- Is that a little red car, or what?!! I love it : - ) And it's a pretty good car too.
So now I have two wooden pedal cars, and the road ahead is exciting...

I like "the Bentwood Flyer" because Bentwood sounds like Bentley which makes it a very classy-sounding name for a car 😄
Since it is made of wood: I would call it a WOODSTER (referring to a ROADSTER, wich is made of...... 😉)
not sequoia? as its red and made of wood.
@@benholroyd5221 There's already the Toyota Sequoia, and it's not necessarily red.
I had the same thought😅
“Roadster” is a very USA term / name. This is an Irish car..
Call it the Bentwood Roadster.
Love it. I like the name The Mott.
What is particularly appealing is the little three wheel's sustainability and the fact that the vehicle can be built in a shed with simple tools.
Chipper would be a good name as it’s made of board and puts a smile on your face. The names suggested were a bit half hearted and basic. It’s a great looking thing.
The Bentwood Flyer sounds like a proper model name. Though i do like the idea of calling it The Mott casually.
I was initially surprised "Way Out Wagon" wasn't a suggestion, but then second thoughts remind me that 'Wagon' means something else in Ireland... 'The Mott' seems cute and iconic.
If I may present a humble suggestion for naming this amazing little machine: The WOW (for Way Out West).
I say go with the bentwood flyer. If you go with the flintstones. You may have legal issues from hannah and barbara In california
Feck em
Flintstone is not a word that has been made up by hannah and barbara, it was in the public domain for centuries before they were invented so they can't claim ownership or copyright. Flintstone Flyer would be my choice.
@chrishamilton-wearing3232 You do know lawyers are screwed up, right? They will Sue anybody for anything. Not necessarily to win, but to make you go. Broke defending yourself
In dutch a "mot" is a small butterfly. I like that name.
The Timobile! The layout is the shape of a T and you, the inventor/creator, are Tim. Simply put them together.
I have no idea what Mott means, that's why it's the perfect name! A short catchy name indeed.
The mott means your girlfriend or wife.
@@RegNarnoc21 Now that I know I like it!!
agreed
The Mott sounds great even for us internationals who have no idea what it means.
deffinetly, it sounds clean and its a simple little name that could be recognizable
I Googled it, so take it with a grain of salt, but apparently, it means girlfriend.
@@tracybowling1156 ha! If so it'll make a lot of sense as blokes put the together in their garages at the expense of dinner with the wife.
@tracybowling1156 I wouldn't call it that!!!
It doesn't mean girlfriend, it's slang for vagina!
It's used in the same context as other similar slang words.
Got to be called the TBF as in bent wood fly.
You have covered Bugatti Blue
Ferrari Red
We need
British Racing Green
next
They are some great names.
I think I like Little Wooden Pedal Car best though.
This project has come so far.
I personally like "the Mott", mostly since it seems cute, friendly, and reminds me a bit of a Doctor Who character. Can't wait for the plans, and thanks for sharing the development
The Bentwood Flyer. Very classy and astute. Who would not be smiling and proud when they tell their mates, "I own a Brentwood Flyer"?
Bentwood flyer. The best pedal roadster ever built.
Hello
Add brake light
And reflector tap on front and back and sides with diffrent color for better visibility at night and may be some bicycle fender for front wheel for less water splashing and for back wheel
It looks lovely! I vote for "The Mott" name.
aye! its nice clean and sharp, I like "The Mott"
deffinetly my vote too
My vote would be for The Flintstone Flyer - very catchy!
Excellent Tim. Reminds me so much of the lath, canvas and plywood canoes we made in the 1960s from Percy Blandford plans in our lunchtimes at school. They were great fun on the local rivers. I'm sure schools would love your plans for projects and even inter school races perhaps! Just think of the fun the teachers would have writing out all the risk assessments...
that's a good point, this would be a great engineering project for students because you can build it with standard shop tools and it doesn't require any welding or special equipment to manufacture.
