Started ugf tank bare bottom today. Thank you for everything
Glad it helps. Good luck with your new setup buddy!
Best shrimp content on YT by far ❤
is nice to see someone going for the health of the animal not just looks
love this setup! beautiful tank and beautiful shrimp. love seeing 150 shrimp introduced into an aquarium. I agree, lots and tons of shrimp looks amazing!
Thank you Ray, We are both addicted to large numbers of shrimp. What can be better to feed thousands of shrimp? I saw you also often use lava rocks in your setup. I think it's great media for neos and Sulawesi shrimp
Love your video as always 👍
This is how i set up my tank too..UGF and sponge filter with flame moss…easy cleaning..and easy maintenance…for my sulawesi and caridina…
“Just pretend you have a fish”😂 such great comedy lines 👍
Great evolution
WOW! amazing tank. I just got a ton of lava rocks for a larger Aqua scaping tank with lots of lava left over. Will definitely have to mimic this one. Love your vids keep it up.
Thank you my friend! Lava rock is a great media for neos, lots of surface area, it also looks cool if you place a few rocks in the tank with some plants on them.
I love shrimps speaking haha :D
looks wonderful😁😁
thanks😊
The flame moss wow it grew soo big and the shrimp got a pretty cool colour to them
Lol I like the lava rock pounding montage
Haha thanks mate!
I use tap water to keep them and have good results, also using boyu sponge filters in my opinion one of the best filters to keep shrimps
Babe wake up shrimp mania just posted!
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it
Interesting😊😁
Very nice colony of dreams....❤
Thanks!
the worms-style voice is awesome:) Very nice shrimps too. I wish I could buy some of your shrimps to be fair:)
Right, you played the worms game as well then haha. Yes that voice is very similar. I might sell some but only locally in the UK. Not sure where you are from.
I am new subscriber for you and I love you plant setup at a single video .love 💓 from India🇮🇳
Thanks and welcome
great video
Glad you enjoyed
Wow
we need more of theseeeeeeeeeeeee!!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
May I ask which camera and lens u used to film those tiny shrimp that far so clearly?
That’s awesome. Gives me inspiration for no substrate tank! What bacteria powder did you add? I have bacter ae would that work?
The link for the powder is in description. Bacter ae wouldn't work from my experience
May I ask which camera and lens u used to film those tiny shrimp that far so clearly? 6:10 6:10
nice video !!!!!
Thanks man!
Beautiful Shrimp and tank. I have two bare bottom tanks and im afraid to syphon the water like you do because i might loose many babies.
I always siphon a few babies when I clean it. It's easy to find them in the bucket and move them back to the tank after the water change but it's better to use the white bucket
Amazing! where do you think the micro-flora come from? substrate or bacteria powder? I really want them (copepods, seedshrimps, worms, etc)
I've got this question quite a lot. They can come in as hitchhikers with the plants, substrate, rocks or even on the bodies of fish, shrimp or snails. Copepods particularly come into my tanks with Dead Shrimp Powder I'm using. They always appear in the tanks after a week or two in my new setups
I am amazed how you got such nice green walls from DSP. I use DSP too and never get that much green! Any recommendations? Should I just keep adding more DSP until it turns green?
Actually there are a few reasons why green walls might not grow. 1 Freshwater limpets. If you have them in your tank they will scrape it off before it even starts to grow. More food for them more limpets will breed and you will feed them with DPS and not your algae/shrimp. 2 - Fast-growing plants like stem plants or any other rooted plants will outcompete algae and you won't have green walls. That's why I'm only using mosses and buce plants. 3 Floating plants they are blocking the light and suck all the nutrients. It is also better to set the tank with DPS from the beginning in already established tanks it might not work for some reason.
I like the name "big boy "for the hammer! 😂
It's been with me for 20 years so I had to name it, I also have a 'little boy ' the smaller one😂
@@ShrimpManiaгде ты покупаешь пластиковый камень для распыления воздуха??
Sooo damn NICE. I am in love with the shrimp keeping. I need to start so badly but the water here is BLEH.. it's too hard I guess. But I am testing with several couples in a tank. being very observant. The biggest question is. do they breed less if the tank is filled with plants?
Quite an opposite they thrive in the planted tanks (without co2)
Could you show us what LED lamp are you used?
How long does the lava rock work as a filtration media before needing to cycle in a new UGF? What do you do with the old lava rock; can it be cleaned somehow and reused for another tank setup?
Love your content! Keep it coming. 👏
You don't need to change lava rocks ever man. Lava rock can be used indefinitely. Don't mistake it for active soil that depletes after a year or so. Lava rock is inert media nothing happens with it over time.
never seen that colour :O they remind me of the spider man suit :D
What filter box in the corner ?
Hi, any suggestions for a neo Caridina planted tank with a substrate that does not lower ph?
I want to try a new aquascape and I usually keep caridina but I struggle with the sensitive crystal shrimp in co2, rocks leeching hardness, lots of fertilizers etc. I’m thinking that neos are the solution since I’ve found them to be so hardy. But I’d like to at least have the ph good for them
Higher ph soils from my experience - fluval stratum, GlasGarten Environment, SL aqua. But you shouldn't worry too much about ph berceuse your water will be with kh of 3-5 for neos. So it will buffer your ph to above 7 no matter what soil you using.
For caridina shrimp what temperature range do you recommend? I set my tank to 23 and it's gotten up to about 26 with the warm weather. I know too warm is an issue but are a few days at higher temps an issue?
Well last summer I lost a lot of shrimp in the heat wave. Caridina will start to die in temp above 25-26. After that I invested in aircon to keep my temp below 24. At least buy a fan, switch off the light, internal and external filters or any water pumps in the tank will heating the water by 1-3 degrees that's why air driven filters like sponge or ugf are recommended to reduce the temperature of the water
I want to switch my tap water to r.o for my blue dreams how do you recommend I do the change over without affecting them I have salty shrimp gh/kh+
I would simply do the next water change with remineralised ro water
I have so many seed shrimp in my red cherry shrimp tank, and they have taken over the substrate. I was thinking I should create another tank to put my shrimp in, to get rid of the seed shrimp, and having a bare bottom instead of substrate. Now looking at your tank with so many seed shrimp, I am wondering if I should bother changing it, maybe I should just accept the seed shrimp? I get concerned that the seed shrimp will out compete my baby shrimp for food, so I am probably over feeding to compensate. What is your advice?
Seed shrimp are ok if not too many. It looks like I have a lot of them in the video because they are all in one corner. If you overfeed they will multiply even more - more food more seed shrimp. In bare bottom you can siphon them if you want to.
where do you get your shrimp. I've been trying to get some but fishstores near me Don't have them in stock and I fear they might die in shipping. Any suggestions or places you've had successful delivery?
I got them from eBay. It's ok to ship shrimp. I do it all the time.
Hello in time 5:50-5:55 you have a white worm swimming there, is it good or is it a parasite. Thank you for your response
It's good worm
You should Hard cull those Blue dreams. Clean that rust Color. But cool Video 👍

