2 Latino metalheads talking about the experience of playing in metal bands. ES TODOOOOOO!!!!
Two mexicans!!
Wheres the latinos??? They are americans with latin surnames. It's funny Derek Sanchez, Joshep Perez, Matt Lopez, etc, etc, ha ha ha. Parents are crazy with those names to become "americans". It's different to be a latin american livin in latin america that be americans livin in american with 0 contact with latin america and only with spanish heritage surname. BIG DIFFERENCE.

Art is a legend.
My band got to open for WOP in 2018 and I got the opportunity to meet him and tell him how much his early drums videos and work influenced me. He left, then came back with a cymbal off his kit, signed it and gave it to me. A moment I’ll never forget as long as I live. Dude is so down to earth, and deserves everything he’s got. 🤘🏽
Art Cruz is one of the coolest people on this planet! He finally achieves the one thing he wants most and he's nearly shitting his pants worrying about whether or not he's gonna play the music right. He is the best person I have ever seen in my 53 years of life to replace Chris Adler. The most down to Earth guy who all of us would love to meet and talk to about music, magic and life in general. Art deserves the best from life and I hope he gets the best everyday of his life. Rock on Art!!!!
These two dudes have the most positive vibe ever. They seem like such nice people to be around. Also, the appreciation for success rather then the arrogance of it is very refreshing.
I will always remember Art when he first started playing with winds of plague after their split with Jeff. And his Houdini portrait tattoo. He was always a down dude.
Hell yeah Buffalo!!! Love that part of the story! Art is one my fav drummers, he makes it look effortless! This podcast slaps btw! Thanks Garza! 🤘🏻🤙🏻
I remember that Lamb of God, Trivium, Machine Head and Gojira tour in Calgary, Alberta. It was my first time seeing all of these bands. I remember Lamb was taking a while to hit the stage and people started throwing bottles and shit at the stage. (Side note I was very front at the barrier… what a fucking experience!) one of lambs techs came on stage and came to the mic. He yelled “are you all ready to see lamb of god?!” The crowd went wild. He replied with “then stop fucking throwing bottles at the drum kit” the crowd went wild again! They ended up coming on and opening with laid to rest and blew the fucking power 15 or so seconds in. They changed rigs and continued to slay. Man what a fucking experience for my first LOG show. Such an epic night. All the other bands killed it as well.
I've seen WoP atleast 10 times and about half the time I bumped into Art and dude is solid as hell. Totally down to earth, so glad for him to have gone to where he's at now
His drumming was so good on Omens too.
Art is such a class act. Love him! So hardworking, and so talented. I'd love to meet him one day.
I learned a lot about Art Cruz that I never knew before this. An absolutely great interview. I guess with him being a musician as well that he asks questions that aren't the standard ones you get from nearly every music interview. I really enjoyed this! Awesome Corey Taylor story and it's so good they get to do this tour coming up together. Lot of history and it's going to make for some cool moments along the way.
So bad ass. So happy for Art!🤘
Not even half way through this episode but I have to say, such a great conversation man, very inspiring! Thx for both of you! Love from Taiwan 🇹🇼
Thanks so much for this Garz. The way Art broke it all down for us, how he got his shot thanks to u & Suicide Silence, another Great Garza podcast 💀

It's awesome hearing his journey into Magic. He showed me some tricks years ago at a show. He's the only metal magician I know besides myself. 🤘

Just finished Whitechapel & Glen Benton episodes, solid podcast setup and guest listings. No flashy promo product placing or SNL mimicking, just the essentials
I didn't know who Art Cruz was until I saw Lamb of God open up for Pantera this summer. Dude is a beast on the drums.

I waiting from 8am till 2.30pm to hopefullu get a glimpse of Fear Factory. Got to meet Dino and Burt, I get how it is to be that into a band 🤘 Meeting LOG with Chris was beyond amazing too. Hell at 38 I'm still pumped, would love to meet Art.
I remember when Winds of Plague opened for As I Lay Dying back in June 2018. Art was in front of me playing drums (Was SOMA Backstage) what beast to watch up close!! I drove from Fresno and it was one of the best shows. I was in the mosh with Art and he was also crowdsurfing while AILD was playing. At the end of Winds Of Plague set, Art handed his cymbal to one of the fans in the crowd. What a fucking badass 🔥
my man, awesome vid
Art rules!
I rememeber seeng Art in Prong when they came to Jacksonville in 2016. There were like 25 people there in a small club, but they had so much energy. Art was playing drums and throwing his stick to the drum tech during the song lol