If the Collins online dictionary is correct, then The Mott is something you might want to rethink! 😲
The Bentwood flyer, thanks for showing it, Tim 😊
Yes, I agree that "Bentwood Flier" seems appropriate. Well done.
I like the name ‘The Bentwood Flyer’ or ‘The Western Flyer.’
An umbrella is quite aerodynamic, inexpensive and easy to stow and deploy. They are used in boats.
Great design and ingenuity applied there. Brilliant
Or a simple bimini top with snaps.
Some "storm umbrellas" exist... but what cost and fun to make?
The Bentwood Flyer is a great name
I am "red"-y for the full plans to be released.
same here! these little cars "blue" me away
@@lizzard3699 thank you for the smile.
@@msears101 hahaha, thank you too!
The Bentwood Flyer sound cool!
As a wooden tricycle I'd call it the Tree Wheeler, but I don't know how well that would go over in Ireland!
Hi Tim! The Flintstone Flyer sounds great for a pretty cool car! I'm glad you had a grand time with Liam. I'd say that you can't receive higher praise than your own son saying this is your best invention! It IS pretty cool or "smart," as you'd lot say! 😊
My one thought is that at an intersection someone might not be able to see the turn indicators from the side you're turning away from. Not a big problem, I grant you. Love this project. Spruce Speedster, Beech Buggy, Oak Mobile, Elm Express.
The Mott
Bentwood Flyer gets my vote.
When will there be more videos about the field railway, and are you planning to repair your band saw again?
i was always here for the railway content and updates but this little car journey has been fun to good job Tim good luck on your future projects
ya it's the railway that got me hooked on this channel too 😄
Also the stuff he builds for that antique diesel engine in the shed, lol
Bentwood flyer sounds good
Congratulations, such a brilliant achievement. Bentwood Flyer is the best name I think
This is super, Tim! Anyone who gets to try it will be smiling as much as I was. It’s so beautiful to look at and to drive, and it flies along! It might be weird for cis girls to call their car “Mott” but I do like it that “Bentwood Flyer” will get shortened to “BF” = Best Friend 👍🏼🌟
thanks, Maggie. But I was just thinking of it as Dublin for 'moth' rather than girlfriend. No?
@@wayoutwest-workshopstuff6299 yes, then that would work-could you add a moth on it somewhere?
I like ‘Bentwood Flyer’!
I vote for The Bentwood Flyer.
Bentwood Flyer would be my choice for a name. Excellent design !
The segment of you & son driving put a huge smile on my face. You did a remarkable job of refining number 1 and it is a beauty. Thank you for sharing your project with the likes of an arm chair dreamer like me. Cheers.
Whirligig all the way!
I looked into rules and requirements for bicycles, cargobikes and related things in the Netherlands. There are rules, but there is no permit application for bicycles. That is of course as long as you stay within size limits and speed limits as stated in the law. Should be similar in other EU countries. I admire your speed of development, it's almost unheard of in the field of velocars/velomobiles. Love the red wrapping, looks very nice.
I think you're allowed a larger motor in the Netherlands too, which would be good in this vehicle (250w here)
That is impressive :) It's good your family were able to visit.
The Mott!
The bent wood flyer ❤
Result looks a professional job, wooden car par excellence!
Well done for your persistance.
Next time once you get the frame set up then you could cover it with a couple layers of marine grade shrink wrap with the vinyl on top of that and it would be pretty puncture resistant as well as fairly sturdy; might save some weight over full panels.
Bentwood flyer…. YES
the Mott of course. Great work Tim
AMAZING!
Flintstone flyer gets my vote 👍
I suggest " Timber "
Busy little Bee, aren’t you.
I love a good cyclecar. That would be classified as a "Small" Cyclecar; "under 331 lbs".
While the Boomer in me is tickled by the "Flintstone Flyer", I think the "Bentwood Flyer" takes the cake.
Lovely job. The eye bolt idea for a future trailer possibly. I really enjoy all your ingenuity.
The Mott 👍👍👍
Sure, I mean it in a good way 🙂
It's a FEAT Multiply...
