  • PLEASE READ - VIDEO UPDATE: There was a minor audio/video sync issue with the earlier parts of this video. My commentary tells the outcome of some putts and shots milliseconds before it happens. Some have opted to 'mute' the commentary for this reason. I apologize for this and if there was an easy way to fix this exact video I would. I apologize about this.
    Championship Sunday has arrived at the Maple Hill Gold Course located in Leicester, MA. Unfortunately a constant barrage of wind and rain has also showed it's ugly head as our top card is ready to battle for title of Maple Hill Open Champion.
    Paul McBeth has a one stroke lead over Ricky Wysocki but not far behind is Gregg Barsby and David Wiggins. This is the same card we saw during Saturday's play which means you can compare their shots in great weather conditions versus the ones you will see here.
    This is the back 9 of round 4 and I do post-production commentary alone a few days after it's all happened.
    Final event standings can be found here:

    A rare thing indeed to see that McBeth is mortal after all. Huge congrats to Ricky and Greg, they both played incredibly well, considering the conditions. Fantastic coverage and editing Terry, you are truly an asset to this sport. Thank you sincerely for all you do.

    Ricky getting hyped up after those back to back solid putts on 13 & 14 is a lot of fun to watch. Congrats!

      djbme83 - I know I love this game because even after all of these years of playing and watching (and filming) I still get goosebumps with #SweetAction such as this takes place.

      thediscgolfguy Replay on those putts would be pretty cool. Is it possible to cut in some of the live feed footage as well? The angle on the live feed was great. Really appreciate the work you put in.

    Thanks Terry and everyone else involved, it's nice to be able to see and hear what happened at these majors especially when some of us aren't fortunate enough to be able to go in person. Props to Ricky Wysocki on a great win!

    Wiggins' drive on 18 was INSANE! Thanks you for all your hard work, Terry. Some people think these videos shoot and edit themselves.

    What a fantastic ride this was. Awesome DG all the way and great coverage. I've been checking in every day hoping for a new episode :)
    Big thanks to thediscgolfguy and those involved in getting it to us and a huge gratz to Ricky for giving it all!

      Tom Bentsen - really glad that you enjoyed it all Tom! It was a long and grueling week and almost just as long after getting home but we are glad to do it for you and glad that you took it all in.
      At some point you'll probably see a highlights type video from this particular week but for now I'm back to editing a few other events which took place just before this one!

    I was pulling for Barsby but wasn't disappointed to see Wysocki nad up to get the win as Gregg faltered down the stretch. Disc golf needs more than one guy winning week in and week out.
    Paul McBeth didn't play his best but he showed great sportsmanship as usual. He is a true champion.
    Thanks for the video.

    Thanks Terry! I'm glad to see Ricky finally defeat the 18th green and take this tourney down. All the players on the card were stand up gentlemen. It's just what our sport needs. Great filming and great action!!!!

    I really appreciate this coverage and i was really glad to hear the audio was recorded separately but i cant believe your commentary was giving things away. Its all good but dang Ricky's putt at 15:30 would have been so much better if i didnt hear you say boom in the air. Only problem I had. Thanks for all the time you guys put into this production, it really moves the sport forward.

      JamesJohnsonFL - I agree James and I apologize about the timing being out of sync. I have addressed this in a number of other places and if there was a simple fix I would address it but other than deleting this video and posting a new one, I'm not sure what else I can do.
      Again, I apologize about that as it obviously wasn't intentional.

    As a Ricky fan, I'm so happy to see this. You could see that he was just so happy when he was diving into the water. I'm sure he's had a lot of anxiety after swapping plastic/car accident recently and not really placing too well for the past few months up until just recently. I love the rivalry between him and McBeth, too. - McBeth has bested him so many times, although I'm a huge McBeth fan, it's nice to see Ricky snag one. Props to McBeth for the hand shake at the end, too. All in all, really good video to watch.

