CuForming is a project of passion born from our love for both science and crafting.
Since 2018, we've been exploring the fascinating world of electroforming, where we merge the wonders of electrochemistry with geology, botany, zoology and the artistry of crafting.
Copper, with its versatility and beauty, is our favorite material to work with, and our designs are inspired by the intricate textures found in nature.
Through experimentation with chemicals, various materials, and the electroforming process, we create unique pieces that celebrate the intersection of science and art.
With inherited skills in electrical engineering, painting, sculpting and materials assembly, and the curiosity about new technologies such as 3D printing, CuForming is where science meets creativity. - Jak na to + styl

Love your method Acrylic paint 4g to 1g graphite powder and a teaspoon of water works wonders too and much cheaper
Thanks for sharing!
@@everardocoelhogomesfilho4618O que você quer dizer
Não é tão condutivo que você precisa para realmente polir o brilho. A primeira melhor aposta é com esmalte acrílico
I did the same mate and weirdly my rough texture objects are coming out great . The ones I prepped and polished do not a like me 😅@@cuforming
I should note that I did the dab technique on the ring.. the rough bases I just brushed it on as I normally would ... This whole thing is backwards to me I'm a spray painter and shinny normally is your enemy for adhesion 😅
Thanks so much 🙏🏼

Olá bom dia, onde encontro a receita da tinta condutiva?
no meu site www.cuforming.com/tutorials.php
I'm a tad confused at what ive done.. soooo I was anodizing parts that's how I have gotten here kinda..... Anyway decided to try electro forming my own 3d prints for the RC parts so I can annodise them or something alike .. I can definitely... Definitely make the solution and I certainly can get it to electroform onto the graphite.. first attempt was a miniature base and it was really rough intentionally.. I wanted to see how hard it was to get the hard areas to coat... It come out bolooosy great and all I did was finger polish it and give it a real quick once over with a micro fiber ..... Now when I anodise I end up with copper spikes all over the aluminum rods...... Today I tried to do a ring.... I cannot get it to stick to save my life and ita bloody shinner then before and the current and voltage even seem to line up better... Haven't checked the resistance but by looks this should have gone waaaaay better I did it to the letter 😅😅
Copper spikes are related to some contaminant in the electroforming solution, not to the conductive paint... you need to keep your workbenches separated, maybe in different rooms and to avoid other kind of metals near your tank, especially iron and nickel.
@@cuforming cheers for the feed back I shall do that.. and probably re do my solutions etc and get some new plates n things... Thankyou 🫡
Incredibly useful video! When dipping the part directly into the paint, how thick does it dry up? Does it leave visible drops/clumps?
Thickness depends on the concentration. To avoid drops or clumps, I just make a centrifugal movement to make all the excess paint detach from the piece. I do that inside the container, so it doesn't go all on my workbench.
@@cuforming ah alright. Have you had issues with the thickness of the paint causing loss in detail of the part? Because in the video, when you dip that little turtle in, it seems to leave quite a think layer. Or does that thickness kinda dissappear as it dries?
@@robinyilmaz1155 You need to wait until it dries... contact me on Instagram, I'll show you a picture of that same turtle finished.
@@cuforming I successfully slid into your instagram DM's
What solvent and sealer have you used? I have tried different methods, using 1.alcohol 2. Acrylic paint. But with these the copper would flake off…
Can you share this or maybe suggestions? I am trying to electroplate 3d printed items. (Resin)

Can you provide a link to where I can buy the solvent and sealant? The recipe is a bit vague.

Give away was on May 16th. Sorry. But thank you for your effort!!!
"Hello! In the airbrush method, what nozzle diameter did you use? I've tried and the airbrush gets clogged... :(
I actually don't know the diameter. I use the only one that came out with it, and it also gets clogged... but I only use it with the graphite paint so it's not a big deal for me since I clean it every time.
Is the sealant you're using pellets of acrylic (same as plexiglass) dissolved in acetone? If so. That's a pretty genius method to getting a hard and durable coating impregnated eith graphite!
I have a couple sheets of plexiglass from old displays, and was wondering what I could use the cut offs for, since I'd hate to waste them. Seems like a fantastic use for them! Keep up the good work 🫡👍
Thank you for the appreciation. If the plexiglass dissolves completely in the acetone, that can be done. Some kind of acrylic or polystyrene usually don't get liquid, they only reach a gooy state.
Polaroid B-72, with acetone as a solvent works the best. This is what it was designed for, ie...sealing, adhesive, consolidation, etc. It is what is used with fossil preparation and conservation.
@@terrynoles8539 And that is exactly what it is. Paraloid b-72 (not Polaroid 🙂). @cuforming This is not your invention, but you're selling the recipe like it is your own invention. I bought the recipe just to see what it was. Out of respect, I will not publish the % of the ingredients. Shame on you. And btw, use your own voice instead of an AI dubbed audio track on your other videos.
@@mflipse Yeah, sorry, Paraloid...my fingers got ahead of my brain for a bit.
@@mflipseCan you share the recipe with me?
I can use real fresh strawberry ?
Fresh strawberries have a lot of water in them which is gonna be trapped inside and get rotten in a week. You could try that, but you need to make a hole in the copper layer and remove flesh and liquids. Maybe after the electroforming process, you can bake the piece at a low temperature to allow it to dry. There is a video of Elementric Artworks which makes a raspberry, and he burns it red-hot with a torch. I wouldn't recommend that because the copper will get annealed and soft, and could get deformed just by pressing it with your fingers.
how to buy the sealant. thanks
It's all in the recipe... wait for the give away!!! Thank you!!!

If is possible to use the copper powder?
Yes, it's possible. Maybe you can lower the quantity, I've never tried with copper powder. You need to experiment a little.

Is this graphite paint enough durable for car headlight reflector?
This graphite paint is very durable. Its purpose is for electroforming and plating. What are you gonna do on car headlight reflector?
Thanks for reply.
I want to chrome plating headlight reflector, but it is plastic detail with high temperature and I need durable conductive paint. I think I found it now 😊
@@vladislavpishiev3065 I can't give you any insurance about high temperature. The binder in this product will melt with high temperature.
At high temperature I mean the temp that the headlight bulb created. I think it'snot over 70-80°C
@@vladislavpishiev3065 I know that the maximum temperature for the binder is 50°C, but since it's mixed with graphite, the range could raise to 80°C or even more. This matter necessitate of tests in different conditions.
