I just need to watch this video twice a week for at least 6 months. Thank you!!
No words could really describe how grateful i am for you! I’ve been really struggling for a long time to learn such topic , i’ve looked everywhere but couldn’t find anyone who could explain everything in a very simple way like this
Thank you so much !!!!)))))))))
Great video! After the video I understand that is imposible to learn russian with a Dictionary. We need a great teacher like you!
Bamboo Buey , that’s the point. You cannot rely on the dictionary 100%. Thanks for the compliment. 😊
What you say is true of any language, I'm afraid. A dictionary can help if you use it well but it's not going to teach you anything. And to be frank I have lots of paper dictionaries which I preserve religiously but hardly ever use now - it's so easy to look up words in online dictionaries!
This really is BY FAR the best channel in the world for Russian language instruction. Thank you, Olga, for everything!
Спасибо большое!
@@AmazingRussianЯ абсолютно согласен! Самое лучшее!
This is something I've struggled with for so long. Thank you so much.
atonewiththedust , I hope you will be able to straighten it out.
Я не перестану сказать что ваше видео самые лучшие. Спасибо большое!!!
и извините за любую ошибку!

No wonder I always use the wrong prepositions! I guess it's one of those things that come naturally only after years of immersion. Thanks for your clear explanations, as always!
Glad it was helpful! Спасибо, что смотрели это видео!
This is such a rock solid explanation of this topic. большое спасиьо Олга!
Dear Olga, this is really an AMAZING video - profound and comprehensive, nevertheless easy to understand! A true masterpiece! But all your other videos are excellent as well!
Excellent video. As others have also said, this was the best explanation I have seen. Very helpful!
Oksana Freeman , thank you much!
Excellent and outstanding quality as always, I always come back to your videos, thank you very much :)
James Kyle , спасибо.
Здравствуйте и спасибо, Ольга. I've been using various translations for each preposition (for, to, etc.), and while I could grasp some concepts, I just couldn't figure out all the possibilities. Your video is perfect because you've limited the translation to "for", when they are used and examples. Now, I understand. ☺️
Спасибо. Рада, что видео помогло.
This video it's very useful. It's the first time I study this topic.Thank you Olga!!!!! Saludos desde Uruguay!!!!
daniel francoise , you are very welcome.

Excellent video! The best I've seen on this topic!
Michael Good , спасибо большое. Очень приятно.
Tremendous video! Thank you very much...I need to take notes from this and practice all kinds of examples. This is a very difficult area for an English speaker learning Russian.
Да, согласна. Именно здесь делают много ошибок англоговорящие студенты.
your videos are so informative, i think, no teacher like you in the wold
Спасибо!
I have reached a level where I can understand some conversations. Russian grammar is making sense to me, finally. I just need to increase my vocabulary with more words as I frequently run into words that I have not heard before although I can still mostly figure out the meaning contextually. This is an excellent video for intermediate level Russian.
Your channel is helpful for us for learning Russian.
Вы супер!!!

Super! very clear and well explained! thanks a lot for your help, I enjoy and improve my russian with yr videos, they are great. You must be very proud of yr work. As russians say: молодец! You should make podcasts for an intermediate level. I'd be one of your followers like your CZcams channel. Very nice. I thank you very much. This language is not as easy as others CZcams Channels say. To me, it is very challenging.
It is supposed to be challenging. It means you are realistic and not delusional (as some others are).
Very helpful thank you

Luna Nera , тогда спасибо!
I've been trying to learn russian mainly through english resources. My native language is spanish, and i was having a hard time figuring out the difference between для and за. Well, if you speak spanish, think of для as para and за as por. Makes more sense now lol
Thank you
tal , you are welcome.
Really excellent video. You are the first person to make this clear to me. However one question.K + dative example "we invited guests for dinner". Is it possible to also use для + gen "we invited guests for the purpose of dinner" also? It seems to fit this example too
Matt Richards , спасибо. You cannot use «для» for invitations. На обед, к обеду, в гости.
Отлично!
Большое спасибо вампир
SOUDA INTHAVONG Noywe , вампир???😂
Thank you so much is helpful

