Psalm 23 brought me back to God after 27 years. I've been a born again believer ever since October 2017. He never gave up on me. I am struggling in my life but I know it's only temporary. Maranatha ๐

I was 51 when I opened my eyes and let Jesus into my life after pushing him away so many times ...so many opportunities missed ... You know that feeling of shock when you have a near death experience it was the same feeling of shock when the truth hit me I shook for at least an hour ...I know Jesus became a part of me at that very moment ....what a feeling ...contentment ..a feeling of belonging and acceptance my life has changed so much ....if the whole world woke up and let Jesus in we would have Heaven on earth and the Devil would no longer be able to corrupt people

and i was fully awake! I fell down on my knees in front of Him. I asked: Is it You?

I just lost a friend today, he was a young man he was a lover of the Lord! I'm greatful that he will awaken into the presence of Jesus when he wakes up he was 39 his name was James Adair , with a good heart he made loyal friends โค๏ธ hee will be greatly missed I pray that he's dwelling in the house of the Lord as we Speak.
Today is the anniversary of the passing of my best friend. The void that is left when they pass on can never be filled, but it gets easier with time. I am so thankful that he(my dearest friend) passed and was spared all that is to come upon the whole earth!! He is still missed so very much! But knowing he wont have to endure anymore comforts me. Im sorry your friend is gone. Sounds like you are in a good place tho. Hold on and endure!! Have a wonderful day reflecting on the inside jokes, the adventures you shared, the ways your life was made better by your friend being in it. Rest in the joy of having known him. Blessings upon you.

Now read psalm 23 and hear what Jesus felt
Even though I was not worthy, the Holy Spirit convicted me to read this beautiful passage to my future mother in law while she was in hospice care from stomach cancer in 2002. She was a fighter and was fighting as hard as she could to live for her son (my now husband now). I didnโt know back then but now I know that I needed to read that passage to her. She needed the reminder that it was ok to let go. The miracle happened, she took her last breath right when I got done reading her Psalm 23. God is so good, I know in my heart that she went home to be with the Lord that day.
The rod protects the sheep from enemies, the staff keeps the sheep with the herd on the right path.

And he said unto them, These [are] the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and [in] the prophets, and [in] the psalms, concerning me.
David was anointed by Samuel as a young lad, called in from the fields while being the shepherd of his fathers flock of sheep. At the time that David was anointed the Holy Spirit came upon him and he was then able to hear the quiet voice who became his guide, teacher, and comforter.

This preacher is excellent. I am 70 yrs young. I used to hear good Sermons yrs ago. Most I start listening to today, and I loose interest. But this preacher you cannot stop listening to him. PTL
That voice that voice , so strong , perceing , the strenth of power that is needed . GOD gives me that to move forward , he leades me , he guides , he sheilds , he give me hope for another day , i know that i know , i am not alone , my heaveenly father , thank you , i am happy and content in you no matter the season or storm , you are near , hold my hand , i need you .

Yet alive and young, David was talking about the valley of the shadow of death, which to most of us this means at the time that we are on our death bed, on the contrary David was talking about this "world", because this "world" is the valley of the shadow of death, because those that are lost without God, without Jesus as thier shepherd are the walking dead... the lord revealed this to me as I wondered one day about what it meant as one of God's children walking in the valley of the shadow of death, I shall fear no evil. There is no presence of evil in the light of God when one of God's children passes to Life... this verse must mean while God's children walk among the dead in the "world," we shall fear no evil, Jesus leads me to green pastures, the still waters, I shall not want (what the world offers me)...
@@HoneyBee-zh9zw I explained this Psalm to my children a few weeks back. We must seek him earnestly and with steadfast love and patience. For God is infallible and his love is forever.

@@lovealways2609 God the Father spoke to me. I was sitting on my friends covered porch on a hot Texas day smoking cigars. A storm blew in. Thunder crashed as rain fell. I cheered it on. Then it all stopped and I said aloud "Thank you Father" and HE responded "I thought you'd like that". HE knew I'd like it but said "I thought". HE made a storm for me then was humble to me. Our Dear Dad!
HE also gave me a waking vision of in the clouds in a glorified body. I was sitting in my office chair then I opened a door to the clouds. I looked at the clouds then walked out on the ground. I looked around at everything and beautiful clouds. I felt so well and light like I could fly and the bag of burden I drag with me was GONE! I saw an edge and walked over to look down. When I got there I looked down then I was back in my office chair. It was beautiful. It's there waiting for us and I've already been there.

When Jesus spends time with me like that, it feels like Iโm in a vortex. Itโs happened 3 times...everything gets very still & quiet. I can feel His Holy Angels in that stillness w me too. It is Truly amazing!

@@dabaum6278 I believe you! First time I heard Jesus he woke me up in bed and answered my prayer which was "You're on the right path". He spoke into my right ear, the one with no ear drum and clear as a bell. Second time was after everything fell apart for me and I had to move back in with Mom. I was cursing Him and Dad then I said "Jesus, why do you put up with me" and he answered "Because I love you". I never said anything back to Father or Brother. I was cursing Him as He stood next to me. It's a love we can't understand, yet. I've heard Dad and Brother but I haven't heard the Holy Spirit. I've heard Satan's voice too. This Summer makes me a 30 year brain tumor survivor. I'm 42 and I've already had 3 strokes. They have been GOOD to me. God bless you Sister!

