This has to be my favorite JMT video! The music! The editing! The humor! The side characters! I hiked part of the JMT coming down from the Mist Trail last July, probably just a few days after yourselves. Would love to return one day and walk the whole thing!

Still BY FAR the best JMT movie- every time you two say “The Devil’s Road…” I laugh for ten minutes. It’s really how we all feel but no one will say it….

One of the best hiking videos I have seen. So well narrated, tons of humour, the little pointers on the map, so you don't just get places thrown on you, the little backstories on people and places. It was like a really great infoboard (I really really loves infoboards).
And then the music. It felt personal and highlighted the scenes to perfection.

Wow, what a fantastic video. I was overwhelmed with the beauty of the country along JMT which was so well filmed by you both and showing great mapping detail and editing. I visited Yosemite and Death Valley many years ago and was astounded then by the sheer beauty of the rugged and varied countryside and especially the trees. I live near a little town called Dunbar, East Lothian, Scotland which is John Muir's birthplace where he was brought up until he was 11 when the family emigrated to America. I've always had great admiration for this wonderful conservationist who did so much to discover and protect this stunning planet and, although crippled with arthritis, I still walk a lot through John Muir Country Park here near my home. Oh and the music on your video was excellent too. Well done to you both!!!

You make a charming pair; Madeline is a great sport and both of you are refreshingly un-influencer. It says a lot that I didn't skip the part of about the backcountry air fryer -- you guys sold it. Great adventure! All these incredible mountains, rivers, lakes and brooks should have Native American names! It’s funny you celebrated ‘independence’ day! For virtually all native Americans that was the day of the great catastrophe! Ethnically cleansed, barbarically hunted and killed, dislocated by force, terror and attrition from their motherland! Since that ‘independence’ day, the victor and perpetrator wrote the narrative. And thus began a legacy of endless wars, and even today, directly involved in Genocide of another land’s native people! When you straddle theses incredible peaks, valleys and lakes, remember the natives, and shed a tear for thy sake! Blessings be upon the!

But considering you're thinking about round 3, it makes me think you felt round 2 was worth it! If we do, we'll keep your target calorie counts in mind! Glad you enjoyed the video! :) Backpacks were the gossamer gear gorilla 50 - we liked them. Durable, didn’t give us any reliability issues. Super stretchy back pocket - ended up storing many misc things there. These were our first/only packs though, so I’m not sure how experientially discerning I am… I did opt for the gorilla figuring we could fit all our gear across packs, despite it being smaller than mariposa. If I was going solo I probably would’ve considered mariposa more.
