calling on the name of the Lord daily, and standing steadfastly in the faith of that which is to come, which was spoken by the mouth of the angel.”
“Have ye walked, keeping yourselves blameless before God? Could ye say, if ye were called to die at this time, within yourselves, that ye have been sufficiently *HUMBLE,* that your garments have been cleansed and made white through the blood of Christ?”
“Therefore, blessed are they who *HUMBLE* themselves without being compelled to be *HUMBLE;* or rather, in other words, blessed is he that believeth in the word of God and is baptized without stubbornness of heart, yea, without being brought to know the word, or even compelled to know before they will believe.”
“And thus they went forth, and the people did *HUMBLE* themselves because of their words, insomuch that they were highly favored of the Lord, and thus they were free from wars and contentions among themselves, yea, even for the space of four years.”
“Nevertheless they did fast and pray oft and did wax stronger and stronger in their *HUMILITY* and firmer and firmer in the faith of Christ unto the filling their souls with joy and consolation, yea, even to the purifying and the sanctification of their hearts, which sanctification cometh because of their yielding their hearts unto God.”
“And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be *HUMBLE;* and my grace is sufficient for all men that *HUMBLE* themselves before me; for if they *HUMBLE* themselves before me and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them.”

*Everyone will be resurrected:* “And thus God breaketh the bands of death, having gained the victory over death; giving the Son power to make intercession for the children of men . . . . For behold, he surely must die that salvation may come; yea, it behooveth him and becometh expedient that he dieth to bring to pass the resurrection of the dead that thereby men may be brought into the presence of the Lord.
“Yea, behold, this death bringeth to pass the resurrection and redeemeth all mankind from the first death-that spiritual death; for all mankind, by the fall of Adam being cut off from the presence of the Lord, are considered as dead, both as to things temporal and to things spiritual.
“But behold, the resurrection of Christ redeemeth mankind, yea, even all mankind, and bringeth them back into the presence of the Lord.
“Yea, and it bringeth to pass the condition of repentance that whosoever repenteth the same is not hewn down and cast into the fire; but whosoever repenteth not is hewn down and cast into the fire; and there cometh upon them again a spiritual death, yea, a second death, for they are cut off again as to things pertaining to righteousness.”
“Therefore repent ye, repent ye, lest by knowing these things and not doing them ye shall suffer yourselves to come under condemnation and ye are brought down unto this second death.”
“And because of the redemption of man, which came by Jesus Christ, they are brought back into the presence of the Lord; yea, this is wherein all men are redeemed, because the death of Christ bringeth to pass the resurrection, which bringeth to pass a redemption from an endless sleep, from which sleep all men shall be awakened by the power of God when the trump shall sound; and they shall come forth, both small and great, and all shall stand before his bar, being redeemed and loosed from this eternal band of death, which death is a temporal death.”
“And if Christ had not risen from the dead, or have broken the bands of death that the grave should have no victory and that death should have no sting, there could have been no resurrection.
“But there is a resurrection, therefore, the grave hath no victory and the sting of death is swallowed up in Christ.
“He is the light and the life of the world; yea, a light that is endless that can never be darkened; yea, and also a life which is endless that there can be no more death.”
“And because of the way of deliverance of our God, the Holy One of Israel, this death, of which I have spoken, which is the temporal, shall deliver up its dead; which death is the grave.
“And this death of which I have spoken, which is the spiritual death, shall deliver up its dead; which spiritual death is hell; wherefore, death and hell must deliver up their dead, and hell must deliver up its captive spirits, and the grave must deliver up its captive bodies, and the bodies and the spirits of men will be restored one to the other; and it is by the power of the resurrection of the Holy One of Israel.
“O how great the plan of our God! For on the other hand, the paradise of God must deliver up the spirits of the righteous, and the grave deliver up the body of the righteous; and the spirit and the body is restored to itself again, and all men become incorruptible, and immortal, and they are living souls having a perfect knowledge, like unto us in the flesh save it be that our knowledge shall be perfect.
“Wherefore, we shall have a perfect knowledge of all our guilt, and our uncleanness, and our nakedness; and the righteous shall have a perfect knowledge of their enjoyment, and their righteousness, being clothed with purity, yea, even with the robe of righteousness.
“And it shall come to pass that when all men shall have passed from this first death unto life, insomuch as they have become immortal, they must appear before the judgment-seat of the Holy One of Israel; and then cometh the judgment, and then must they be judged according to the holy judgment of God.”
The last words of the last prophet to write in the Book of Mormon are these: “And now I bid unto all, farewell. I soon go to rest in the paradise of God, until my spirit and body shall again reunite and I am brought forth triumphant through the air to meet you before the pleasing bar of the great Jehovah, the Eternal Judge of both quick and dead.”

