destiny escobedo There's plenty. Japanese the originator, English, German, Khmer, and spanish but then you will have other version in different language but not as famous as the earlier covers. But these covers will never be the exact lyric as the originals but it's pretty good.
Maria Lacher . Hi Maria. Sorry to disappoint you, but this is actually nothing like the original Japanese song. It gets complicated but This is a Spanish version of an English lyric version of the song. It actually does not have a single word of the original Japanese song. The English version was really just put to a vaguely similar tune to sukiyaki, but at a different speed. It is actually a very nice song though. I think the best version in English lyrics was by a singer named Nishida Hikaru, who is Japanese but sang it in English. This Spanish version is also very good. But it can never be compared to the original, it just happens to have the same title
Spanish is such a beautiful language. I love the original Japanese version too. Spanish and Japanese, though not related have many of the same vowel sounds.
She also did her version of "To Sir With Love" in Spanish as "Un Primer Amor." Also she sang Patsy Cline's Sweet Dreams of you in Spanish as "No Puedo Estar Sin Ti."
nice to meet you all. I am Japanese. I'm looking for Sukiyaki (Let's walk upwards) songs in various languages. First time seeing this version. I would like to know the name of the band (vocals) in this video and the lyrics in the original language. Please let me know, thank you.
@@selenafan Sorry for the late reply. Thank you for letting me know the Spanish lyrics and artist name. It was Selena, who was shot dead at the age of 23.
Thanks for sharing I've never seen the clips with the waterfall thing behind her. :) I love their version of Sukiyaki so much! The best! Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think they're the only ones who covered Sukiyaki in Spanish.. right?
The original version of this song is Japanese and the title of the song is "Ue o Muite Aruko" that means something like "I Look up while I walk" - the song was a number 1 in the United States for three weeks in 1963 - detail: sung in Japanese, but it was hard to Americans to speak in Japanese, so to make the life easier to Americans, the radios called it as "Sukiyaki" - it's a bit ridiculous because sukiyaki is a Japanese dish with meat, vegetables, shoyu and sometimes, raw eggs... but anyway, it worked, the song is a world wide hit.
Never forget you Selena. 28 years later still love you over people today. You and your music will forever live on.
SO SAD THAT SHE WAS TAKEN FROM US AT SUCH A YOUNG AGE. THE PERSON WHO KILLED HER SHOULD HAVE BEEN GIVEN A LIFE SENTENCE WITH NO CHANCE OF PAROLE. TAKING SOMEONES LIFE IS THE ULTIMATE CRIME

The original version is in Japanese, I have heard that the original is about a person that commited suicide.

wow!..Selena singing Sukiyaki Japanese famous song in the 60s in Spanish.
She also did her version of "To Sir With Love" in Spanish as "Un Primer Amor." Also she sang Patsy Cline's Sweet Dreams of you in Spanish as "No Puedo Estar Sin Ti."
I wrote the spanish lyrics and the spanish is completly different meaning than the original Japanese and english versions
Abraham Quintanilla Did "A Taste of Honey" ever comment on the Johnny Canales Preformance?
Actually no. The lyrics cant be the same but the meaning is the same
Do you have the lyrics to them all somewhere online?

Why "Sukiyaki"? - Por que "Sukuyaki"?
+David Duran sukiyaki is the name of the original Japanese song. Selena is singing a cover.
Oh thank you

DMarinari Because the guy who brought the song to the UK liked the name after the dish he loved and it was easier to remember then "Ue o Muite Aruko".
languange ?
Spanish, but the original was in Japanese
Beautiful but too much bass drum .
It ruins the song!

2. SUSIE. ALLEN 19 76 TUCKER GA 4 EVER❤
