What If Iron Rattler Was Designed in 2022?

- Iron Rattler at Six Flags Fiesta Texas was the second ever hybrid coaster converted from a wooden coaster in 2013. Since then, many more wooden coasters have been converted into hybrids, and the design style of the hybrid coasters has changed a lot. Taking inspiration from Zadra at Energylandia, Iron Gwazi at Busch Gardens Tampa, and more, I designed a concept for what Iron Rattler could have looked like if it was designed in 2022.
Enjoy!

Wow. The best part of your concept is how incredibly it flows. It’s not repetitive, has unique elements, and they don’t feel forced in any way. And they pull very realistic G-Forces. Awesome as always
omg hi mason- bailey
6:08: that support structure 😂
Great re-conversion!
The uphill over the quarry on the original Rattler was the scariest part of all 3 versions.
The structure shakes like it about to crumble any minute! Crazy
watching those wooden supports wiggle like that was crazy
That sway of the og rattler tho😳
I like all of that except the end. After the quarry wall tunnel near the end, I would've tried to add something along the originals last helix path. Burn off the speed, don't make the brakes do all the work.
You don't want to burn off too much speed, though, since you don't want to feel like there was wasted track.
Can you a six flags great adventure modern rolling thunder rmc
Rolling thunder was actually going to be RMC'd! But then they realized that the structure wasn't in the greatest of conditions.
This is my favorite ride at my home park! It makes me smile every time I ride it!
I swear I can feel the airtime just by watching this.
I still love these concept videos! Brilliant as always
Hey thanks! Really appreciate your support :)
Awesome video. The pacing on this is insane!
Thanks!
video concept is actually cool asf
very cool video idea, and nicely executed too!
You should make a video about rmc Wildcat
That could be a really good ride!
I'll be making one in the next few weeks hopefully before hersheypark announces it
Dude. Thank you. This would be a great update.
Incredible video, your concept is genuinely so strong. Easy subscribe.
Yo great video, It Was very interesting!
Amazing video!!! More like this please
Looking forward for some fun usage of the cliff setting!
Good video. You deserve more attention
6:19 that's horrifying seeing the old rattler sway like that
Its Safe Though Watch An Off Ride Video Of Steve
I just rode Iron Rattler for the first time last week and it was so forceful and the elements are pretty tame for it being one of the original rmc’s. This would be absolutely bananas! Great concept!
Love this series! So cool to think about what these rides could look like with modern day RMC!
Thanks man! Really appreciate your support :)
Would a de-evolved series be interesting too?
Modern RMCs done in the style of first-gen?
I feel like iron rattler is already one of the best RMCs
Yes but it would be even better with this layout
Kinda Short So I Rank It As A Mid Tier RMC
i originally came for the concept desgns, but stayed for the humor
My guy RMC’d an RMC
I love iron rattler so much and this makes me wish it was made in 2022😂
Hmmm, someone has a future in coaster design. That was awesome!
that is amazing how rmc has evolved over the years! Nice creation i watched both povs and that was very good and follows the old layout pretty well with some added and more exciting elements! Nice job
Glad you enjoyed it!
Actually looks like a 2022 RMC! New Sub right here!
The rattler was a fitting name for the track😂
Those track flex’s omg
Awesome video! You should continue going through the list of RMCs and redesigning them.
Yeah I'll do all of the older RMCs and maybe take this series to other old versions of popular models (Intamin Mega, Intamin Blitz etc.)
@@EliteCoasters maybe outlaw run next
@@EliteCoasters Medusa steel coaster at six flags mexico
It would be nice if Six Flags did a refit to both Texas RMC's. The new Texas Giant & The Iron Rattler! We can only dream.🤔
OMG I am going to ride the iron rattler when I get the chance and come back to this on
1:50 Surprised that section of track didnt snap under that pressure!
Ooo can’t wait
On the original rattle coming back up the quarry wall looks boarder-line unsafe that’s crazy
Wow this view 10:11 is even better than what you got on Iron Rattler 🤯
You should do wicked cyclone! That's an early RMC that I would love to see with a modern twist
Yeah I'll probably do the RMCs in order until I get to like 2016 or 2018 cause those are modern enough
@@EliteCoasters but they will evantually become not modern
by the time u get to lets say steel vengeance then u will be talking about doing iron gwazi cuse those will alreday be like a couple years old XD
This is awesome! Great job and great job explaining it all to us in detail. Definitely learned alot
Glad you enjoyed it! Looking forward to our video release on Wednesday :)
Can’t wait to see your take on rmc wildcat, please. I’m begging…
cool!!!!
I love Iron Rattler, the terrain factor gives a strong identity to this coaster and your "upgrade" looks awesome
1:49 I'm always shocked when I see that original Rattler track shimmy on that uphill section. If I were redesigning it I'd put an intentional shimmy of the train in that spot as a sort of "tribute." :-)
I do have to say that Bandit is waayyyy Better than people make it out to be. I mean sure: that thing is Rough. But there is no headbanging or something that makes it unconfortable. In the Backrow this thing is FLYING and pulls some of the best airtime in europe.
this is incredible! absolutly smooth from element to the next all the way through! nice job on this!