It's lightly touched on in this discussion, but it's true that many followers of various religions are furthering themselves from solid doctrine within their faith. It's evident in many of the recorded discussions between Durbin and the Mormons he witnesses to. The next generation of religious/spiritual adherents is gradually and consistently leaning toward a one world religion. Truth is relative/experience is truth/truth evolves. It's good I think, to bring people back to what the original writings of their religion, but it's important to recognize that according to the new relative evolving truth perspective people can be "Mormon" and still reject doctrine, just as professing "Christians" do with Biblical truths. This looney goosey approach to truth is so difficult to witness to. People tout it as love and acceptance and contrastly to adhere to absolute truth is seen as hateful. I really appreciate the clarification on Biblical truths here (because it is powerful, it's the Word of God). But I suppose the point I'm poorly getting to is that I'd like to see more on how to address this waffling "new spirituality" as it shows it's face within Mormonism (or any other religion).

I have been a Mormon most of my life and have known many twists of anti-Mormonism. I have been aware through the years that Mormons are the first to stand at the pulpits and say that we are not perfect, but I do believe it is the true organization with imperfect members who strive and sacrifice to provide the rich fruits that come from the teachings of Jesus Christ... The emphasis they have on loving God and putting Him first... Loving our families and our country. The emphasis on serving and loving others and striving to be Christ-like through service. If we don't join together as Christians and fight the real enemy, the secularism and evil that has come into our world in these last days instead of wasting that time arguing who is right and who is wrong in the churches - We will lose.. All ' religions' have a dark side. You can look up Calvinism, Catholicism and any other man-made ism you want and you can find their dark side. There are many books written on it and some people waste their time talking about it... What we need to dwell on and put our energy into is working together against the tide of evil against us today. Now that is true love.. And that is an intelligent use of our energy to do good and endure to the end.

@@mekisavaliga3003 where to start. I guess we will start with your assumptions about the Bible. If you are referring to verses 'taken out' of the KJV, the problem is that they are not in the earliest manuscripts, they were textural notes that were added to ensure the text was preserved as the scribes didn't always know what was original and what was added. We can tell through critical analysis what actually happened in those situations. You can use the KJV, NASB, CSB, NKJV, NIV, or most other texts and still confirm the Christian doctrines. 99% of textural variants change absolutely nothing in the text and no textural variant changes the doctrine whatsoever.
We know Luke was a physician.
Andrew, Peter, James and John, the sons of Zebedee, worked as fishermen. Matthew 4:18-22 relates that Andrew and Peter were fishing, plying their trade when called, and James and John were mending nets with their father.
The Bible states that these two men weren’t just fishermen, but business owners, along with their father, for they employed others in the business.
Thomas, Nathaniel and Philip may have also worked as fishermen, for they were all together and fishing when Jesus appeared to them in John 21:2-8, following his resurrection.
Matthew, called Levi in Luke, worked as a tax collector for the Roman government. He would have acquired some education and reputation to achieve this job.
His job provided him with considerable wealth, because tax collectors earned a portion of what they collected, as noted in the story of Zacchaeus, another famous tax collector who followed Jesus.
Matthew invited Jesus home and threw a party that included many of his sinful friends. Matthew’s wealth may have helped fund Jesus' ministry.
Simon was known as the Zealot, not strictly a profession, and as a Canaanite.
Zealots engaged in politics and anarchy, attempting to overthrow the Roman government. He may have been a politician or a revolutionary.
When he joined Jesus, he remained zealous, but with allegiance to Jesus rather than political revolution.
Judas served as the treasurer in Jesus' band, and John 12:4-6 identifies him as a thief and an embezzler. The Bible doesn’t tell us what he did prior to becoming an apostle.
Each of the Gospels identify him as the one who betrayed Jesus.
Matthew’s Gospel (Matthew 27:3-10) notes that Judas suffered remorse over his betrayal and hung himself after he tried to give the money back to the high priests. They used the 30 pieces of silver to buy a burial site for the poor.
The Bible provides no information on the professions of Philip, Bartholomew, Thomas, Thaddaeus or James, the son of Alphaeus.
It does provide information about Paul, who became an apostle after the death and resurrection of Jesus. He was a Pharisee and may have taught religion or worked in political office. During his missionary journeys, Paul supported himself as a tent maker according to Acts 18:1-3.
All were guided in what they wrote by the Holy Spirit.
"Men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit"
You may want to figure out what you are talking about before you bring something like that up.

