    This is perfect for Royal Marines who may struggle adapting to life as a civilian or just want to keep their toe in the water of the forces if they decide they do want to step back

    How can I become a reservist for an infantry profession and become an officer of the British Police Force?

    • @travisbickle0526
      @travisbickle0526 Před 3 lety

      Join the police first and complete your probation period (i think its a like a year or 2), then apply for the infantry reserves . You need to do it in that order or your life will become a nightmare trying to do everything at once.

    Do the police support officers to join the RMR, considering there is a greater demand of commitment for the RMR training compared to other reserve units of the armed forces?

    • @travisbickle0526
      @travisbickle0526 Před 3 lety

      I thought you weren't able to do both?? I was going to go down this exact career route but was told if i was in rmr i couldn't join the police

      @@travisbickle0526 I’ve just started with the police. The common knowledge is there’s no way of joining the RMR during probation but once fully independent and post probation, apparently there’s no reason why you can’t as long as you have your force’s agreement. I really hope they do support officers joining the reserves!

      @@travisbickle0526 Whilst it is possible to do both, the one thing you must take into consideration; if you join the police first...You will NEVER be allowed to join Special Forces because of the fact you are too easily researchable. However, if you only only want to join the Royal Marines Commandos then you should be fine. NOW understand the difference...(1) The police! They will teach you how to become Instatutionally racist, how to Pervert the course of justice, fabricate evidence, LIE and be an all round corrupt little miscreant! (2) The Royal Marines Commandos...You will learn husbandry, discipline (non existent in the police) leadership, how to effectively deal with EXTREME danger, they will teach you how to effectively communicate with almost all nationalities with compassion and leadership, you will be taught the meaning of life through hostile engagement, (not beat the shit out of someone with your asp because you carry a warrant card) You will learn the true meaning of the RULES OF ENGAGEMENT (ROE to gamers.) The Royal Marines Commandos are a Brotherhood 'they' will be with you for life and when you go into combat, you will know that every one of your fellow Marines will take a lead wasp (bullet) for YOU as YOU will for them! In the police all they do is throw their arms in the air stating "Don't hit me, I am a bleeder!" This is what my ex Chief Inspector told Aberdare police in 2008; "You did WHAT! David (me) has unquestionable integrity, is an expert tactician and had he stayed in (the police) he would have been at the very least the rank of Assistant Chief Constable. He didn't just have the recommendation of myself but also the Chief Constable (Robert (BOB) Lawrence) (So very sadly missed, NEVER FORGOTTEN) but also the 'Met' Commissioners and the Government Select Committee. I am ex - 7559 Spec Ops' De Cymru Heddlu. Trust me when I say this Join OARMAARM = Once A Royal Marine Always A Royal Marine! Once you are out of the loop (leave the police) you are OUT! Not so in the Royal Marines! Either way..Good Luck Ollie with whichever you choose. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

      @@kylebowley7078 hi mate, been a long time :) how you getting on? I've got my police OAC coming up. Heard that they've changed rmr to full time training now so that sucks but can only hope they'll change it back in the future