I like them, I want more of them. They look cool
hi - the water in one of my Neo tanks is very green and hard for me to see through the tank. the shrimp however seem healthy and are having babies. does anyone have suggestions on how I can make the water less green and more clear? thanks shrimp community!
I'm using internal filter with uv light to clear green water. It normally takes couple of weeks to completely remove green or cloudiness
Can I ask how long you leave the lights on each day to maintain the green wall ?
10h a day
Hi , One of my red shrimp is carrying eggs . Last night she was okay , cleaning her eggs and eating well . But today when it's feeding time , I saw her eggs disappeared . Like , she was never been pregnant . There are no eggs , gone gone . I search nook and cranny hoping maybe the eggs were hatched and I can't see baby shrimp but I see nothing . The shrimps i have is in the same tank with cardinals and pea puffers . What do you think happen ?
Mostly the eggs hatched. You cant spot shrimps when they just hatched. They tend to hide in the substrates.
Amazing video! I have been cycling my 2 caridina shrimp tanks now for 6 weeks, I use RO water, AE Bacter and UGF boxes but I still have no green walls in the tank!! My lights are on for 13 hours per day. Any help or ideas? 🦐
i’m doing the same as you but my light has high intensity and on for 24hrs, i add a little pinch of fish food every 5days and in 2 weeks i have green algae all over my glass.. try it hope it will work for u.
I agree fish flack probably works better for growing green walls than Bacter AE
@@opawikztv6569Thankyou for your help. I have added some powdered fish flake to the tanks now
@@ShrimpMania Thankyou for your help. I have added some powdered fish flake to the tanks now
Hello can we use sand and aqua soil mix for breeding..
Can't see any problems with your mix. Will be good plants growth for sure
7:12 😊
thank you
offtopic: where is his accent from? quite nice
What are the ingredients in the powder? The ebay page doesn't clarify about them. Also it says that when it's used you will see copepods after a few days. Does this mean the powder has copepod eggs in it?
I have no idea. Tai Cheng the guy who making it keeps it in secret he didn't tell me
@@ShrimpMania can it be shipped to Greece? I am interested. Should I order through your ebay?
@@vgstm6016 sure go ahead I will post to any country in the EU
Have it analyzed by a laboratory if you're curious to understand what's inside 😆
i'm guessing drip acclimation wasn't needed? i get paranoid with shrimp still
I did it off camera
Could you explain your filter a little? Id like to try that...
Just watch my videos and you will learn about it
What is the water temperature in your tank?
Room temperature 22-23
which is the moss on coconut shell?
Look I mentioned it 2 times in the video I even put a text with the plant name on the screen, i don't know man you have to watch it first before asking this
can you explain the wall algae?

My shrimp don't come out like this for food. Heck some times a piece will go untouched and I have to siphon it out
It happens if you only have few shrimp in the tank they don't need food at all
why hair algae never grows on your tank?
idk but I do have some other type of algae in some of my tanks
I got problems with hair algae on my shrimp tanks🤣 i should probably cover all the sides.
What is that powder called again? And where can you buy it?
Bacta AE likely
It is called Dead shrimp powder. It's made by one of the Taiwanese breeder, it's not a commercial brand so it's hard to get, You can look online or buy it from my eBay store depending on where you are. The link is in the description.
@@ShrimpMania Its very good, I bought a kilo of the stuff after you sent me some before. 😀

he literally says bacteria powder multiple times 😂
No momey to buy a simple tank, but money enough for those two lamps?
They are cheap light from aliexpress and they were so bad so i ended up to make my own diy light in the end
@@ShrimpManiado you have a video about the diy light?
For some reasons i try Shrimp keeping 2 times they all die
I know they are not easy. It's all about water parameters.