    • @thediscgolfguy
      @thediscgolfguy  Před 9 lety +1

      James Ayotte - I agree with you on all accounts. Paul and Ricky are both great ambassadors and sportsmen for the game and they have a tremendous amount of respect for one another on and off the course. They had a very entertaining battle on the air hockey machine during the week as well which we played during some down time in the live broadcast.
      Their play and sportsmanship is good for fans as well as the sport of disc golf. Great battle for sure and great to see it play out over all these years.

    • @aaronphillips2301
      @aaronphillips2301 Před 9 lety

      James Ayotte Absolutely! Good to see that people are watching for the right reasons. I agree its great to see that even though Paul didn't have his best tournament, the whole times you can see him high fiveing Gregg his teammate and does show respect at the very end like all competitors should. Its great having the world number 1 player setting a great example for all amateurs and fellow competitors. If sportsmanship is not too good for the world number one then its not too good for you!

    Is is just my computer or is the commentary audio out of sync? There were a couple of time where Terry said stuff before it actually happened, 14:07 he says it kicks back before it actually does and at 15:24 with the boom before he makes the putt. Just noticed this in a few spots.

      @ericbeich Před 9 lety

      AlwaysDunnRight I could be wrong, but I believe terry redid the audio commentary for this edit VS what was the live audio from the Smashboxxtv feed. but even then, and even if he did not redo the commentary, I don't think he meant for it to be that out of synch. We still love you Terry :)

    Your videos are very well made, thank you for posting. My only observation for potential changes is that sometimes you say a putt is good a second or two before the disc hits the basket, just minor timing stuff.

  • @Jesterian
    @Jesterian Před 9 lety

    So awesome to see Barsby performing the way he is and to see Ricky really coming into his own with Trilogy plastic. Pretty rough watching McBeth beat himself on a final round, but he's only human and he had some stiff competition.

    The sound is 2 - 3 second earlie on the commentator so turn off the volume for this back nine if you like surprises, i have already seen it and knows what happend but if you havent seen it yet turn of the volume or recync it by playing 2 videos at the same time and turn off the sound on one, but then the ching sound is bad instead :(

    I'm not really sure what is going on bu the audio is really wonky and out of sync with the video. Terry you keep spoiling putts before they go in (or don't go in)!! I have officially muted the sound to avoid hearing what happens before seeing it!

    hole 14, Barsby should have been called for the foot fault on his putt. he was inside circle's edge and started walking towards the basket before the disc landed inside. i had to watch it a few times, but he does not hold his balance (moving forward) prior to his putter landing.

    • @emile1208
      @emile1208 Před 9 lety +1

      Joe Mama I was thinking the same thing. You can call a foot fault on this. BUT, I don't think that Barsby lost his balance, he was just so excited for the putt to go in (because he knew it) and started to walk to the basket.
      A foot fault call at that moment would be fair, but inappropriate.

    • @mercilpb
      @mercilpb Před 9 lety +1

      Joe Mama He paused, and the movement forward was obviously him stepping forward, not a continuation of his momentum from the putting motion. The rule doesn't have anything to do with moving before your putter lands.

    I really wish the cameraman with the circular camera holder wouldn't stand where the discs are landing and right on top of the basket. It just seems disrespectful

    • @thediscgolfguy
      @thediscgolfguy  Před 9 lety +1

      TechnologicallyMad - he's my cameraman for our live broadcasting with smashboxxtv. He's knowledgeable and good at what he does so he doesn't disrupt play. If he was hindering the players or their performance I would totally agree but he's with us and he's all good.
      I do understand what you're saying though which is why we'll see only approved media people close to the players and course as our sport continues to grow and progress.

      yeah that is true, i have been on turnaments where they treat us like animal, dont stand there move away dont go there dont do that dont do this ??? wtf- stop that stupidity, and the funny thing is that the guys that was ordering us around was in the wrong spot at the wrong time, not less than 2 times was they hit by a disc - i got mad and dissipointed - don´t interupt the game with this stupid people, if they are volunteers please let them know to stay away from the disc and be alert on whats going on... this was on jarva in sweden by the way... let us stand where ever we want - we have a brain and know where we can stand aspecially if we play discgolf...
