- Twitching jigs for Coho Salmon Fishing is probably the most exciting ways to catch these salmon. Coho are extremely aggressive when they enter the river and chasing down a twitching jig is exactly what's on their mind. Well not exactly but a properly presented twitching jig is something coho can't resist. In video #1 of this Coho Fishing video series Jordan from Addicted Fishing is going to be talking about the entire coho fishing setup and exactly what it takes to get out on the water to do some twitching. Please make sure to give us thumbs up, comment, and SHARE!

Can a baitcaster setup work as well
not gonna lie i kind of enjoy the fact that i get to come home everyday from work and watch a new addicted vid! BRU
FG Knot is my go to knot for braid to fluoro or mono. Extremely easy to tie and prob the strongest braid to fluoro/mono knot there is. Twitching is extremely effective for catching Coho. I think one of the main reasons is you're getting it right in front of the fishes face, if done right. Picked up my share of Kings twitching as well.
Cool can't wait for the next vid guys..
I was watching your videos about twitching while taking a break from fishing and I look across the river today and see this dude fishing across from me in his little blue boat haha. Just a dude and his dog lol
Very cool guys! Awesome little series you have right here.
Low and slow baby. Great video gents. I love twitching the good old hoochie.
I love twitching jigs, haven't caught a fish yet though.. I loose a lot of jigs, maybe you next video will show me what I'm doing wrong. Haha
Set up is pretty straight forward. Only thing I set up different is I use a little bit of a longer rod and i connect my jig to my mono line with a rated locking snap swivel. That way I can throw a spinner on real quick or change jig colors easy. Tying straight to the line isnt as important with twitching. I'd even argue that the free motion of the jig on the swivel is helpful with its action while twitching. It's not like jigs under a bobber where you want the jig parallel to the bottom so let it swing. And fall chinook like them too!
Shawn Bowen versatile with spinner! I like it.
Great with guys! !
With the blood knot and tying directly to the jig do you get any line twist in the braid from a rolling fish that could turn into a wind knot later on? Follow up to that are coho shy of terminal tackle and would a barrel swivel or snap swivel hurt this rig?
Any tips on this spring salmon run on the mouth of the sandy? I wanna try twitching jigs through slow holes by 1000 acres.. maybe a bobber an row just trying to get some help
I use a 7"10 guide select cranking rod for twitching because okuma dosnt make the gsp 7"6 in a casting model.
Twitch works. Drives Coho crazy like cats to catnip.
well done
Would you recommend shimano stradic or vanford 2500 size for coho ? Thanks
What time of year is best for coho and steelhead. I've tried looking up steelhead and coho and Chinook seasonal behaviors and I'm finding it quite difficult to find this information .
What's your take on tying 30lb braid directly to the jig? Also can you tell me where the Coho are right now? I'm new to the PNW and new to salmon fishing and I've been skunked on the Sandy River 3 times now. I've tried twitching, spinners, floating roe and sand shrimp under a bobber.
How do you prevent wind knots while twitching? Is it due to me using 30 pound hydro float?
Just curious, you have mentioned you like to use 30# when twitching in most of you left videos because of the way it cuts through the water. Not picking you apart by any means but in another video you stressed using 40# with the same set up and targeting the same fish. Does it matter much or does it? Just wandering. Love all your videos thanks!👌
What model Rod it that?
Never caught a coho twitching and I wanna go out with a guide to learn how to do it. Any recommendations about guides around Grays Harbor Wa?

What model and length is that Okuma Guide Select Pro rod? Thanks
It's the okuma guide select twitching rod GSP-S761M
Really nice little rod I picked up 3 of them in August for this season. They run about $140 to $170 .
Hay, I have Ben fishing a river that has fish but they won’t bite do you have any tips on getting them to bite?
This will happen a lot with coho that have been staged up in low water rivers for long periods of time. It's really hard to get them to bite. WE NEED RAIN!!
Now that my plants are done bring on the rain
YEAH just got a hatchery coho on your twitching jigs
Will you guys Send me a chrome kit please ?!!!
what model number size, etc is the rod your using?
Okuma Guide Select Pro 7'6" 8-17 lb line rating.

What length Okuma GSP?
7ft 6 in
7’ 6” GSP, 8-17 lbs line rating.
@@AddictedFishing Thank you.
@@norrisgarcia Thank you as well.
@@AddictedFishing will a 8' medium work?
I got wd40 on my reel and it soaked my braided line, is my line now weaker? Idk if i should replace it
Michael Coleman Honesty I have no idea. I wouldn’t think it would hurt, but I’m not sure.
You said shorter rod,but I didn't hear a recommended rod length.
7' is ideal
What are the river names? Lol
I’ve only ever seen people snag fish while twitchin. I’m sure it works, but more often than not they snagging
Not even close to true. I've twitched quite a bit the last 3 years and never snagged a fish. All hooked in the mouth. Not saying it's not possible but to say "more often than not" just simply isnt true. I've snagged way more fish drift fishing and even tossing spinners the last 10 years than anything else. But even those arent common occurrences.
I haven’t snagged a single fish twitching
You are just “twitching” the jig, not ripping it like a snagger would do.
This has to be a troll😂
I see guys get snaggy with a twich jig, we usually run them off. I've never seen one work correctly or have I got one to work for anything other than a trout.
I like what you guys are doing but I’d prefer if you just put everything in one long video. No one likes these short videos.
Erik Homer thanks for the feedback. We will have a lot of other videos that come out as one video in whole but with a few of these we wanted to take each subject and dive into each aspect very detailed. Also trying to make videos more specific to exactly what someone is searching for. Thanks for tuning in and we appreciate the feedback.
Addicted Fishing thanks for posting these videos
what model is the reel?
Okuma Inspire Size 30 Spinning Reel.