@@crew4jc The issue is not the number of apostles, the Early Church had at least 15 of them, but possibly had 22 apostles.
The key issue is that the Church of Jesus Christ claims that its apostles (this includes the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve) are successors to the biblical apostles, since Joseph Smith, upon receiving the Melchizedek priesthood, would have been commissioned as an apostle by Peter, James and John and therefore these titles are not symbolic, but literal.
Despite how unbelievable the solution may seem, the problem presented by Latter-day Saints (apostolic continuity) is true.
The Scriptures say that Jesus is the main cornerstone (Eph. 2:20), however there are other foundations that form the Church together with Him, that is, apostles and prophets among other offices as indicated in (Eph. 4:11 ). But if any of these foundations are excluded, then there is no Church, for the Church is the union of all these pieces, so you cannot say to the prophet ''I don't need you'', for Jesus says that whoever rejects him sent, rejects him, therefore, evangelicals like other Christians by rejecting the prophets are ultimately rejecting Christ himself.
One could argue that the prophets ended with John the Baptist based on (Luke 16:16), however this is eisegesis. After the prophet John, there are at least 3 prophets called by name in the Book of Acts of the Apostles, they are Agabus, Judas and Silas, besides, to explain what (Luke 16:16) really meant is very simple, the ''law and the prophets'' in the passage does not refer to the Mosaic Law and the prophets, but to the Pentateuch and the prophetic books. The Hebrew Bible at the time of Jesus was divided into three groups, they were known as the Law, the Prophets and the Psalms, in this way, the passage explains how they (the Law and the Prophets) prophesied until John, this is the meaning of ''were until'' in the verse.
As proof of this, we can quote the scripture in (Matthew 11:12-13) which says the following:
And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violence takes it by force. For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.
Since these interpretations are false, we know that the prophets and apostles are not finished and therefore the attitude of the Latter-day Saints is consistent with the biblical testimony and there is a greater chance of them being right than others.

James White quotes Ignatius at about 21 min 35 seconds "generate and unregenerate from Mary and from God" and says this is trinitarian language and can't be understood any other way. Just before this he criticises mormons for cutting and pasting things without their context. James does not say anything about the context of his quote. How many listeners will accept what he says without checking up the context? Justin Martyr and Tertullian to my mind do not talk as if they are trinitarians, for example Tertullian says "there was a time when there was no son" the context being that there was a time when God was not Lord because the was nothing for him to lord over before he created anything and there was a time when he was not a judge because there was a time when there was no sin to judge. It seems to me that we are going to have to read these church fathers ourselves if we are going to find out what they really believed since different scholars today are teaching different things about them.
Just a few minutes later Jeff says the bible teaches from beginning to end, that there is only one God but does not quote any passages to support his view that this one God is three persons because there don't seem to be any In the old testament God says " I was alone" and in the new testament there are four pasages that seem to identify the one God as the father namely,Ephesians 4v6 one God and father of all, 1 Tim 2v5 one God and one mediator between God and men the man Christ Jesus, John 17v3 that they may know thee the only true God and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent, 1 Cor 8 v 6 but to us one God the father and on Lord Jesus Christ. I am not aware of any passages that teach as clearly as these passages that there is one God, the father son and holy spirit. No doubt Jeff and James can produce verses that can be made to look as if Jesus or the holy spirit are God but none quite so clear as the ones I've quoted. If as clear a verse could be produced then we would have a contradiction. My method is to let clear verses override unclear ones and I would be interested to hear what other peoples methods are for example do ten hints at Jesus deity override a clear verse to the contrary. I look forward to hearing any sensible comments. Thanks

@Tim just Tim I guess that depends on how you believe God knows things. I don't think any of us understand how he knows things we just know that God knows past, present and future.
As vs Job 38:7 points out that Gods children were with God prior to being birthed into Earthly existence. LDS theology makes sense of this by explaining how God knew Job as a spirit child who is known to God and Job in turn knows his creator.

    • @Apbt-rv7zw
      @Apbt-rv7zw Před 3 lety +1

@Tim just Tim I understand your prejudice toward Joseph and your beliefs as Calvinism teachings sway you toward their theology. But to be accurate vs 7 in Job 38 states sons not angels.
      Job 38
7 When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?
Obviously there are translations in Hebrew for sons and angels and the translations are very different as you can see:
Angel's of God = In Judaism, angels (Hebrew: מַלְאָךְ mal’akh, plural: מלאכים mal’akhim)
Sons of God = Sons of the Gods (Hebrew: בני האלהים‎, romanized: bənê ĕlōhîm, literally: "sons of the gods"
You see the spelling and words are very different.
As to the other point I know Calvinism doesn't understand the preexistant earth life and all that means is that Calvinism lacks knowledge or understanding on this doctrine. Because LDS doctrine gives us clear understanding to a pre-earth life doesn't make us better than any other church. It simply gives us lens that illuminates scripture that others may struggle with.
We know we are children of God as stated in Romans
      Romans 8
16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
Knowing we are Gods spirit children Job shows us that we sang and shouted first joy with God in the heavens prior to the world being formed.
      Ephesians 1
4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
I know you will have your theology that won't allow you to reconcile your beliefs outside of Calvinism and that's ok. The main thing being is that you along with myself have a strong belief and love for our Lord Jesus and perhaps that is sufficient for our common purpose at this time.

