the Padres are a way more balanced team than last year. They’ve gotta play to their strengths, doing what it takes to win daily, becoming super consistent. As there’s no way they can catch the Dodgers (who will have 100+ wins), but the Padres could wind up a solid wild card team with about 85 wins.
Darvish has been on a roll! Him and Cease are quite the 1-2 punch!

As a lifelong Braves fan I feel like Acuna has really given a half effort the last 3 weeks. He’s been caught stealing and making errors that a player of his caliber shouldn’t be making. I hope he gets it together.

Braves offense isn't exactly clicking. At the same time, they'd need 10 runs almost every night Elder pitches. Elder isn't fooling anyone.

This Padres team is it! A bit inconsistent, but once Manny and Xander finally come back we will start pulling away from .500 record. I still got us at 90+ wins. And our TOUGH schedule lightens up considerably starting in August and through September.

Snit is not the right manager for this aggressive team, he's too laid back for a fast pace team, not once have he bunt too stay out of doubles.no answer from snit he just sit and rock, while his pitcher getting rock.

FanGraphs projects them to clinch the 6 seed at 83-79 so they are contending _and_ meeting expectations, which should be a relief for Padres fans given their inconsistency over the last few seasons
@@fluffly3606 Right. Padres fans know that unless their team starts playing consistent, decent baseball, it won't matter if they make the playoffs. Oh sure, we might get a thrill for a few playoff games but what SD wants is a championship. This usually comes from a team with a REAL winning record - not 83-79.

It's a combination of his wins in Japan and in MLB.
Really slim. He'd have to win 20 games a year - which nobody does - until he's aged 42.
The braves will really hate the sight of having to face another Japanese NT pitcher. The 3 players pitching: Imanaga,Darvish and Yuki Matsui have not given up a run this year currently to them.
In all, they have a combined 19 Strikeouts against them.

They had to trade him. He didn't want to stay, so they had no choice. In the end, the trade worked out well for both parties.

Yeah bad loss, offense still in a bit of a slump and the pitching in this game was a mess. Sooner rather than later some guys are going to need to start stepping up, and really hope to get guys like riley and murphy back too. Double header tomorrow, if we can manage to get those it can still be a series split which would be ideal. Lopez for the first one, sale for the second. #ForTheA

That easy Phillies schedule, coupled with the hard schedule for the Braves a few weeks ago, in which the Braves had multiple series against strong teams back to back, caused the Phillies to take the lead and rocked the Braves confidence. So much for a "balanced" schedule. The pitching injuries in which the Braves pitching staff are like fragile China Dolls doesn't help, nor these ridiculously long slumps for the offense.