Замечательное Видео:).
У меня есть вопрос. Какая разница между этими словами: опаздывать и опоздать?
Anarghya Sumanth , the first verb is imperfective while the second is perfective. I hope you know about the verbal aspect in Russian. If not, please find the videos in the playlist.
спасибо, это очень хорошее видео , дай мне понять эти предлоги
Peter Chiu , рада, что Вы поняли. Спасибо за комментарий.
Хороший видео ! Мне очень понравился
Спасибо большое.
видео очтень хороший спасибо большое
Ayman Morris , спасибо большое. Я рада, что видео понравилось.
Thank you for the video, it is great! However, there are still some overlaps in usage between для и за which I don't fully understand. Example from your video: "Сделай это для меня" vs "Миша сделал контрольную за друга". These two sentences convey exactly the same message with the same verb, yet the prepositions are different. Could you elaborate this?
Сделай это для меня - this sentence conveys the idea: “do me a favor; do it for my sake”. Миша сделал контрольную за друга - It was the test of Misha’s friend, but Misha took his test because, probably, he asked Misha to do so. Hope it helps.
@@AmazingRussian Thanks for the reply! It is getting more clear the more I use it. I am Croatian and we use most prepositions same as Russian. для however is still a bit of mystery :)
One of the things that has given me the most problems is prefixes on verbs. I understand what they all mean, but is it true that sometimes a verb with a prefix has the same exact meaning/usage as the verb without the prefix? For instance, махнуть and взмахнуть - to wave. Or, помахать and замахать - to wave. It's really frustrating seeing so many verbs with the same English translation. Is it true that with some verbs which have prefixes the traditional prefix meanings don't apply and the verb with the prefix can be used just like the verb without the prefix? Or does the prefix always change the meaning a little bit? Like how "за" can mean "to start to." So, замахать would mean to start to wave instead of just to wave. Or, could замахать be used just as "to wave"?
Yes, it is true that prefixes could change the meaning of a verb.
Awesome
где другое видео ? не могу найти : "на две недели vs две недели" спасибо за помощь!
Uthmuru the Gracious One ,

9:00 You didn't explain why and when "на" or "в" used; but only gave example why an when are they used???
пожа́луйста, какая разница "за это" и "за то"? например "пить за это чтобы..." или "пить за то чтобы..." "спасибо за это" или "спасибо за то"? Спасибо за ответ!
За то, чтобы... (never - за это, чтобы). Спасибо за это и за то (for this and for that).
Всегда, всегда, всегда все отлично !!!! Очень очень полезно.
klassni video
Kashif Ali Khan , спасибо.
У меня есть вопрос относительно предлога 'на' с движением. Почему русско- говорящие используют предложный падеж вместо винительного в следующем контексте: 'Я выхожу на следующей останоке' а не 'на следующую остановку'? Сердечно Вам спасибо!
Lutch Bizin ,
U r the best n fully understand
Thank u so much
Live Russian
I didn't understand very well the difference between к and на (for holiday, meal) ):
Can we use both of them into the same situation? (For holiday and meal of course)
Thank you
With some expressions we can.
@@AmazingRussian but it's just for holiday and meal?
@@tavo9209 , no, there are more expressions. For example, “a taste for something” - вкус к дизайну, к фильмам, к еде, к музыке...
@@AmazingRussian oh I see, well I thanks a lot for your help, greetings from Mexico 💙
Can i ask why at 10:40 the word gift is in genitive case, ist it inanimate object
never mind, I got it
I wish this had subtitles!
Was understanding but you say: Она едет в Россию на две недели. BUT Она была в России две недели. BOTH ARE FOR A PERIOD OF TIME so why is there no preposition in the second statement? Thanks
Robert Mion , посмотрите здесь. czcams.com/video/KjWWHyDkm1U/video.html
Можете ли вы дать мне возможности за контакты с путем попрорение с англоговорящими студенты кто изучает русский язык что бы совершить разговор?
Halil İbrahim Şimşek, you can find some language groups on Facebook. I cannot send you any personal contacts. Unfortunately, I cannot help you much here. Or maybe I did not understand your question. 🙂
на and к are both for meals and holidays, Какая разница?
katrina Avino Barracato , нет разницы.
Есть разница.
К Рождеству значит всегда купил ЗАРАНЕЕ.
На Рождество: можно использовать 1) как "к Рождеству" и 2) ВО ВРЕМЯ РОЖДЕСТВА
То есть предлог НА может иметь два смысла и зависит от ситуации.
👍👍👍
❤
「for」一語にロシア語はこんなにも使い分けなきゃいけないなんて大変だ!
kanakanazou , sorry, I do not understand.
試してみてください !