26:46 "The Bible teaches from cover to cover there is only one God."
Genesis 1:26 "Let US make man in OUR image, according to OUR likeness."
To be honest, there are just too many scriptures that are available to openly question the validity of the Trinitarian concept/doctrine. I can understand the idea as to why someone would lean in that direction but it is too much of reach for me to conclude (based on the overwhelming number of passages) that appear (IMO) to clearly teach that Jesus (Jehovah) is a seperate individual in body and form than his Father, God the Father. (Matt. 3:16-17, Matt. 16:13-18, Mark 9:2-7, Luke 9:28-36, John 14:6-13, John 17:6-11, John 20:11-16 ... just to name a few, there are dozens).
27:05 "There is a fundamental ontological chasm that exists between the uncreated Eternal God and everthing else which is made which includes mankind. We are not in a spectrum, He is not simply exhalted farther down the eternal law of progression. This kind of belief absolutely utterly unknown amongs anyone before Jospeh Smith, who claimed to be a Christian."
Genesis 3:5 "For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil."
Geneis 3:22 "And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of US, to know good and evil:"
Moses would pre-date Joseph Smith by approximately 3500 years.
I often wonder how the teaching of Paul is applied when we consider putting limits on what God is capable of turing us into or giving to us. 1 Cor. 2:9 "Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him." Is there some limit placed upon God? Through his Son, Jesus Christ, we receive the gift of the resurrection that will come upon all mankind and through those that exercise faith and repentence on Christ they may overcome the effects of sin. These immortal and made perfect beings will dwell in the presense of the Son and will in turn receive the Father. Yet these immortal, made perfect beings, will somehow have limits placed upon them...by whom? Once again, his idea escapes me that I can not imagine God the Eternal Father is somewho limited in what he can give to his sons and daughters who love Him and have turned their lives over to His Son, even Jesus Christ.

For instance, a man who grows up in a place where no one has heard of Jesus, yet he does good works for his whole life, in the eyes of a Christian will burn in hell. Because he happened to have been born in the wrong place? Think about what that means. On the other hand, a Christian man could have murdered and raped children, every day of his life, but on his deathbed, if he accepts Christ, he will be in heaven. See how twisted and insane it can get when human minds are effected by this? The man who does charity, never tells even a soul, and lives his life without harming others , is what every decent person should aspire to. The Christian who spouts one of the 45,000 denominations that Christianity has in an effort to save others, isn't well thought out. We KNOW what good is and we know what evil is. Evil wants others taught a lesson for not believing what they do. And what they believe is limited to who they grew up around. Did Tertullian ever say that Jesus is not eternal? Not at all! These people (Mormons) love to twist everything including the Scriptures. Tertullian said that the term "Lord" was dependant on the creation existing already, because the "role" of Lord requires something to be Lord of. But these simple minded people (Mormons) want to ignore Tertullian's position include the understanding that Jesus is the "Logos", and therefore has been eternally God, and with God. Just as God's Fatherhood is dependant on the existence of His Son. But Tertullian knows that God is the EVERLASTING FATHER, meaning that Jesus is ETERNALLY BEGOTTEN OF THE FATHER.

Deutero-Isaiah is not denying the ontological existence of other deities; rather, he is denying their efficacy and legitimacy.[2] The language used by Deutero-Isaiah and Deuteronomy (“I am and there is no other,” “there is none beside me,” etc.) is also used in reference to Babylon, Moab (Isa 47:8, 10), and Nineveh (Zeph 2:15). The vernacular is placed in the mouths of Israel’s opponents, but the point is clear: these cities are not denying the existence of other cities, but rather that they are at all relevant in comparison (see Ps 89:6 and Isa 40:25). Deuteronomy 32 provides further indication that this is the correct reading. In v. 21 YHWH states, “They made me jealous with a non-god (בלא־אל) . . . so I will make them jealous with a non-people (בלא־עם).” The nation being referenced (Assyria-Babylon) is not one that does not exist, but one that is inconsequential in the eyes of YHWH. That this is part of the same propaganda is supported by v. 39 (ואין אלהים עמדי) and by Isa 40:17: “All the nations are as nothing (כאין) before him, he considers them as less than nothing (מאפס) and deserted (ותהו).”