Amen to this encouraging share.In short, I've experienced this walking down the valley of the shadow of death twice in my life in SA. In 2004 coming home to my family alone, I was farm attacked by seven intruders at 10pm at night......the initial contact was this guy pointing his weapon at me, as I got out of my bakkie ( van / pickup).....only once I'd locked the van door did I realize this chap was about to shoot me from 5 meters away......so I decided to try and get to my wife and two daughters inside the house.....as went around the bonnet of the vehicle running, as I got to the lawn, he opened fire, hitting me in my back, while the bullet went right through my ribs missing ALL my vitals .....the bullet missed my spine by 1mm....Hallelujah. Then 6 other guys came out of the bush in the garden and simply began to beat me up with sticks and gun buts cracked onto my head a few times, then they picked me up on either side of my arms and dragged me to the front door, where my beautiful wife was, who came out to investigate the commotion going on outside. They then proceeded to beat her over the head with a few harsh heavy blows, causing blood to flow down her face instantly ๐ they then shouted for money and weapons.....well they then threw me down into the entrance hallway, while ordering my wife to taking them to our bedroom where the safe was.....they took what they came for then simply tied our wrists up with two strong cable ties , then literally disappeared into the night!!
While a few years had passed (5) and while still trying to overcome this trauma, two nights before Christmas eve, two armed men and a huge stainless steel knife ,came into our home while we were preparing for my in laws arrival the following day......the guy holding the weapon took a shot at me from literally 2 meters away, as he shot straight at me I managed to simultaneously throw the door on its hinges to try and close the door.....well, well, well.....the bullet just missed my neck, after an almighty " bang" as you can imagine! throwing me to the floor while the bullet hit the door, at my neck height, the bullet went right through the door then hit the window, then smashing against the wall outside on the portico! ๐๐ they then proceeded to shout and demand money and guns once again....while the ducking & diving was going on, my wife and two young daughters at the time literally cried out to JESUS to save us.....during the ordeal I heard the words repetitively..... Jesus, Jesus, Jesus ๐๐๐ they then ordered us all to the bedroom where they began shouting about 4 times to us.....if you don't give us the money we are gonna kill one of your daughters. Well we'll, the pressure was on.....because the following day was pay day, I told them that we had banked the money, into the bank....but I lied to them, while knowing that I was testing their metal about the banking of the money! Long story made short, after the 4th shouting session, the guy holding the weapon said....let's just take the weapons and get out of here, which they did but only after ordering me to open the secret gun safe in our large cupboard....they demanded all of them and took all of them barring one! which was under my mattress at the time.....they then ran to my dauggters rooms and collected their cell phones and our laptop....they disappeared into the night leaving us shattered and shaken!! Our God is GOOD.....Though I walk through the shadow of, we are very much here and alive, restored in God, victorious in ALL circumstances.....why? because nothing will ever separate us from His eternal LOVE โค ๐๐๐โ
I cant even begin to imagine what you went through and the mental and emotional after effects.

I read this verse every day psalm 23 I love it God is good all the time
Several months ago the Lord revealed a part of this Psalm to me, He spoke through the Holy Spirit and saidtha5 death is nothing but a shadow to the true believer in Christ The Lord, a shadow can not hold me, nor prevent me from moving, this was such a wonderful truth! And now as I face a third heart surgery, God in His mercy, led me to hear the rest! Although I positive there is SO much more to be learned from this Psalm! Thank You Father in Heaven for all Your wonderful truths!
This is so beautiful and thank you for sharing it. I wondered what David meant by thy rod and staff comforting him as well and since I knew that shepherds used a rod and staff, I studied biblical shepherds hoping to find this meaning out. He is correct in saying it was for the enemy because they would use it to fight off wild animals who attack the herd, but I wanted to point out what else it was used for that actually really touched me. The shepherd would use his rod and staff to keep the sheep from going astray. That made me think that David is saying it comforts him to show that being prodded by it reminds him because he knows God is keeping him safe and cares enough to keep him by His side so he may dwell with the Lord forever. Also, I wanna point out if your dwelling in the house of the Lord you cant be an earth dweller. Idk much and I've only been saved since October 2017 but if I had to use one word to describe this passage it would be obedience. Again, thank you and God bless!!!

We all live in the Valley of the Shadow of Death. That is the realm we are currently in. The House of the Lord is the Heavenly Mansion that is the goal that the righteous strive to be worthy of by following the Lord's commandments. This Psalm is my favorite one. Selah
Rod and staff are a way of directing sheep, and sometimes being rough with them to pull them out to medicate or help one. Sometimes you might bonk something over the head with it, like a dog or predator.
What a comfort God's word is for us, to know exactly how to make him pleased, and to know we aren't the only ones born in sin and there is a way to saftey.
