excellent explanation, very easily demonstrated, my emmery grinder is a black n decker, and it turn on and spins and cuts n grinds, but if you apply too pressure it halts, it used to be that I could put pressure and it worked well, like cutting old nails off old 2*4s but now its not so good, what trouble shooting should I start with
It really depends a lot on the Model of the tool. When you say it stops does the motor keep going but the wheel stops? If this is the case you may have worn gears in the gear case. If the motor completely stops, the cheapest fix would be the Carbon Brushes. If they look good then your probably looking at replacing the Armature and Field. These parts are very model specific so make sure you use your model number to order parts.
If it is the grinding disc only that stops but the shaft and motor continue to spin, I would check the inner and outer flanges and make sure they are in the correct positions for the disc you're using. It sound as if they aren't gripping the disc as they should.
Fix.com thank you buddy, I appreciate it so very much that you take your time to answer and share your expertise, if your ever in Cancun the 6 packs on me

Yes the motor keeps going but the wheel stops
The wheel stops temporarily when too much pressure is added but it wasn't like this before

I thought there was 2 carbon brush in grinder?
It bothers me that you didnt bother to clean the internals or at very least blow it out with an air compressor