@ 11:35-11:45 That's where I am & my very bright, newly baptized daughters! I just don't understand it!
I was so connected to the church after my whole family was baptized & sealed together in the Temple in the 70's. Later in the 90's, out of extreme pressure, I got married in the Temple. It wasn't being married in the Temple that was so disturbing, but that my Bishop was coaxed by my boyfriend to talk to me about how I should get married "Now" instead of going on a health mission that I soo desperately wanted to serve! This crushed my dreams! I was weak! It seemed like he knew exactly what buttons to push! I'm ashamed to say that I went through with it, & on my wedding night, my husband raped me before I could get my wedding dress off... I was a virgin.
He was so abusive - he locked me in our tiny apartment, put foil on the windows, had affairs & wouldn't come home ---- all night. When he did come home around 5 a.m. he would jump in the shower & back to work he'd go [so he said]. He would rape me over & over, so badly he put me in the hospital; my doctor had to tell him to give me a break! He would insult me in front of his friends [one time we were all in the hot tub] because I had small breasts. I couldn't call home [he disconnected the phone], I had to abandon my family & friends, & the only friends he wanted me to have were some of his ex-girlfriends & his friend's wives. I couldn't eat because I had become so ill & depressed, so my Doctor admitted me to the hospital again, & this time I was black & blue & ripped up so bad, & I couldn't stop throwing up. They thought I caught something while on our honeymoon in Mexico, but they couldn't pin it, & later they suspected it was poisoning... You see, later on, I found out that the only reason he married me was because his father liked me. They had an agreement that if his father ok'd the girl he married he would give him a huge inheritance, otherwise he would receive nothing. His father was close to dying when we met... I liked his parents, & am grateful for their love towards me. It was soo sad this had to happen 'cause I wouldn't ever see or talk to them ever again. R.I.P. Domonic.
I left John after 3 months of marriage - I was so sick, couldn't walk without assistance & one night I actually passed in my sleep, yep! While we were in bed sleeping, I started leaving my body, the room got light, I kept trying to grab my pillow, my body - even John! But my spirit body / arms couldn't hang on to anything. It's just like in the movies... then I rose to the ceiling, bounced off the walls for a bit & drifted through a tunnel----- I cried out "I'm not ready yet! I haven't completed my mission, I haven't even had my children yet!!! I have soo much still to do!" Then just before I got to the end of this tunnel where a group of people were awaiting my arrival, a calm voice said, "Leave your husband & find your Own Family!" And that very next morning, after John left for work, I gave a message to a neighbor [who was very kind to me] to call my Dad to come immediately & get me...
So, I obeyed Heavenly Father - I left John.... Thank God!
After that, it was as if something inside me woke-up - I had so many problems with some of the church's ideas & some of their members, but there are soo many wonderful members too! The beautiful ones [I mean internally of cousre] outweigh those who are screwballs! lol
Thank you for listening ~ Peace!

Hey, Jeff! LET ME KNOW IF YOU THINK THIS IDEA/THOUGHT/REVELATION IS DEMONIC OR HEAVENLY, PLEASE:
I'm going to start teaching and debating online here (CZcams) too, in the near future; but as a relatively new Christian I am really scared of God and I don't know if He's testing me with the thoughts/ideas/revelations I've been dwelling on recently, or if they are material He really wants me to write/speak from. Let me know if you think the following is heavenly or demonic:
    ---
    "EXPLANATION OF THE TRINITY"
Perhaps God in three parts is not weird, but that we are weird, because he made us as one.
THE THOUGHT; the brain; the consciousness; God, the Father. The way that you think, the way you love, everything you experience, everything you feel, the emotions you have in your mind for the world and for all creation is similar to the entity that is God.
THE WORD; the voice; the manifestation of the thought; the Son. The thought gives birth to the word; the Father gives birth to the Son. The Word is also God; it is the expression of the thought which is true. When someone hears you speak, they don't say, “that’s Karl’s word”, they just say "that's Karl". It’s proof of your existence. You are nothing without your ability to express yourself. "I am who I am". Imagine your voice becoming its own entity; constantly expressing and re-expressing only what’s been thought before by you. That's the Son; that's who Jesus is. Like it says; "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God... and the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us... " Jesus is the Word; and he became flesh. He is the one, the thing that can share ideas. He shares the thoughts of God. Jesus was able to speak things and do things that the Father had thought/felt before, "Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also does in like manner."
THE POWER; the body; the creator; the Holy Spirit; THE LOVE OF GOD MANIFEST; the one who acts it out. The things he does is God. The body, alone, cannot do anything. The consciousness desires it or commands it to be done.
All three of these things make you who you are. Each one separately is not you, but is also you at the same time. Your voice does not act on its own, it acts when you want to express yourself. In the same way, your body doesn’t do something on its own unless you want it to. However, your word and your body still have power over you because your consciousness is nothing without a way to express itself; creating things, acting out your feelings, your thoughts, your emotions. You need them and they need you; your life; your existence is the constant relationship between who you think you are, what your voice says you are, and how you act in accordance.

