Automata in Falmouth

This film celebrates the history of Falmouth's automata makers from its origin of Cabaret Mechanical Theatre at the High Street in Falmouth, to the local automata makers still working in this area.

My lovely wife and I travelled from Canada to Cornwall to visit the Falmouth Museum and view its collection of autamata. Unfortunately for us very few pieces were on display, but to our great delight one of the staff took us down to the storage vault where we were allowed to explore all their collection of autamata including those pieces awaiting repair. A hearty thank you to the wonderful staff at the Falmouth Museum, your kindness made our visit to your facility the highlight of our time in Cornwall.
