How does someone throw a Callahan that bad at this level? That’s like something a bad pickup player would do. @12:10
It's because he's trying to make up for a mistake. He's supposed to be in position to field that disc quickly and throw the centering pass. He had screwed up and was out of position, then failed to field the disc cleanly, compounding the mistake. Then he tried to "fix" his mistake by rushing the centering pass he was supposed to make. One mistake leads to another, leading to another.
(Also, from my seats in the stands I knew it was a Callahan the moment he released it, but it wasn't as bad as that angle makes it look. The NYE defender was moving fast. Also, the other Colorado player partially screens the defender from the thrower's vision.)
Frankly I think Colorado deserved every bit of the loss. They're pretty classless and arrogant right off the bat especially to a visiting team, and they got shut up by force.

Glad to see other Ultimate fans enjoying the game but preferring it was without all the arrogance.
Honestly I think like 90% of it is from Atkins. You don't really see nutt or froude or spicer starting anything, it's always Atkins getting cocky in the first half and demeaning the opponents, who then in turn take it out on the rest of Colorado when they make a play, and then the rest of Colorado retaliates and it turns the whole game into a shit show

Yeah the first half wasn’t high scoring but that’s kinda what made it fun ngl