There was no Bible before Moses. All that means is that as many later Bible books speak of how their records are from previous record-books no longer existing, so too Moses gathered what he wrote from all he read in previous books. He then assures his book survives by saying copy this book 600,000 times on vellum. This is opposite what an egyptian would do, put it in a sarcophagus coffin to preserve it by method means of physics instead of method means of numbers in multiplicative copies.

Also the belief you can only approach the cross of Christ through an ordained mediator and that you must do this as a means of maintaining salvation is also against Christ own words. We don’t need to go much into the video to know what this whole message is about and its origin. It comes from the resentments that Christen-doom has against Joseph Smith for telling the truth about what God had said referig to all the churches in the time of the firs vision... Now, Joseph Smith never said that God is a lier, but Durbin is making God a lier by saying that the bible talks about a God only, yet in the very first book of the bible we find this flagrant “contradiction”, from God? Not at all, but from Mr. Durbin indeed: a) Genesis 1:1 and b) Genesis 1:26-27
    a) 1 “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth....”
    b) 26 “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.“
From this two verse in Genesis (in the KJV of the bible) the whole protestant dogma-doctrine agains the Jesus Christ restoration of all things through Joseph Smith, should be debunked and buried for the ages, and without any doubt that any furder arguments from that dogma-doctrine are plain pharisaic works happening again in the last days against Jesus Christ divine mission and works... But let us analyze those verses from the bible in Genesis: verse one opens aparently talking about just one God, and the next 24 verses keep that “singular” God acting by him self till verse 26, when suddenly the lonely God changes nouns from singular to plural: 26 And God said, Let US make man in OUR image, after OUR likeness... But things get even more interesting when in verse 27 we are told that God, again in singular noun, created man: MALE and FEMALE at his own image; male and female: 27 “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.” Is God or his scribe-prophet Moses playing games with us by contradicting their words so obviously in these scriptures? Or there is a deep meaning to be only understood by those that pay attention, are honest, and humble to pray and ask God for revelation and meaning? To the average reader should be more than clear that the scripture in verse 26 implies the existence of more than one God to whom God is talking and inviting to participate in the process of the creation of a man and a woman at their image and alikeness and that means: in their appearance and their essence or nature. Being this declaration by God the way it is, it not just tells about the fact of a plurality of Gods, but also tells about the two different divine genders: male and female. Unless the “professors” of the law prefer to believe, and teach about a hermaphrodite God; you never know what to expect from the apologetic anti-latter day saint of Jesus Christ modern christian protestant evangelists... So, these very first biblical scriptures, and they are not the only ones, teach us about the plurality of Gods, and the male and female nature of those Gods, which by it self, this teaching is implying the existence of a Father God an a Mother God working together to create a son and a daughter humans, this shows that there is a Divine Celestial Family also which demands a Celestial marriage as well in accordance with the sanctity of God ... All this teaching is in the very beginning of the bible, and is completely reassuring with the teachings of Joseph Smith through the restoration of the fulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ about the existence of a plurality of Gods, Celestial marriage, Divine procreation, Eternal Families and many other teachings taken from the bible like the teachings of Moses, and Abraham, just to mention those that the restored church of Jesus Christ teaches after those teachings were
re-revealed by God to Joseph Smith...
The members of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and all its missionaries, have been sent to the world to teach for the last time the Gospel of Jesus Christ once again after the apostasy and the restoration of all thing. This is the reason why God has restore the true church on the earth once again, and it is also the reason why Satan has unleashed all his fury against this Holy Church and its doctrine and ministers, bur we have been told by the Lord and by his prophets and teachers, that we are send to teach and not to be taught by the false doctrines and philosophies of men of the world. Of these things I give testimony that they are true in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Why do you worship a god that was once a man?
      Why not worship the Creator?
Smith shot people up, stole men’s wives, made a wrong-era language translation of a book that has no archaeological evidence to support it whatsoever, taught radical doctrines never heard of before in theology, and the list goes on. It seems that the reason Mormonism grew is because he was the type of man who had an answer for everything, and was better than most at keeping track of his lies.
Unfortunately for Mormonism, Smith couldn’t keep track of all of his lies, and eventually they caught up with him and an angry mob exterminated him. It is only Smith’s successors who continued to elevate him to a higher status, because they also saw the benefits of Mormonism, which was being able to justify the feeding of their similar lack of self-control. (endless sex in the after life)
Joseph Smith was an atheist because he took notice to the trusting naivety of his contemporary fellow man, and through manipulation, convinced a handful of them that he was more than a storyteller in order to get what he wanted. He was an atheist because he was living according to his worldview, which does whatever is desired, because nothing mattered in his eyes. To him, there were no gods to answer to, no judges to face, and thus, he manipulated the world around him to do what he did best, use women as objects.
Mormonism is specifically a man’s religion, much like Islam. It all points toward endless amazing sex for the Muslim. What about women? What do they get? To share one husband among a crowd of women? I’m sure that this sounds like an extremely exciting eternity for women, but realistically, it seems like it would get old after the first few thousand millennia.
Mormonism is not far from this. When you die (if you are a good-enough Mormon man), you can populate your own planet with endless celestial sex, in the same way Mormons teach that God has done on this planet. Again, what about women? Nothing but objects. Objects that their husbands supposedly love, but nonetheless, objects. What do they have to look forward to in eternity? Objectification. Baby machines.
Joseph Smith was clearly an atheist. He didn’t believe that he would have to answer for these kinds of things.

