  • The rare Yamaha PF-2000 was a digital piano that was essentially two DX7ii's in a single 88-key weighted controller. I've never played one in real life but the AFTERTOUCH article states it contains two complete DX7ii engines- thus maintaining 16-voice polyphony even in dual or split modes. It came with a cartridge similar, but not identical to the DX7ii's factory presets. In fact, they seem to have refined some of the envelopes and pitch EG to be a bit less exaggerated. At some point I'll upload a spreadsheet of the patch names for comparison.

DX7 and M1 were my favorites back then...

Thanks. Time has been short these days but summer has brought a little break for DX stuff.

Thanks. There are relatively few videos out there on the dx functions of the PF, if you ever wanted to make one...

Sounds amazing. The native vsti emulations just dont come close imho. The hardware sounds creamy and alive. ❤

I agree- although the plogue vst is quite good. Still, nobody has emulated a true mark2 dx7 and the dual and unison modes is what makes the mark2 so special.