6:10 dam that’s a lot of swaying
I think if i were resigning, I'd use an iron gwazi descending zero-g roll into the second drop. Maybe a step up to pull some floater into the descending zero g roll would make that last drop so much more intense
Really enjoyed the walkthrough of your design, with the justification of your choices and the inspiration of the elements. Top class
i love your redesign! It would be cool to see a video of you redesign New Texas Giant!
I actually have made a video of that! Check it out here: czcams.com/video/kz0hrewL1PQ/video.html
Much better then actual iron rattler
Im gladly waiting
insane
I love how it took more of a refrence from the original Rattler and has a longer time before the amazing drop, I havent rode iron rattler but it does seem slow on the quarry wall and a little short, your version basically took the flaws of iron rattler and made it 10x better
Well done!! This could really be one of the best of the best RMC's
Ooo do Outlaw run in Silver Dollar City if it was a true hybrid like Iron Gwazi or Steel Vengeance instead of being RMC's first topper track wooden coaster!
I think you should work for them in the future as a layout designer, becuz this is what I picture to be the perfect RMC
wow
amazing... can you please start adding back seat POVs to your videos?
Do more this Sirues. A lot more
You should do RMC Comet at the Great Escape!
Fun fact: the original pull out from The Rattler's drop managed to pull over five Gs. However, the structure was only actually built to handle the force of a train pulling three Gs. This was due to a miscalculation in the design.
Interesting but not very surprising considering RCCA's reputation haha
Actually the original concept had the pullout only pulling 3 Gs. In order to guarantee the ride would open with the tallest and steepest drop, the park got RCCA to redesign the drop twice. The pullout was never redesigned
@@dustmybroom288
That's true, however because of the redesigns of the drop, what ended up being constructed was far more forceful than intended.
@@VestedUTuber the start of the drop was moved forwards off the quarry wall and the height was made taller. The pullout still ended in the same spot, it was just made smaller. When the ride opened RCCA continued to advertise the pullout as only having 3Gs
this would be my favorite coaster if it was real
Honestly it could be for people who love a shorter ride with really powerful elements
@@EliteCoasters yeah for sure. i think the longest coaster i’ve ridden is goliath at sfmm but i don’t think having a super long ride automatically makes a ride good. og rattler for example 💀
Make this for Goliath at great America. Love the vids!
do twisted colossus next. that layout had so much potential
I'll probably go in order of RMCs but yeah I'll do that at some point
If iron rattler was designed today, it would probably not have the final dive off the cliff. This dive would be too intense for rmc today.
I doubt it. This pulls -1.2 g's in the back row, and there are 4 moments on Zadra that have that strong (or stronger) airtime
Cool video. Can you do one for twisted colossus, reimagined as a non-dueling hyper?
Yeah I'll probably do the RMCs in order until I get to like 2016 or 2018 cause those are modern enough
Hey Nice Video, Can You Do One of These for Twisted Colossus
This is a very great concept. I love it! Would’ve deff been on of the greater ones today.
Great video, can only imagine how much research it takes. Very cool
Can u do a Thunderhawk at Dorney Park conversion? I think thar would be absolutely incredible
6:22: The Rattler's structure is shaking!
you need to work with rmc! this is impressive
1. bless you for fixing the timings for the youtube sections, I was like "where the heck is the full POV' within the "full pov" section.
2. links are broken in description
They're fixed now, thanks for letting me know :)
WHOA @1:48-1:51
I noticed you used the original RMC trains. Do you think you could design this with the new generation trains? I also wonder if you could add a third train to the track
Could you do a RMC conversion of wildcat at Lake Compounce and see what that would be like from what I’ve heard wildcat is a really rough ride
That would be interesting, I'll have to check it out and see what I can do. Might be more of a family RMC but idk
Not gonna lie, I'd rather him RMC Boulder Dash.
@@dullwhip4897 boulder - doesn’t need to be RMC and there’s already a no limits RMC version of that if you look it up
@@officialchase02 I want to see Elite Coaster's take on it, and it does need to be RMC'd it's super rough and jenky
@@dullwhip4897 ok
Could you share any of your fvd++ files? I'd just love to know what the graphs for some of these elements look like.
The only issue i see with this is it kind of takes away the novelty of the quarry wall location when youre actually on ride. Most of the interactions with the wall are very difficult to see and you wouldnt notice them while riding like you do with the real Iron Rattler.
Could you do a conversion of the famous Coney Island cyclone if that were to get the treatment what would that look like
I think Iron Rattler is already pretty much perfect, but I can’t complain about this design.