a good answer is not always clear. Jesus gave an answer (is it a good one or a poor one?), when he made point that Abram WILL BE resurrected because God speaks of him as if he is alive. BUT he is NOT saying Abram is already resurrected, or had been alive and in heaven while God talked to Moses. Jesus clearly said he would be the first to heaven and they hated him for this to the point of killing him. They accused him of planning to destroy the temple in 3 days, but it doesn't mean he intended to destroy any temple at all other than his own self.

50:10 Don't Calvinists do the same? I am really trying to understand this. Calvinists take a very literal interpretation of John 5 and 6 and use that to interpret the rest of the Bible. For instance, when 1 Timothy 2:4 and 1 Peter 3:9 says that God wants **all** people to come to him and be saved, Calvinists say "well, all doesn't mean all. It means only the elect, or all **types** of people." Mormons do the same: they reinterpret the Bible upon the basis of other scriptures.

    • @ZacSladePants
      @ZacSladePants Před 7 lety +6

Certainly it is too simplistic to say that Calvinists use John 5 and 6 to interpret the rest of the Bible. You don't really think that way, do you?
I've heard non-Calvinists before use 1 Tim 2:4 to say "See, God doesn't get everything He wants". But then that seems to me to stand directly against Isaiah 46:10, which says that God will accomplish all His purpose and do all that pleases him (also see Psalm 115:1-3).
A better (though still too simple) summary of Calvinism may be to say: What Calvinists do is attempt to reconcile these apparent differences in a way which gives God more power (sovereignty) and gives humans less power (because it has to be one or the other). I see the statement "God doesn't always get what He wants" as a statement saying that God created a universe wherein things are happening which God didn't plan and doesn't like. The alternative perspective which I think is "God-centered" is to say that God can plan all history including our sins, command us not to sin, and tell us that he doesn't like our sin, while still being consistent, as long as we acknowledge that some of us were created for the very purpose of glorifying God by being subject to His wrath, while others were created to glorify God by being subject to his mercy.

Seethi C I think the statement that Sola Scriptura makes the reader the ultimate authority is too broad. Sentences have a semantic domain, limiting possible interpretations. Tota Scriptura thereafter narrows the meaning of a text to just a few (usually just one) choice within its semantic domain. I think that all Christians will agree that as long as a belief set is in accord with Sola Scriptura and Tota Scriptura, it will land within the boundaries of salvific Christianity.
Another way of saying it is, if you can't rely on the meaning of words in scripture (because they are subject to interpretation), then you also can't rely on any other words, because all words are subject to interpretation. So by your reasoning, everyone is their own ultimate authority no matter what. However, such a belief is contrary to reason, and leads to a sort of postmodern lack of ability to ascertain objective truth.
What we believe is that God reveals himself to people in a way that is objective, and in a way which supersedes our typical reliance on sense perception and interpretation (See Romans 1, nobody has any excuse). The initial revelation enables us to say with assurance that the world around us follows certain logical rules which are derived from the mind of God, without having to circularly reference our own fallible senses. When the world is logical and meaningful, words can be interpreted according to meanings which are discrete and objective. When words can be interpreted objectively, the words of God surpass the words of any other entity in terms of their quality and reliability. The words of God are written in Scripture.

I didn't even know John 6 existed when I realized my error in rejecting Calvinism. I happened to read Romans 9 one day and a light bulb went off and then I started seeing it all over the place.

No matter what you speak of God is in it with opinion and truth and how to view it. There is nothing that is regarded as a different topic than all things are to include God's view of it by existing either by God or allowed by God until otherwise changed.

there is a reason that Jesus must be creator of Adam (doesnt mean he is God), but rather that as son of David becomes Lord of David, the prince or king or Messiah son of Adam is the very father who created Adam because it was never meant to be that a son (Reu, Abram, Moses, David) who is smarter than his father should be made king over all including his father. Instead that kingship is returned to the one who created Adam. And it is a kingship of best Example only, not a kingship of commands and orders. The scepter of power dashing to pieces does not mean forced and killing.

