looking at the width of your X axis rail, this looks like the newer version of the x-carve. so, if retentioning the X axis belt didn't help, I'm thinking that on the newer x-carves the pull wheel comes attached to the stepper. The geared pully might be slipping, and isn't solidly stuck onto the stepper shaft. pull the gear belt off the stepper (yes, I know it sucks to put it back) then hold your finger on the stepper gear and see if it's loose or if it spins or not when you trigger a small movement of the X axis. I'm not sure what to do if it's loose, but it would be nice to know if that's the problem when you call inventables. my x--carve is the newer model, and the gear was preattached to the steppers. yours might be faulty.

Very nice butvdamn that would have been a substantial redesign....wiring...alum base...side rails..etc etc......and a lot of money....did u ever find the issue with ur xcarve?.....mine loses steps/ lcation often...its annoying....the xcarve is not the best design...has many many flaws and poor improper design

check the tension on the X axis belt. it could be loose.

Did you ever fix this? Was it the pressed on pulley slipping on the stepper motor?