Could you do Twisted Colossus? I would love to see what that would've looked like as a dueling Hyper-Hybrid.
Yeah I'll probably do the RMCs in order until I get to like 2016 or 2018 cause those are modern enough
@@EliteCoasters well lucky for us TC was 2015 so I'll be patiently awaiting you to revitalize my headcanon version of my home RMC. Keep up the good work dude.
Also out of curiosity are you also gonna do the ground up woodies like Outlaw Run, Wildfire, and Goliath?
do outlaw run for this series
My only real issue with this design is that it doesn't make use of the final turnaround the original Rattler had by the station. Easily some outer banked turns and/or airtime hills could have been used here to really extend the ride. All the extra momentum you have left over is kinda wasted just hitting the brakes.
Yeah, I've gotten a few comments about that. The reason I didn't put anything there is because the train has way too much speed going into that section. Any element that I would have been able to fit into that section would have been much too forceful.
sick creation, someday i feel like rmc will rmc more rmc's so we could see this happen who knows
I’d love to see ‘If I designed Steal Vengance’! I wonder if u could make it better
Maybe, Steel Vengeance is pretty perfect as it is though
Ye but unique twists could be put on elements to make them better, for example, ale the first inversion the cutback, then make the second an outer banked hill into a death roll
oh mannn i wish haha
Love it. Imagine a high speed roll in the last tunnel.
What did you use to make this?
Program called FVD. Tutorial coming on Sunday
Do RMC wildcat
SFFT is and has been my home park my whole life, and i would have liked to see a flyby next to the station after the tunnel! The Rattler used to do this and it would shake the entire station and when i rode Iron Rattler after the conversion i and many other fans of our original The Rattler were left wanting more after the tunnel and the queue wasn't as thrilling ( the old fly by would rattle and shake the entire station and gave everyone in queue a chance to rethink their life choices LOL)
other than that i love what you did with my beloved Iron Rattler, i wish they would reconvert it to to this cause this conversion would make it a competitor to the top 3 RMC's of the current day! well done!
I wish I could have done more after the final drop, but there was simply too much speed to make any realistic elements in that space. It was a tradeoff between being able to have something there, or having speed on top of the quarry wall, and I chose speed on the quarry wall because that is the most common complaint with Iron Rattler.
@@EliteCoasters i can totally see that being an issue for sure. even the current iron rattler out of the tunnel there’s a sharp jolt up forward and to the left as you enter the brakes, if they weren’t magnetic brakes it would rip your face off!
glad you took it into consideration and i too would prefer better pacing on the top of the quarry wall, well played!
I still enjoy the original as it is a classic and is my favorite ride but it would be cool to see this ride in a separate ride like the rides beast and son of beast it could be the iron rattlers son in a way but came back bigger and different I love the concept and would love to see it implemented in real life.
i don’t know whether the vine boom at the start was used ironically or unironically
it obviously won't happen in real life but you should make an RMC El Toro.
How do you get the precise dimensions and values in no limits 2? I can’t seem to figure out how tall/long anything is or how many gs it pulls.
Love these videos btw!
For the height and length, you can go to coaster properties, and then go to the stats tab within that. To find the speed and G-Forces, go to the main screen and go to setup. Under controls find whatever key will show the simulation panel (should be f2). Then, when riding the coaster in play mode click that key to bring up the simulation panel, which will display the speed and g-forces.
Thank you!!!!
imagine in 2043. it must’ve been huge.
Do this about Texas Giant
czcams.com/video/kz0hrewL1PQ/video.htmlsi=K4rZLsg8MsEgtIt0
While I do like this concept and I think it would make for a better ride experience than the real Iron Rattler I think you missed some important points:
-The Rattler was always plagued with structural issues and Increasing the height speed and forces as you suggested would require extensive reinforcement of almost the entirety of the structure.
This is probably also the main reason that for the Iron Rattler Conversion large parts of the original structure were removed and most of Iron Rattler stays a lower to the ground than the original rattler did.
-Budget: the alterations to the helix requires a lot of new support structure on top of the afore mentioned reinforcements it would probably come out to at least 3x the cost of the Real Iron Rattler and we are talking about a Six Flags park.
So a 2022 Iron Rattler would be smaller and a lot closer to the existing Iron Rattler than your concept.
Thanks for the feedback!
I was roaming at the mouth
Really cool layout, I will say though, even now, RMC still pretty much sticks to only using the existing footers. So in reality, there wouldn't be such a large change to the portion on top of the quarry wall and they would have just stuck to the original helix footers.
Yeah I realized that after designing it. Will definitely apply that to my future RMC Concepts
@@EliteCoasters Still an absolutely awesome creation! And who knows, RMC had to do some wonky stuff with Iron Gwazi to make that work, like adding additional long steel supports in spots, so you never know!
I doubt it will every happen, but could u RMC The Mighty Canadian Minebuster or Wilde Beast at Canada's Wonderland?