Fantastic Electrically Assisted Transport which Multiplies human effort and is made of Multiple pieces of plywood 😊 Who knows... the Italians might even copy it...
I am not irish, so I think the Whirligig is the best name.
Same shape as a peanut which would be a catchy name
Bentwood flyer gets my vote, think how good a little 1920s style brass badge would look on the grille!
I'd offer to cast a couple up but I'm not going to get time for that sort of thing until later in the year, my little foundry is buried under half my workshop!
I like the Bentwood Flyer. It’s an absolutely fabulous little car ❤
THE TIM MOTT
Of those choices, Bentwood Flyer is my fav.
I vote for Brentwood Flyer 😊. Nice build 🎉
After some consideration (in the bath!) I came up with "Tricorn HAT", where HAT stands for Home Assembled Tricycle. That exactly describes a three cornered tricycle that was assembled at home.
Fantastic progress! I like all the names but I think Bentwood Flyer might just have the edge. Can't wait to see the roof. Very best of luck with the tests: this vehicle completely deserves to be in production, and I hope that when it is you get a decent return for all your painstaking designing, building and refining. Thank you for sharing. 😊
I vote for Mott! No idea what it means but it rings true.
The Bentwood Plyer perhaps?
The Flintstone Flyer. The English car industry has another pioneer.
Irish! : - )
Flint stone Flyer has a good ring to it. Brilliant work Tim. Hope you’re feeling better soon.
Thanks Peter - me too!
Bentwood Flyer or The Mott. The other names are either too long or reference something else (Whirlygig is a thing of course). LOVE YOUR CAR!
I think lots of things are called whirlygig - we have pond beetles with that name
I dunno, I reckon inventing this You Tube channel was a pretty decent notch in the belt
Impressive.
Wonderful! What another great video. Thanks for the product review. We love them. I think you should name the car W.O.W. (for "Way Out West").
Bentwood Flyer seems the most appropriate to me......................>
The Bentwood Flyer
I like the sound of Bentwood Flyer
I like Bentwood flyer - Classy and descriptive ! 👍
Very fancy! The edge trim really finishes it off nicely 👍
Very neat. I think the turn signals would be easier seen if mounted above the head lights.
You have already produced more cars than some wood-be (lol) car manufacturers.
Many congratulations Tim on the making and running of your car - truly inspirational. Thank you for all of your videos - they have a charm, they are informative and very entertaining - those things rarely exist anymore in mainstream TV so your productions are like a breath of fresh air. Very best wishes to you, Sandra and the boys!
I like the Flintstone Flyer 😁
Hi Tim, I'm sat in the shade in Marrakech watching this video! So good to see both versions on the road. Will look out for you when we're back home speeding round that bend at Snave. The Mott is a great name!
Cheers, Clive! Have fun : - )
That nee vinyl wrap is looking smart! Excellent work, well done!
Bentwood flyer 👍🏻
I vote for bentwood flyer.
Cheers
Terry from South Carolina USA
If you put another I bolt, you can make a kingpin type trailer hitch and pull a trailer with you.
I vote for bentwood flyer!
very nice. The Flintstone Rocket.
Excellent
Bentwood Buggy!
Must be going at least 10% faster with that vinyl! Air(drag) can't touch this!
Flintstone Flyer! Add a small piece of Flint somewhere.
Amazing amazing amazing
Not Irish, but I like "the Mott"!
A fantastic pair of cars,Tim. You and your son sure made a good video showing what fun they are to drive. I would never dream of driving one on the roads here in Thailand. They would be put on the 'Open Season', list. A great and interesting project. Well done.
Thanks - you mean they would be honked at? crowded out? why?
Maybe run over or knocked into touch. The driving ability and road accident figures are appalling here. Unlike a Sligo visit in 1997. The roads were very good as was the standard of driving. My wife and I loved it. Not too happy with the rain and cold though. I think of it when I see you working away merrily and sloshing around in the mud. I love the videos', Tim. You're very creative. Keep em coming and strength to your elbow.@@wayoutwest-workshopstuff6299
I'll go with Mott, even though I don't know what it means. Get well soon.