These men are professional ministers. Their entire livelihood is dependent upon conning people to follow their interpretations of scripture through vague mocking discussion. They love to hear themselves talk. In contrast the LDS faith is full of devout Christian disciples who follow the ultimate example of our lord and savior motivated by their love of their fellow man and a deep an abiding love of their god and not to fill their own bank accounts. I would say brothers if you genuinely believe what you profess to believe, then serve for free. If you want to know where a mans heart is, ask yourself this question: what is motivating this mans conduct. The reality is they try to clown on Joseph Smith for saying what he said he saw, yet all of their arguments are rooted in historical documents written by fallible men, with huge portions missing and confusions in translation over thousands of years. That's easy to believe yet they are quick to dismiss any alternative ideas for Christ. Fact is all scripture from old to New Testament is full of contradictions. My thought, potential for truth in all or none. These two jokers are exactly what was described to Joseph in the first vision: "the philosophies of men mingled with scripture. Jeff a little advice, spend less time on grooming your beard and dazzling the world with your intellect and more time genuinely serving your fellow man with no thought of reward. Amen

Loved this video. Shame it didn't last that long. The only thing I have some disagreement is with the claim that there are no other "gods". The Bible does confirm the existence of other gods but most people are in error about this subject because they project too much meaning into one word that was never meant to mean a single entity with a single set of attributes. It is not the word God that is unique but the God of Israel who's name is Yahweh. All other gods are lesser divine beings who Yahweh will judge.
The existence of other gods (*Elohim*)
    *Deuteronomy **32:17*
They sacrificed to *demons* that were no *gods*, to *gods* they had never known,
to new gods that had come recently, whom your fathers had never dreaded.
    *Psalm 82:1*
God (*Elohim*) has taken his place in the *divine council*; in the midst of the gods (*Elohim*) he holds judgment:
    *1 Samuel **28:13*
The king said to her, “Do not be afraid. What do you see?” And the woman said to Saul, “I see a *god* (*Elohim*)coming up out of the earth.”
There are many other types of beings that are also called Elohim. What the word actually means is a spirit, a being from the spiritual world.
The statement that there are "no other gods" doesn't mean there aren't real entities who are called gods. It means there is no other God or gods who is comparable with Yahweh.
The same statement is made in relation to cities. Both Babylon and Nineveh say the same thing about themselves. It doesn't mean other cities don't exist. We know that they did. But that no other cities could compare with them. Here are the verses...
    *Isaiah 49:8*
Now therefore hear this, you lover of pleasures,
    who sit securely,
    who say in your heart,
    “*I am, and there is no one besides me*;
I shall not sit as a widow
or know the loss of children”:
    *Zephaniah **2:15*
    This is the exultant city
    that lived securely,
    that said in her heart,
“*I am, and there is no one else*.”
What a desolation she has become,
    a lair for wild beasts!
    Everyone who passes by her
    hisses and shakes his fist.
Mormons are in error to claim to be gods because all the gods are to be judged and condemned by Yahweh according to Psalm 82. They will be in the same predicament as the demons, the false gods who are not worthy of worship. Only the God of Israel is to be worshiped and praised.

    • @benjaminw309
      @benjaminw309 Před 7 lety +7

Surfxeo There are no other gods in the normal use of the word. Deuteronomy 32:17 explicitly states that the gods that they were worshipping were not gods at all, but demons. Going further to verse 39 makes it even more clear.
Psalm 82 is a different use of the word god. The term is sometimes used for people in authority. In this case it is unjust judges who are men - not gods in the way you are using it. This can be clearly seen by reading it on context.
1 Samuel she is /saying/ she sees a god. That doesn't mean he actually was a God. It is a record of her words.
And how can you take verses where God is judging nations for exalting themselves and import it into the language God is using for himself? We can't derive meaning from any text of Scripture if we apply the same logic elsewhere. Nothing can mean what it says. How could it be written any clearer than what we find in Isaiah 44:6 and 43:10? He says there is no other god. None formed before. None after. He doesn't even know any other god. And there are plenty of other places where this language is used particularly in Isaiah 40-48. Why can't we just take it for what it means instead of importing a completely different context?

Yahweh is incorrect. We would not have phonetic sungle syllable languages unless the original language was also such. Thus the name of four letters are four words so that as we say Wy Aytch Yu Aytch they would have said Ya Wa Ha Wa. Good example is the British name Cheops is actually pronounced Kay - off and is in English as Kay - Ef two letters which means two words. Just as Chephren is K-F-R-N.
