  • Yeah, it's a good thing! If you've been around the block a couple of times then you'll know that creating bad pictures is all a part of the process!

Love this! The comparison to the comedian trying out jokes was spot on!

This is the same concept in music in that not every song is an absolute BANGER, most bands/artists produce a TON of mediocre songs and if they're lucky they manage to cobble together a hit and it took the whole journey of writing it all to get to the hit 👌

Volume matters. So too does introspection. Taking more photos means more opportunities to ask yourself "why doesn't this work?"

I totally agree. Henri-Cartier Bresson took thousands of pictures for 1 good. The thing is: dont love your pictures too much and be very hard with your work. Delete many , keep 10%.
But to me failure is not the point, point is frustration. Patience and persistence are the keystone. The other side is style: consistency.

Does that mean if my work sucks 100% I’ll be an even better photographer! Yippee! 😄

good message all the duds are like the toll fee for a good picture. Although it does feels even worse on film, getting duds knowing each one cost money. Spent like $500 on film and developing and most of the picture are just ok; 30% are bad, 50% are ok. 15% good, and 5% are great
