Its jeskai with Rona, the pia nalar who makes thopters, inti, eruth tormented prohpet, and rustler rampage from OTJ to untap the board. The wrens resolve and reckless impulse rip through the deck. This version is surprisingly fast and has many different avenues to victory. Would love to see you run it. ✌✌

@@LegenVD The versions I've seen involve Rakdos joins up, Rona, Ruts and Drivnod for a one turn kill.
After all this time I still only have one Rona and never play the esper archetypes that use the card so never crafted. As standard is coming up to rotation it's interesting seeing what I only have 1-2 of and worked around, or what I now belatedly have the full 4.
By far my favorite running gag is the slowly fading in classical music as things begin to become unhinged.

Not to sound corny, but your videos actually do hold a lot of value. It's not just "hey here's the deck, let's go." You take the time to make sure that even if you're brand new to the game you can follow this rather complex deck. Absolutely outstanding.

I'll add I was doing a similar combo with the caverns gods that return as lands (or Edgar) and Invasion of Amonkhet, but this one is much easier as you don't need to flip a battle. Nice stuff!

Important to note: this deck is rotation-proof. The other 4 color legend/combo deck is devistated by rotation, losing a large number of important cards. So once rotation happens, this might be the way to go.

At 40:00, you do have the option of making an arbitrarily large Bartolome, by holding full control, casting Rutstein, and then saccing the other Rutstien before the one on the stack resolves.
The first game really showed the joy of playing infinit combos on arena.

This looks like a deck that would be so much nicer in paper where you can just show the combo and say "Now I put 100 counters on Bartolomé"
Since people finally figured this out I’ve been having trouble keeping a Rona alive. Did this months ago…
Using Loran and something like Skrelv or Syr Ginger you can loop ping damage endlessly. It’s just easier now with Joins Up, Rutstein, etc

At 10:00 you could play rutstein bringing back bartolome to hand for an extra activation on rona potentially finding a lethal draw.
For sure, but wanted to keep Rutstein in hand in case we didn't win right away and they could remove one of our combo pieces.
I also was experimenting with a double combo legend list---- the combo I had was Loran (4 mana, whenever a legend etbs return artifact to hand) with 2 syr ginger, mana reduction for 2 (rutstein + mana rock or kenriths royal funeral. With the benefit being not needing any sac outlets in the deck, but also perhaps weaker cards overall
The initiate may be hopeful but it seems like the opponent was quite hopeless :D

I think you’d be able to make an infinitely large Bartolome at 41:00. Each time you cast Rutstein, you can hold priority to sacrifice the old Rutstein for a +1/+1 counter.
I actually use a Orzhov sac deck with the Danitha combo works well enough even without her although an 'indestructible' vigilant lifelinker is not bad. 😂

Murdering Rona right at the end reminded me of the time that you attacked with the faithful companion for 19 damage over 19 turns and then sacrificed it right at the end. LVD seems like a great guy, but he will throw you under the bus in the end if it means he'll win.

I generally dont feel bad for people, but that was a good chunk of their life that the opponent from game 1 will never get back.
At 24:10 you say that you "can't cast Cut Down until Bartolomé sticks around", but worth noting is that Plaza of Heroes cares about legendary *permanents*, so Tinybones Joins Up would have given you the black mana as well.

Just to help your mouse hand as you rip off the combos, anytime you want to hit the 'submit' button you can simply press space bar. That should save you some time/aches!

Has combos in standard have been on the rise over the past few years or so? Not complaining at all, just really curious. Standard has been reaching higher and higher power levels seemingly each and every set! So long as there are ways to interact within the standard card pool, I can never be mad at combo decks. They're just inherently cool!

Bigger formats often lead to more combos, so it’s not that surprising!
How do you feel about the current color pie flavour? Pun intended. Rosewater talks about how each color can evolve to do different things. I feel like they are kinda missing an identity for white other than the second most annoying color to play against for casuals. It can make huge creatures, lots of tokens, flying, destroy, exile, board wipe, gain life, ramp, tutor, counter(kinda), draw, protection, etb, etc. Am I thinking about this too broadly or narrowly?

Not a big fan of this crime mechanic, Tiny Bones joins up could've been "each opponent" but instead it has to be this annoying "any number of targets" that slows down the Arena combos.
Upside is that you can occasionally mill yourself now, but it does slow things down.
I was so sad watching game 5... that's why you always play to the end, though
gonna be a real sad time on this channel when rona/relic rotate out
Combos in arena are so bad for both parties. Takes so long. They really need a “do x amount of times” option after repeating the same action 3 or more times.
